Oakland a progressive city
or going to pot?
With a ballot initiative pushing for the legalization of marijuana in the State of California on the horizon (and one already in place allowing the compassionate use of marijuana for medicinal reasons) one smart entrepreneur seized on the opportunity and opened up what amounts to a cannabis superstore near the Oakland airport.
The company name - iGrow - sounds pretty catchy, don't 'ya think?
For those who are use medical marijuana, there are kits on sale on how to grow the leafy green stuff, with practical instructions geared towards purchasing equipment necessary to erect an indoor hydrophonic cultivation sytem (pumps, nutrients, tubing, lights and fans).
Ever mindful of applicable laws in the State of California, Mann has also enlisted the aid of a Doctor to process a cannabis card on site when needed.
"There are no full resources like us," Mann chirped excitedly in a recent interview with the media.
The enterprise may help prevent electrical fires and other complications since most members of the general public who may be inclined to give home cultivation a shot have few resources to tap into otherwise to carry out the task safely and efficiently.
The staff appear to be on a natural high, as they welcome customers to i.Grow, all smiles.
There are future plans to build a dispensary after Oakland lifts the moratorium on the limit of dispensaries.
Oakland has reached its current legal limit of four..
According to documented news reports, many Oakland residents are excited about i-Grow, and the potential jobs and revenue in the offing once the outlet is running full steam.
"Get this revenue and put it in the schools", former Oakland City Councilman, Leo Bazile said.
And teach those kids how to supplement an ailing city's local economy in the process, eh?
