Went to uni today. Supposed to do a photo shoot for the gift shop ad but the photographer was almost 3 hours late and still nowhere in sight. So, me, Vic and Andrew got fed up of waiting and we left.

Meanwhile i realised that the photo shoot i did with Vic, Deep and a bunch of few other students a few months back is now the latest official ad of UCSI. So now, we are the ambassadors of UCSI. Our photo is printed on all ads promoting UCSI including the newspaper, postcards, ucsi mag and even the calender! And Terry say that our ad is being circulated all around the world (hmm..this is kinda exaggerating i think..haha).

Our ad in The STAR paper
Even on the postcards

So if you think you had saw me, yes you really did! :)
Happy ‘rice ball’ festival ( or better known as ‘tong yuen’ festival ) to everyone. This is the 1st time I’m away fr home during rice ball festival. I miss my mum’s glutinous rice ball. I miss helping her to make those rounded rice balls, I miss her soup and I miss her tong yuen! Since it is the rice ball festival, I definitely cant go without rice balls. So, I had my share of rice balls at Esquire Kitchen. The rice balls there definitely cant be compared to my mum’s. The soup is pretty tasteless and the fillings of the rice balls are too sweet. On top of dat, for each bowl, we only had 3 rice balls. Aiks!

Neway my latest baby is my new stethoscope which is dark blue in colour and cost me over RM 200. And soon, I’m gonna get my ophthalmoscope set, tendon hammer, pen torch and most probably tuning fork which will cost me another 4 or 5 hundred over bucks! But since I can use them even after I graduate, and for life (hopefully), I think this little investment is gonna be worth it.

Say hello to my new baby

Started sem 2 today. Still kinda in the post and pre holiday mood..haha.. Started class today wif Dr. Anu and our 1st pbl session wif Dr. Opa. I really hate pbl when i get funny topics like the one i got today, 'basis of tiredness in relationship to dyspneao'. Maybe it's not such a hard topic but i searched through google, wikipedia, n all possible search engines and i got answers for dyspnaeo and tiredness and fatigue but nothing about their relationship. Oh well, Kuria helped me to find one but dats onli 1 sentence..better than nothing tho.

Anyways how fast one sem flew. I had spent one whole sem in UCSI with my bunch of 47 ode coursemates who add colours and spices to my life in uni. Some of them can be as gd as stand up comedian, some can be musicians, some can participate in Msia Idol, some can b chef, some can be paparazzi, some can be uncle... In short, everyone has their own funny side and a fabulous character. The lecturers are a whole lot of wonderful ppl too. Though some of them might be more strict or naggy, but i believe they have our best interest at heart. I sometimes miss my family back home, but im very glad to have a bunch of good friends (u all noe who u r) here to accompany me, to make my life in kl more happening and feel better. Hope this coming sem will be as great, if not better than the last.

I went to Singapore again today with Shir n Charlene. It’s been almost 3 yrs since I last saw Charlene. Time reali flies. The last I met up with Charlene she was still learning bakery and now, she is already working at Grand Hyatt Singapore baking pastry. And only recently, she won a competition in baking pastry and went to US. Marvellous!

We went to Din Tai Fung for lunch. A fren of Charlene, Ming Chao shifu (the service assistant called him that), the 2nd chef der is also sort of the person in charge, so all thanks to him we got 1 tray of free ‘xiao long pao’ (which otherwise cost SGD 9.80) and red bean n yam paste dumplings (according to Charlene’s fren, he made dat specially for us..felt so privelleged..haha).. The ‘xiao long pao’ is really mini, and the skin is very fine n translucent. We also had their prawn fried rice, some sweet n sour soup with lots of black fungus, vinegar, tofu, egg and dno wat else and a recommended fried pork dumpling vermicelli. Lunch was on Charlene. Ger, next time u come to KL, lunch will be on me =)

We at Din Tai Fung..do u tink me n Charlene look alike? back in sec sch, some ppl call us twin!

They say each xiao long pau has at least 18 folds..more than that..hehehe

Neway after lunch, it was shopping time. We went to Far East Plaza again. Shir is so in love wif pink..haha..she got her camera, which is pink a pink pouch. There are some interesting stuff such as guy g-strings and boxers with Spongebob printed big and bold..haha. After Charlene went to work, me n Shir walked around Wisma Atria and Takashimaya. MNG was havin up to 50% sales and the whole store was packed wif ppl. I wanted to try on two pieces of tops but when I look at the queue to the dressing room, I gave up. I’ll come back to Msia n buy cuz its not like it is cheaper in Singapore. In fact, it’s slightly more expensive. The onli worry is that Msia does not have dat model dat I want. The queue was so long and each person has at least 3 pieces of items in hand. Singaporeans shop for MNG as tho they are free. They just take, take, take, take.

Enjoyin some Monkey Business, Morning dews and Melon Kisses at Far East Plaza

Earrings for sale..The whole wall of it

It was kinda hard for us to take pic today as it was raining. So, me n Shir went to the basement of Taka, where there's an abundant of food and bought a walnut cheesecake. Taste good but too creamy for me. After we got quite tired of walking, we went to Grand Hyatt and look for Charlene. She treated us once again to some of her very own bake chocolate cookies which are very delicious, very rich in chocolate and it’s selling for SGD 6.00 per pack of 10.

This huge xmas tree almost reachin the top of Taka

Shir, Alli and the great pastry chef herself =p
I felt quite tired today but I felt really happy to meet up wif Charlene after not seeing her for so long, and of course Shir, one of my closest and longest-knowing friend around.

I just checked my email and im very glad to received 2 different emails from 2 different person. The 1st one is from a very close fren of mine who is studyin in uk now. It's interesting to discuss bout our lil experiment and it's good to hear fr her. The second email really caught me by surprised. I never expected my ex-boss from Citibank to send me a personal email considering dat he had dozens of email to reply n c to everyday and he is the Regional Branch Manager for Johor Bahru. Neway it kinda remind me of dos times dat i had while working in Citibank. Those experiences and the colleagues i met der is definitely something dat cant be exchange for money. It's a really bizarre way of how i got into Citibank. Recommendation from my ode ex-boss from Focus Point. Titan called me up, im still slepin, my mum picked, then somehow Luqman got called oso, we went for interview together, started training and voila, started working, havin to sign contracts and undergoin insurance courses. While working is not all dat sweet n nice, der are a lot of office politics going on (thank god im not invlove..im jz an observer)..working shows the realistic n cold side of human, of what they are capable of doin in order to save their own rice bowl n climb the corporate ladder. I hope next time in my workin environment, such unhealthy competition and doings will not happen..(kinda wishful tinkin here huh) From the weird, cool, funny, nice, not so nice antics of customers to romance-within-the-office, ders not a dull day at all. On top of dat, i learned a lot 'bout credit cards, their pros n cons and i saw dat even in dis modern, gadget-savvy 21st century, live within the vicinity of this urban area, there are still many ppl who do not noe wat a credit card is. No wonder we still heard of ppl declaring bankcrupt or commit suicide because of credit cards. Credit cards wont kill u unless u start accumulating debts and interest. I oso miss those days dat i get to hang out wif my colleagues, when we work very hard for a roadshow (tho it can be sometimes borin), for sales (especially durin ecap period) and the ups n downs when we see our approval or rejection rate everyday. It just makes u feel more happy n excited when u c dat ur approval rate is hitting 20 as there will be a bonus on top of ur monthly pay n commission. My highest record is onli 29 approval in a month if im not mistaken. Miss the 30-bonus. But don tink its easy achieving even ten approval. When i first started training, i tot it would be very easy to hit 10 each month but when i saw dat many ode colleagues fr ode teams who got their commission burned cz they cant hit 10, i noe itz not dat easy. And of course the 1st day i got my very own namecard, with my name n position printed on it, for a 20 yr old, it felt good..haha..And the 1st time i got my pay slip, all sealed up. Wat drives me to work even harder and of course better, once u get the hang of the job, is the figures printed at the bottom of ur pay slips each month, not forgettin the top sales position in ur category. But havin no car is a pretty big restriction if u realli wna go all d way out. So luckily i have very nice colleagues who is willing to gimme rides. Working in Citibank oso test relationships as complete trust n understanding is required between couples. If not, many misunderstandings n jealousy and problems are sure to arised. Neway, I really treasured dos experiences and care showered by my ex colleagues. Although card sales is not something i wna do for a lifetime, but it's been a great 5 months experience working in dat corporate company.

I reached home at bout 4pm today. Nearly missed our bus this morning as me and Katong got to Pudu late but for once, we were thankful for the inpunctual Msian attitude.lol.Neway I was supposed to blog bout this yesteday but i couldn't go online so here is another belated post:

7th December 2006 :

We took our results for our end of the yr exam today. The dean was in the lecture room sharp at 3.00pm. He released our result one by one and it just got me more and more nervous as he slowly went down the list of names. But fortunately, I passed my exam. Hurray!! As expected, I did not do so well for osce but I guessed my other two papers pulled me up. Anyway this is only 10% of our total finals next yr so we can always strive harder next sem.

We ( Sian, Ky, Hw, Hf, Greg and I ) later went to Kajang for Kajang Satay at this coffee shop known as Malaysia Restaurant. Sian recommended that as one of the best in Kajang. The aroma of the satay soaked right through us even when we were 6 shop houses away. But the satays were really delicious. There are no fats or thick layer of skin in between the whole chunk of meat. I love the fish and chicken satay and d gravy. Sian loves the beef satay and Hf says that the duck satays were good too. I finished bout 8 sticks. Hw, tho small in size but she had a huge appetite. I think she ate bout 15 sticks of satay on top of two roasted chicken wings and d fried noodles we all shared.

After a fulfilling satay meal, we went to Sian’s house to hang around for a while. Our initial 30 minutes stop eventually became bout 2 and a half hour. We played heart attack and ‘murderer’. Our heart attack game nearly got all of us heart attack with laughter as Greg, our biggest loser is oso the biggest joker of the nite..haha..Can’t imagine he lost 4 streaks in a row and the funniest was when he won and still hit his own hand. =p..Greg o Greg! Neway we all had a good time together. But poor Louis and Ria had to bear a long time b4 finally we brought deir satay home.

Enjoyin our chicken, beef, duck and fish satay
