This is kinda of an old song by Savage Garden but i love dis song. And now it's like an eelworm goin round n round in my head. Sweet. If a guy sings dis for me with a guitar on his hand.....WHOA! =p

TRULY MADLY DEEPLY
I'll be your dream
I'll be your wish I'll be your fantasy
I'll be your hope I'll be your love
Be everything that you need
I'll love you more with every breath
Truly, madly, deeply do
I will be strong I will be faithful
'cause I'm counting on
A new beginning
A reason for living
A deeper meaning, yeah
[chorus]
I want to stand with you on a mountain
I want to bathe with you in the sea
I want to lay like this forever
Until the sky falls down on me
And when the stars are shining
brightly in the velvet sky,
I'll make a wish send it to heaven
Then make you want to cry
The tears of joy for all the pleasure in the
pleasure in the certainty
That we're surrounded by the
comfort and protection of
The highest powers
In lonely hours
The tears devour you
[chorus]
Oh can you see it baby?
You don't have to close your eyes
'Cause it's standing right
before you
All that you need will surely come
I'll be your dream
I'll be your wish I'll be your fantasy
I'll be your hope I'll be your love
Be everything that you need
I'll love you more with every breath
Truly, madly, deeply do
[chorus]
I want to stand with you on a mountain
I want to bathe with you in the sea
I want to live like this forever
Until the sky falls down on me

National Blood Centre
Listening to the introduction by Mr. Phua
Last Wed, we went to the National Blood Centre for a visit. The main objectives of the centre is to provide safe, sufficient and quality blood to medical centres in Msia. To increase the quality and efficiency of blood transfusion in our country, there are also the haematology, immunohaematology, haemostasis, thrombosis and transfusion microbiology labs in the centre. The centre also produced drugs such as 'clotting factor VIII and XI' which are use for haemophilic patients and a small bottle of this drugs can go up as high as RM 2,000. Blood donation is also divided into two, the whole blood donation where the pack cells, plasma and platelets are donated and apheresis, where only plasma and platelets are donated.
Some of the gadgets use at the various labs in the centre

Looks pretty comfy rite? for whole blood donors

Girls Best Friend, Still?

Are diamonds STILL girls best friend? I used to think so but now, i'm not too sure anymore. At least for me, conflict diamonds are definitely NOT! In fact that heavy feeling after watching 'Blood Diamond' is still in my heart. Even Hollywood artiste are being careful of not being caught in the limelight wearing illicit diamonds especially for their upcoming Oscar. A blood diamond or conflict diamond is a diamond mined in a war zone and sold, usually clandestinely, in order to finance an insurgent or invading army's war efforts. And because of these conflict diamonds, millions, perhaps billions of lifes are lost innocently. Families are separated, war and chaos arised, children are taken in to be soldiers, brainwashed and could even killed their own parent, bloody scenes are part of the everyday life and no where is safe anymore all for the wanting to take over and control a nation, the resources. Countries involved in conflict diamonds are such as Angola, Sierra Leone, Liberia, Ivory Coast and Republic of Congo. UN had forbid countries from buying diamonds from them. However, some of the countries now such as Sierra Leone is legitimate part of the diamond trade and peaceful.

The panning of diamonds in Sierra Leone, Africa

DIAMONDS!!! Such beautiful gems but wat a sad and horror truth behind them

So, make sure the next time u wna buy a diamond, insist that it is a conflict free diamond with true certificate. Conflict diamond cost lives!

It's time for some happy food after learning such a terrible 'truth' bout diamond trades! Baskin Robin..hehe

Kuria and her fren who treated us to the movie =)

This reminds me of a song by Kanya West some time ago, 'Diamonds are Forever'. Is it really forever ?

Diamonds are forever,

They won't leave in the night, I've no fear that they might desert me

Diamonds are forever

[Kanye West]

[Chorus}

throw your diamonds in the sky if you feel the vibe

the rock is still alive every time I rhyme

Forever ever, Forever ever, ever ever, ever ever, ever ever, ever ever, ever ever,

[Verse]

Close your eyes and imagine, feel the magic vegas on acid seen through yves saint laurent glasses

and i ve realised that ive arrived coz it takes more than a magazine to kill my vibe.

does he write his own rhymes, sort of, I think em, that means I forgot better shit

than you ever thought of, damn is he really that caught up, I ask if they talk about classes do my name get brought up

I remember I couldnt afford a ford escort, or even afford track recorder, so its only right that I let the top drop on the drop top porsche its for yourself, thats important

if your strippers names porsche and you get tips from many men, then your fat friend, her nick-name is mini-van, excuse me thats just the henny man, I smoke, I drink, im supposed to stop I cant because

[Chorus]

[verse]

I was sick about awards, couldnt no-body cure me, only player that that got robbed and kept all his jewellery, alicia keys tried to talk some sense in him, 30 minutes later seen theres no convincing him,

what more could you ask for, the international awards? nah! who complain about when he is old and throw a tantrum like he is 3 years old, you gotta love it

though somebody still speaks from his soul

that wasnt changed by the chains or the game, or the fame when he came in the

game he made his own name, all I need is for y'all to pronounce my name, its kanye

but some of my platics still say kayne got family in the d-kin folk from mo town, back in the chi them folks aint

from mo town, life movin too fast I need to slow down girl aint give me no

ass she need to go down

my father benz said I need jesus so he took me to church and let the water

wash over my sleeves, the preacher said we need leaders, right then my body got

steel like a paraplagic

you no who you call, you got a message then leave it, the rock stand tall

like like you'd never believe it

take your diamonds and throw em up like you belemic, yea the beat cold but the flow is anemic

after debris settles and the dust gets swept up, big k pick up where young hov' left off

right where magazines wrote kanye west off I drop my new shit it sounds like the best of

and they al looking like oo we messed up, grammy night damn right we got dressed up, bottle after bottle til' we got messed up in a studio but really though yea

he next up

that would be the same day i gv the game back

people asking me am I gona give my chain back,

you know the next question dawg yo' where dame at, we track the indian dance to bring our rain (reign) back

whats up with you and jay man are y'all ok man, they pray for the death of the dynasty like amen

r-r-r-right here stands a man with the power to make a diamond with his bare hands

[Chorus]

[outro]

diamonds are forever, forever forever

diamonds are forever, forever forever

One of my housemate, who is also my coursemate got robbed yesterday in broad daylight at Jln. Pantas, the street i am living in currently. The theft rob her handphone which is a very new and cio Sony Ericson which cost bout 1600k (bout this price when she just bought it). Thank God she is unhurt. I always knew that the area around my uni, the place im living in is NOT safe but every now and then when i heard of incidents happening especially to ppl close around me, it will just send another shudder of fear down my spine. Wat if i'm the next victim? Gosh..i don't even wna tink bout it. Fine if they just take ur money, but wat if they hurt u as well? Thefts and robbers these days are really getting more n more brutal n inhuman. (hmm i tink they are inhuman all along if not they wouldnt try taking snatching/robbing ppl of their belongings). Police do patrol my area but how often can the police patrol? How effective are the police in carrying out their role? How much can they be trusted? Being a Malaysian, i truly wanted to believe in the efficiency of our Malaysia police force. But time and again, i witnessed living proof and testimonials that our police force are really good at catching or poking their nose into minor, teeny-weeny business such as fining couples who are merely holding hands, catching the wrong ppl and force them to be spagegoat since they want to close the case fast, investigating teens who are just merely hanging out at mamak and probably a lot more matters that are far less important compare to hooking the real big, bad wolf, catching the snatch theft, robbers and rapist that are disturbing the peacefulness and security of the people. I known of so many people around me, my fren and my own mother who are victims of snatch theft and had make police report, placing in them hopes that the criminal will be caught and brought to justice but all in vain. Months after months of waiting after making the report and the police seems to have close the case and the criminal scott free. All the police report seems just like a sort of formality and to keep track of the number of cases. On top of dat, these petty crime criminals are usually minors who don't even bother masking themselves and are easily recognise. So i don't think they be dat difficult to be hunted down if the police really tried hard and bother investigating.

Besides the police, how vigilant and cooperative are the society in preventing crime such as snatch theft, robbery, rape cases etc etc and helping to identify and catch these criminals? Often, whenever a crime case occurs, people all turn kiasu and kiasi (fully adapt the Singaporean culture). They are too scare to stand up for the truth and be witness.(i'm not saying all but majority). The saddest part is when people whom u tot are ur frenz and neighbours refused to stand up and would rather be a coward even if they witnessed u being a victim of a crime or being bullied. Of course, kudos to those brave heroes and heroins who dare to stand up and play a role especially in fighting crime. I think the malaysian non-of-my-business attitude should be curb and dispose. If the citizens dont start being united and help each other out in upholding justice, more people are only goin to suffer and be victims of those inhuman scourge.

Last Wed, our whole class went for a visit to the geriatrics centre near our uni. We were briefed on the branch of geriatric medicine, a branch of medicine caring for the elderly. Geriatric age is 65 yrs old and above. The resident doctor and his wife, Dr.Lee and Mrs.Lee owns the place. The centre is actually a converted bungalow house and can accomodate up to 20 patients. All in all, i learn a lot from this short visit.

We had our first clinical session today. Our facilitator is Dr. Aishah. We combined group with A2 as there are onli two lecturers available. This is the 1st time i had class with Dr. Aishah and it is the most fun class of all.

We learned a whole new bunch of terms and methods such as how to check for percussion, palpation, looking at the chest movements, vocal fremitus, and tactile vocal resonance. The whole session was really interesting as we finally get to put wat we learn fr books into practical. Dr. Aishah was less naggy than usual and she facilitate us all the way, guiding us along.

There was even public undressing. Actually not really in public, but in front of the 12 of us. hehe. The 'patient' (who is among us) gotta undress their top, be it a guy or girl! But of course girls will only undress in front of us girls. So we learned on two 'patients' today, a guy n a girl. I think today clinical class is realli fun and useful. I'm certainly looking forward to the next session. :)

The diagnostic kit

I woke up early in the morning today (well, it’s early for weekends anyway) just to catch the KTM to go to Subang with a bunch of my coursemates to get my diagnostic kit, tendon hammer and tuning fork, which added a few gigantic holes in my pocket. There are the latest to my collection as a med student. We were advised to get them ready for my our clinical sessions. The diagnostic kit is quite cool consisting of opthalmoscope, ottomoscope, laryngoscope etc. The temdon hammer however look something like an overgrown mushroom or UFO head..haha

Tendon hammer and tuning fork

Anyhoos, i'm addicted to the Korean drama 'My sassy Chun Hyang' right now. I'm halfway through the series already. It's just so funny! Can't wait to fin it! :)

'HAPPY NEW YEAR DEAREST ALL'

It's year 2007, a new yr, which means a whole new challenges ahead and a whole new journey to look forward to.

I went wif HF, Katong and his 9 other friends to Genting for countdown. I woke up as early as 5.00 am and by 6.00 in the morning, i was out of the house as HF's friend need to get to the airport too.

Genting was packed with ppl but it was still ok in the morning cz we all went 3 round on the cockscrew! But by noon, every single game had such a long long queue dat we decided to wait for nite b4 we continued. We went for the flume ride at nite and we shivered all through the ride..haha.

There was a concert going on in First World and super packed wif ppl. The crowd started getting high as midnite drew near and by the time the clock struck midnite, we all ushered in new year in a welcoming, happy and fantastic mood. Balloons dropped and sounds of grabbing and bursting ballooons can be heard. At the same time, there were also fireworks display for almost 15 min. Very beautiful. The concert went on wif some cantonese, mandarin and Hokkien songs followed wif a group of Brazillian dancers to spice up the atmosphere.

About 1.30 am, we were more than ready to go back to our hotel for rest. We had a hard time finding a place. All Genting hotels were fully booked and the place that we finally found is actually 10 minutes drive away from Genting, situated at some isolated mountain that look very scary in the midst of the thick mist at nite and colder than usual. After playing the 'teacup', almost everyone wasn't feeling reali good. HF had headaches. On top of the human traffic, there were car traffic too. We played mafia while waiting for the van to come to take us to the hotel.

I was the 1st to take my bath and at 3 am in the morning, the water was bone-chilling cold and i almost froze in shower. There was a heater but alas, the hot water is not functional. At dawn, it was so so cold that in even in jacket, socks and blanket, my leg nearly cramp fr coldness. Luckily, Mr. Sun came up later in the morning to warmed up the atmosphere.

The whole trip was ok but next time, we gotta pre-book hotel rooms 1st. I'm also glad to get to noe Katong's 9 ode fren who are basically almost the replica of Katong's character..=p..haha..Me and Hf ended the whole trip with a massage fr the massage chair which indeed helped relieved our aching and tiredness.

I don't usually make new year resolutions but i hope in this new yr, i won't grow any more fatter..HAHAHA!! Nah, just hope to have a smooth yr ahead, one filled wif sweet memories and pleasant experience =)
