Chatty Kathys sharpen knives for President's interview!
(Meow)
Barbara Walters will return to the View early this week (after being under the Surgeon's knife) to take advantage of a rare opportunity to interview President Obama.
Uh-huh!
The Commander-in-Chief will alight at ABC's Nework studio on Thursday morning (July 29th) to giggle with the middle-aged gals for a nano-image probe or two.
Wild horses couln't keep WaWa away.
The Grand Dame of night-time prime-time talk has been blessed with memorable one-on-one chats with all the "sitting" Presidents over the past three decades during the dinner hour.
Riding high on a sweeping slipping approval rate - the worst in recent months - it appears that the Commander-in-Chief intends to breeze into the studo on Thursday with the specific intent of pooh-poohing the notion that he is out of touch with the needs of Americans around the country.
When the BP oil spill first erupted, for instance,Obama was accused of failing to take prompt action - content instead - to allow the Execs at the Corporate Entity to resolve the crisis on their own.
His tendency to fly to exotic locales, and hob-knob with the powerful elite (while stressed-out Americans struggled to make ends meet at home in the wake of the tragedy) infuriated some.
But, it wasn't until the President shouted out to his lowly handlers - "Plug that damn hole' - that it was obvious Obama might be losing his grasp.
Will Barbara be content to pose the following question:
"If you were a tree, what kind of tree would you be?"
Or choose to go for the jugular, instead, on key issues which have resulted in his diminishing popularity.
I expect there will a lot of small polite talk - ranging from Obama's favorite leisure time activity, to heartwarming focuses on memories of his own childhood, whether he considers himself a good parent, and-so-forth and-so-on.
Is President Barack Obama one of the most fascinating people in America today?
Ms. WaWa will render her opinion (no doubt!) at the coffee clatch the next morning when Obama is safely out-of-harm's way.
I expect that Americans - in general - may come away with fascinating personal information top-secret 'til now and answers to the following deep questions.
What is your favorite color, Mr. President?
Did you regret passing up a shot at a Professional Basketball career?
