7-11...free slurpee day! July 11th at participating outlets...
When I tumbled out of bed at the crack-of-dawn this morning, I just knew July 11th was an important day, but why?
Slipped my mind!
Oh-oh!
Just hit me like a ton of bricks.
It's my older brother's birthday.
Happy "B" Day, Wayne!
Oh, and one more thing, it's also 7-11's birthday, too!
And, guess what?
To celebrate, 7-11 is serving up delicious mouth-watering slurpees all day at local participating outlets for free (where I can also pluck up the Sunday Times, too!)
Some are speculating that the always-open variety chain will serve five million of the frozen carbonated drinks in participating stores across the United States and Canada on this festive occasion.
"7-Eleven Day has become so popular that people mark it as a recurring event on their calendars," joked Stefanie Olson to one media outlet (7-Eleven category manager for Slurpee and Big Gulp beverages).
The 7.11-ounce slurpee drinks should hit the spot in Las Vegas, where the temperatures have been soaring in recent days, prompting tourists and locals alike to rustle up something thirst-quenching to satisfy the need.
See 'ya there!
