The comedy was written, produced, and directed by Charlie Chaplin - who appears in a role that he made famous - the "Little Tramp" - during the silent film era.
The black & white feature also stars Georgia Hale, Mack Swainam, Tom Murray, Henry Bergman, and Malcolm Waite.
A scene where the "Little Tramp" is forced to eat his boot to satisfy his hunger is one of the most memorable cinematic moments from Gold Rush that catapulted Chaplin to great fame and fortune.
Chaplin, who also directed, got the little gem in the can with a budget of $923,000.00.
The Gold Rush was originally 96 minutes long in an uncut version but edited to 82 minutes when originally distributed by United Artists in 1925.
