Clearly, the Giant's hero took the headlines in the morning daily to task.
POUND PHILLY!
They surely did - in an afternoon match on home turf - that drove the fans WILD!
Uh-huh!
The Giants beat the Philadelphia Phillies 3-0 today in San Francisco.
Now, the mighty diamond "Kings", boast a 2-1 lead in the NL championship series.
Cody Ross continued to ignite the crowds with his fancy ball-playing.
After homering three times in the first two games at Philadelphia, he could do no wrong, to the fans packed into the bleachers.
"He plays with no fear," manager Bruce Bochy barkd out on the sidelines.
"That's what you like about the guy."
Meanwile, the man-of-the-hour tried to keep a cool head.
"I'm just going up there trying to relax, stay calm, make something happen," Ross said.
A difficult task, to say the least.
The Giants have never won the World Series since moving lock-stock-and-barrel to San Francisco back in 1958.
They came close in 2002, but, no cigar!
The last time the Giants franchise won the World Series was 1954.
With hard work, a bit of perseverance - and some luck - the Giants will turn that factoid around in 2010.
