Connie Francis - a knock-out beauty in her hey-day (even now!) and legendary box-office star of yesteryear - glides into town for a one-night appearance at the historic Castro Theatre in San Francisco.
The charismatic charmer - who was the biggest-selling female pop artist in the 50's and 60's - was often teamed up with heart-throbs of the era (to engage in a little fun onscreen hi-jinks) which usually resulted in spectacular box-office results.
Because I was blessed with older sisters - one was a dead wringer for Connie when she got all gussied up - I was often dragged along to local movie houses to catch her latest screwball flick and bask in her eternal glow.
Ms. Francis made her film debut in - "Where the Boys Are" - a hilarious comedy about glorious Spring Break, teen-age temptation - and a truckload of boys - of course!
And, the raging hormones were kept at arm's length!
Wink! Wink!
The film was adeptly directed by Henry Levin (1961).
The pretty songbird is expected to belt out a roster of old standards such as "Where the Boys Are," "Stupid Cupid," "Don't Break the Heart That Loves You," "Everybody's Somebody's Fool," "Mama," "My Heart Has a Mind of Its Own," and many more!
A 21-piece orchestra will back up the legend.
See 'ya there!
