San Francisco...De Beer's outlet striking architectural beauty!
Over the past year or so, I often passed by the contruction site for the new De Beers retail outlet in downtown San Francisco, clueless about the intentions of the owners.
Today, when I slipped down Post Street and caught sight of the completed project, there was a gut reaction.
I let out a low whistle!
The De Beers facility is an architectural gem.
A jewel box, if anything!
Although, the building is basically square (four-sided) - and rests on a busy corner - the subtle design knocks out pedestrians as they stroll by.
The architects have facilitated a myriad of glass flourishes - in opaque and emerald-green tones - throughout the exterior that cause the structure to shimmer and vibrate elegantly throughout the course of the day and night.
The De Beers architectural offering is simply elegant.
Kudos!
For the De Beers Group, the Post Street outlet is one of seven high-profile shops in the U.S.
Other locations include Dallas, Houston, Las Vegas, New York and ritzy Beverly Hills.
The stunning interior features open spaces, ebony walls, etched-glass paneling and a chi-chi VIP room for private presentations.
San Francisco’s A-list crowd - Melanie Ellison, Dede Wilsey, Beatrix Seidenberg (Daniell Steel's daughter), Mayor Newsom, Maria Manetti Farrow, and Jennifer Seibel - to name a few - attended the glittering opening-night celebrations.
Needless to say, there was quite an extravagant show of dazzling diamond baubles, to take a gander at (and duly reported by Women's Wear Daily).
Awesome!
