Wicked...hot musical packs house @ Orpheum Theatre! San Francisco...

When I was strolling along Market Street the other night, I suddenly stumbled upon a posse of theatre-goers buzzing around the lobby of the OrpheumTheatre.

There was definitely a lot of electricity in the air!

The buzz of conversation rose to a loud roar when the excited ticket-holders were allowed to flow through the open doors and into their plush seats to catch a performance of WICKED.

The entertaining musical has won 26 major awards to date (including a Grammy and three Tony Awards).

WICKED is the untold story of the witches of Oz.

Long before Dorothy drops in, two other girls meet in the land of Oz.

One, born with emerald-green skin, is smart, fiery and misunderstood.

The other is beautiful, ambitious and very popular.

WICKED tells the story of their remarkable odyssey, how these two unlikely friends grow to become the Wicked Witch of the West and Glinda the Good.

Wicked is based on the novel by Gregory Maguire, music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz, and a book by Winnie Holzman.

The production is directed by Joe Mantello with musical staging by Wayne Cilento.

Marc Platt of Universal Pictures produced.

Catch it if you can!
