If Michelle Obama is hankering to land on my 2nd Annual Best-Dressed list (due January 1/2010), then it may behoove her to stand in front of a body-length mirror in her boudoir, and take stock.
Judging by the outfit she sported one day last week, it appears the 1st Lady may also benefit from a chuck-and-shove wardrobe session, and the sooner the better.
Sure, Mrs. Obama made the cut on my 1st annual list published on the web at the end of 2008.

But, without a wardrobe overhaul in the near future, the Prez's pretty better half, may find herself relegated to the shabby end of the spectrum on the worst-attired (or with no mention at all).
It all has to do with patterns, body type, and the like.
When Michelle scurried across the White House lawn - after disembarking from the Presidential whirly-bird with hubbie in tow - I was aghast, quite frankly, at the sorry sight my eyes were forced to gazed upon.
The classy well-educated go-getter was sporting a two-piece outfit - a skirt and blouse ensemble - with middle-aged fashion victim etched across its unflattering outer realms.
Well, it may have been the fault of a spiteful photographer who panned up from below - hence, capturing the Obama silhouette in a displeasing light - granted.
Or, just maybe, Michelle has feasted on a little too much rich food (in the aftermath of January 20th) on the par-tay circuit while hob-nobbing with the powerful elite, and it has taken its fleshy toll.
No-style non-brainer!
Of course, the thought crossed inquiring minds.

Imagine that!
A bouncing black baby at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.
The wrinkly old white dudes (as Paris would say) will be in an unceremonious uproar.
But, not to get off the fashion track...
The skirt was fashioned in an eye-catching black-and-white plaid - but, the bold lines (horizontal & vertical in nature!) that cut across her lower body - were all wrong for her frame.
In the final analysis, Mrs. Obama appeared to be spreading wide at the thighs, as her generous hips moved at a barge-like clip, when she strode across the well-manicured White House lawns.
A chic gown - in monochramtic tones (like the one pictured above) - better suits her.
A nod to the pearls, too, darling.
For fall and winter months ahead, the 1st Lady would fair well in dark muted tones, with as few glaring fashion flourishes as possible, to avoid the bulking-up of her curvy silhouette.
With that advice, before the frost settles in, she'll be comfortable with the horsey-set.
Outfit on far left (!) suits Obama flair best!
