Las Vegas...Greek Isles Hotel & Casino a gem! Tattler "seal of approval"...

Take a dip in the pool!

Not too long ago, I was cruising the Internet for a last-minute deal on Hotel lodging in Las Vegas, when I stumbled upon a "room sale" for the Greek Isles Hotel & Casino just off-the-strip.

The rate was so tempting that I couldn't resist.

I mean, it couldn't be THAT bad, could it?

Once I located the medium-size Hotel on Convention Center Drive (just behind Wynn's "Encore") I sauntered in to the check-in desk (half-expecting to tussle over room fees, surcharges, and taxes due).

Nope.

OMG!

The Greek Isles staff didn't even tag on any resort fees.

Nor did they require a $50 authorization fee for any incidentals that may have been incurred throughout the course of the stay.

Classy!

Wthin minutes - I was being handed off my room key - and I was trundling off to my suite.

Once I stepped out of the elevator on the 10th floor, the understated elegant decor swept me away.

The walls were washed in a deep ocre, with matching dark trim, which appealed to my artistic sensibilities.

Unlike Hotels & Motels in the area inclined to spring for carpets of the screaming yonkers variety, the "Greek" opted for a subtle pattern with a cushion beneath that was plush underfoot.

When I threw open the door of my suite, I was in heaven, believe me.

A king size bed beckoned with spanking new linens and the spacious room was also furnished with a tasteful selection of designer pieces.

I plunked down in the comfy upholstered armchair, kicked off my shoes, and stretched back to take it all in.

Needless to say, I have returned to the Greek Isles on three occasions - and on each visit - am never disappointed with the service, amenities, or staff.

I was hestitant (at first) to share the news about this little gem I stumbled on in the sizzling desert sun.

After all, when the word gets out, I expect the prices will soar - and golly - there may not be any room at the Inn on future visits (because I opened up my silly yap).

No matter.

You know me - anxious to share (altruistic) and all that.

As Columbo would say:  just one more thing.

For some inexplicable reason, guests at the Hotel always tend to be friendly and a joy to mingle with.

In so many establishments around Vegas - and elsewhere, too - guests tend to stand in the elevator stone-faced (ignoring the guest at their side) and reluctant to interact with a soul.

Not at the Greek Isles.

On each pleasant visit, I have found that guests - in the front foyer, upper levels of the Hotel, and even in a packed elevator (you name it)  - tend to say hello, chat 'ya up, or give a spirited nod as they head out the door to explore Sin City for the day.

It's as if that Hotel was erected on sacred ground, maybe even blessed by the almighty, who knows!

It's all Greek to moi!
