High-impact high-velocity winds whipped down the strip on the weekend - lending a adventurous romantic twist to the electrifying Vegas Night - which swarmed with revellers!
Although one local gossip reported that Paris Hilton & Cy Waits sauntered into PURE on Saturday eve, I didn't spy the heiress in the packed Casino; if anything, Paris was a ship that passed quietly in the night.
Actually, I was hell-bent on rustling up some moolah at the dollar slots, so wild horses couldn't have dragged me away.
Imagine that, on the Kitty Litter one-armed bandit, I scored big with a one-cent bet!
Just shortly after I pulled the arm of the colorfully decorated slot machine, the wins started racking up.
On one free spin, the bonus leapt up to approximately $3.00, but kept going.
Suddenly, I spied my total soaring from $4.25 to $6.70 to $11.50, and so forth and so on.
When the last spin was complete, my mini-jackpot was a stunning $22.75!
Needless to say, I flagged down the pretty hostess, and snapped up a full-bodied glass of delicious white wine to celebrate my turn of luck.
At this juncture, I sauntered around the casino.
At times, I felt like a fish going upstream, as throngs of excited gamblers flowed through Caesars in pursuit of quick thrills, a round of exotic cocktails, and a hearty laugh or two.
For the first time, I noticed that Cher actually has a specialty souvenir shop just adjacent to the concert hall where she will be appearing once again later in the month (June 25th?).
The elongated silver and diamond-studded finger-ring she made a fashion accessory "must have" is well-priced at $195.00.
The chanteuse's t-shirt collection is eye-catching and finely-crafted.
Fans get a lot of bang for their buck!
Over at Mirage, excited theatre-goers hob-nobbed in the Casino just outside the theatre where the musicial "Love" - a tribute to the Beatles - was about to get underway.
There was quite a buzz in the air!
I slipped into the "Love" memorabilia shop.
Imagine that!
A "Yellow Submarine Juke Box" may be snapped up for a mere $8,995.00 smackeroos.
Framed limited prints of the design for the original album cover - "Sergeant Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" - are framed and signed by the artist (reasonably priced at $3500.00).
Imaginative quality t-shirts are in abundance, too.
Don't venture in there with your American Express card, though.
You may later regret it when the bills come flying in!
Down the street, I popped in for a foot-long hot dog ($1.99 each).
Talk about truth in advertising!
When I spied the hot dog, I immediately thought of the feature film "Boogie Nights".
I washed that down with a thirst-quenching Margarita which cost me a paltry 99 cents.
At Wynn's Resort, excited slot-players were lining up for a tournament.
Gosh, the cocktail waitresses on the casino floor are pretty.
Do you hazard a guess that all the bodacious babes were hand-picked by Steve Wynn?
Downtown, on Freemont Street, an earthier crowd danced in the streets and got quite vocal, when light shows of Jim Morrison & the Doors - and legendary Queen - revved up on the overhead screen.
Something for everyone in Vegas, alright!
See 'ya there!
