Two lesbian characters are being fleshed out for an outer space SciFi TV vehicle expected to rattle cages come fall (October).
To their credit, the producers have signed two high-profile actresses (coming off top-rated evening bill-of-fare in the Television mainstream) to heighten viewer appeal.
Ming Na (ER) and Reiko Aylesworth (24) not only strut about "out" - but, are romantically-linked as lovers on the science fiction frontier - where few lipstick lesbos or diesel dykes have ventured before.
Unlike its predecessor (dare we speak its name?) Stargate is more apt to be a gay trek across a rainbow universe in search of intelligent homo life beyond WeHo and Silver Lake, the closest space station transmitting the signal for the Ellen Show, some good blow, and what-have-you.
Kidding!
The plot, in a nutshell, revolves around a group of humans who are stranded in the far reaches of outer space struggling to survive.
According to Stargate producer Brad Wright and co-producer Robert C. Cooper, the vessel that houses them is actually a ship that was crafted by their "Ancients", to carry-out an experiment that went awry.
Not again! Stupid humans...
"Ugly Betty" actor - David Blue - and Lou Diamond Phillips are slated to inhabit a couple of spacey roles suited in body-fitting spandex ripe to showcase their unique Thespian talents (there's that word again).
