Oprah Winfrey...shows off butt crack curbside! Honorary Oscar has noses out-of-whack!

Quite a few noses got out-of-whack earlier today when it was announced by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences that the Queen of afternoon schlock - um - talk is going to be given the nod with an Honorary Oscar!

As Barbra Streisand would say:
"Hello gorgeous!"

But, not so fast.  Do a posse of power-players in Tinseltown have the clout to nix the prestigious outfit's unprecedented favoritism?

Meanwhile, I'm still chuckling over all the exposure (!) Big "O" unexpectedly snatched up from the jaws of fate at a chic dinner party night-before-last with the former Governor's wife and handsome teen son in tow (on the mend, by the way).

Once the celebrated trio alighted from the chi chi eatery, the paparazzi immediately began to swarm every which way but loose, as they jockeyed for a perch.

As it turns out, the posse of photogs was Oprah's undoing, alright.

Wouldn't you know it?

For example, when the hefty talk-show Diva bent over to scramble inside the purring limo at the curb (albeit in a cumbersome fashion) a tabloid gossip monger nabbed a revealing shot of Ms. Oprah's butt-crack!

It reminded me of a joke I used to tell when I was a kid (which always got a big laugh, by the way).

You know what I'd buy if I had a million bucks?

A new ass 'cause mine is cracked!

Although mine is a tidy butt, Ms. Winfrey has enough bucks for a truckload of fill, if needed!

Sarah Ferguson...snake-oil saleswoman Oprah Winfrey manipulates Duchess!

On the heels of crying the blues - and hitting the high-energy talk-show circuit to plug her spanking-new "docu-series" (Finding Sarah) - the latest chapter of Sarah Ferguson's sorry saga spewed out over the broadcast airwaves to titillate the country once again this past week.

Has the woman no shame?

Well, if 'ya ask me, Oprah Winfrey - who made a gracious exit from network television last week - is largely to blame for the tawdry fiasco!

In fact, once the "Sarah and Oprah" interview aired yesterday - to launch the much-ballyhooed "tell-all" - it was quite evident to me that Big "O" is nothing more than a clever snake-oil-saleswoman out to rustle up controversy, boost ratings, and selfishly tout her dubious bill-of-fare at the OWN network.

For example, when Sarah Ferguson was caught red-handed influence-peddling last year in an undercover sting, the cast-out Royal fessed up that she fell victim to the temptation because - she was not only "broke" - but had also hit rock-bottom emotionally.

At this juncture, Oprah - who claimed to be a "good friend" - entered into discussions with Sarah about the development of a vehicle aimed at rehabilitating Ferguson's image in the public eye on the OWN Network.

"Why not a series on cooking," Sarah allegedly suggested to her pal, as she struggled to swallow her pride in a desperate hour of need.

Personally, I believe that the idea for the culinary show was an excellent way to go, for a couple of reasons.

For starters, it would have brought much-needed funds into the coffers - and thus - provided the wherewithal for the former Duchess of York to support herself and her children.

In addition, the cooking spot would have slowly restored Sarah's flaky image to the public-at-large around this country and across the big pond.

Mission: Accomplished!

But, for some inexplicable reason, Oprah elected to offer up a show that would "toss a spotlight" on Sarah's lack of good judgment and fall from Grace in the past.

More scurrilous, perhaps, was Oprah's deceitful decision to draw on the professional assistance of two network personalities (Dr. Phil, for one) she has been vigorously promoting - in what amounts to - a "spotty" television schedule (full of holes).

Oprah's conduct was (and is) particularly outrageous when you consider one obvious fact.

Near the end of the interview, after playing back tapes of the upcoming segments of "Finding Sarah", Oprah actually concludes to Sarah (and her viewing audience) that Prince Andrew's former spouse essentially got into trouble because she was too vulnerable and too trusting.

"So, people were able to take advantage of you," Oprah summarized in so many words.

Ironic, that!

In the final analysis, Oprah Winfrey was guilty of the same cruel and unusual outrageous conduct.

If Oprah really cared about Sarah (some friend!) she would have signed on the flaming red-headed beauty for a cooking show.

Instead, she elected to manipulate Ms. Ferguson into a reality-based docu-series about a tawdry scandal from the past, in order to boost her ratings, and also promote Dr. Phil (and a money guru she's also pushing) on her fledgling network.

In sum, Oprah is just another shark, circling the treacherous waters for innocent prey.

Does Big "O" think we were all born yesterday?

Talk about disreputable conduct!

Shame on you, Oprah.

"Finding Sarah" broadcasts on June 12th (2011).

You be the judge!

Nate's...fashion no-no! Big "O's" protege boobs big time!

Nate - that irresistible little cutie that Oprah signed on to host a "Decorating Show" on the OWN Network - screwed up big time yesterday!

The "out" young decorator - who is usually the epitome of style and grace - appeared in a segment this week that definitely underscored that the lad either needs a new fashion advisor or a full-length mirror to ensure that he gets it "right" next time he appears on Broadcast TV.

When it comes to avoiding a fashion disaster that is!

For example, in a segment yesterday, Nate sported a tasteful grey sport
coat, and teamed it with elegant black dress slacks, squeaky-clean white dress shirt, black tie, and - OMG - brown shoes!

Is Nate color-blind, do 'ya think?

Black, wine-colored, or grey shoes would have been preferable!

Although the "top half" was A-okay in my estimation (don't call the Fashion Police on that part of the ensemble, please!) the choice of footwear appeared to be a careless afterthought.

When you consider that his pocket handkerchief was neatly folded - in a line across the breast pocket - it causes one to wonder.

What gives?

For sure, he's headed for my - "Worst-Dressed" list - unless he starts paying attention to his feet!

And you thought Dave Letterman was a bad boy for wearing white socks with dark shoes and a snappy black dress suit!

Chaz Bono...Oprah weeps during interview! Cher accepting sex change!

Oprah Winfrey broke down and exposed her emotional side when Chaz Bono appeared on her talk show this week to discuss the end stages of her sex change transition from woman to man.

When Big “O” quizzed Chaz (formerly known as Chastity Bono) about her mother’s feelings on the subject of the highly-publicized transformation, her  response caused Oprah Winfrey to openly cry.

Apparently, shortly after Chaz started to inject testosterone to enhance her male physicality (so that her body would match up with her legal sexual identity change registered at the local courthouse this year) her voice noticeably changed and fell into a lower register.

Chaz poignantly recalled that the loss of her once-familiar voice upset her mother.

In fact, one day Cher frantically called up Chaz on the telephone with an unusual request.

“Do you still have the outgoing message you recorded on your telephone answering machine before the sex change,” Cher quizzed her son.

When Chaz responed in the negative, Cher was quite upset.

“I’m never going to hear that voice again,” she wept.

At this juncture in the interview, Oprah’s eyes welled up.

Though not a mother herself, Oprah recognized how distressing that scenario must have been for the Pop Diva, when the shocking events unfolded.

"There has to be a period of grieving. She lost a daughter," Oprah summarized solemnly.

It was a rivetting Television moment with no-holds barred.

Meanwhile, Chaz expressed relief over the fact there was a great outpouring of love that washed over her once the decision was made to transition to a man at that particularly stressful moment in his life.

“I literally went through a primal scream,” Chaz acknowledged to the rapt audience, sitting on the edge of their seats.

And, the support also arrived in spades, the day the slated broadcast on Oprah Winfrey's talk-show arrived.

“This morning my mother sent an e-mail in which she addressed me – for the first time – as Chaz,” she confided.

In the final analysis, Cher is coming around, but - understandably - it has been a difficult row to hoe!

Curiously, Cher allegedly didn’t have a problem accepting the fact originally that Chaz may be a lesbian.

But, a man in a woman’s body, was something else entirely to reckon with.

Who knew?

Actually, I recall watching Chastity on the Sonny & Cher show years ago when I was in my twenties.

It never escaped my attention that Chastity was a bit huskey physically - and quite possibly - going to grow up to be a lesbian.

Whether that was the perception of middle America, I don’t know.

To me, there was a pink elephant on stage, but everyone ignored it.

For Chastity’s sake?

Today, it appears that Mr. Bono is comfortable in his skin.

Like Cher – who is adamant that waking up one day in a man’s body would be a troubling dilemma to deal with – Chaz has obviously found her place (is "home").

For those who are interested in how that healing occurred, Bono has pieced together a documentary to enlighten the teaming masses about the tricky transition, on sale now in DVD format.

Catch it if you can!

Oprah Winfrey...gay rumors fueled by camping trip with sidekick!

Yes, Oprah headed for the secluded back-hills this weekend with gal pal, Gayle King, who works side-by-side the outspoken talk show hostess (slated to pack up lock, stock, & barrel and move over to cable at the end of the year).

Uh-huh!

Tongues are wagging, alright.

Instead of taking along alleged boy-toy - Steadman (her long-time pussy beard) - Oprah made a romantic bid for a quiet little weekend get-a-away in the bush (no pun intended) with her girl Friday (who some say is her secret lesbian lover).

Who do you suppose is top?

Yes, Oprah & Gayle King have taken a respite from it all - and gone fly-fishing (!) and camping (!) and what-have-you.

Just betcha, they'll be squatting in the bushes to take an organic twinkle now and then - too!

Nothing like a romantic clinch under a canopy of stars, when the wolves are at bay, eh?

Chelsea Clinton...paparazzi swarm in frenzied build-up on Wedding Day!

Chelsea's big day thanks to Daddy!

Slick Willy approves of son-in-law!

The celebrity sightings started last evening in the tony enclave of Rhinebeck, New York - as guests who were invited to Chelsea Clinton's much-ballyhooed nupitals - began arriving to attend a well-planned rehearsal at an estimated cost of $250,000.00.

Bill Clinton, casually dressed in a black "t'" and slacks nabbed a lot of attention - for instance - when he stepped out of a chauffeured limo and proceeded to stroll through the throngs all smiles into one of the many quaint local establishments that dotted the picturesque main street.

In his wake, the locals kibbitzed and chatted each other up about the high-profile celebrity guest list.

In the mouths of many?

Gossips tittered about  Barbara Streisand and Sarah Jessica Parker - surely two of the most highly-visible celebs - to saunter into their little neck of the woods in recent years

When a shot of Babs filled the TV screen in my hospital room this morning,  alongside a report on her invite to the wedding, a big bouncey nurse voiced her blatant disapproval.

"Why did Chelsea invite her to the wedding?"

I pointed out that the Diva was one of slick Willy's big financial backers in his last bid for the Presidency.

At which point, I noted that Barbara once slept overnight at the White House.

"I think she had the hots for Bill, don't you," I was inclined to tease from the comfy confines of my hospital bed.

The nurse let out a belly-laugh at this juncture.

"I just betcha!"

One local was sure she caught sight of fashion designer Vera Wang.

That little tidbit added feul to the speculation that Chelsea would sashay down the aisle in one of her exquisite creations.

"The Bridesmaids will be wearing Wang, too," another asserted from the sidelines.

But, Hillary - it's been rumored - has remained loyal to long-time pal - Oscar De La Renta - in that fashion regard.

Big "O" sightings abounded around town, too.

Was Oprah Winfrey really in their humble midst?

Gifting shiny new cars - left, right and center - no doubt.

No Steadman in sight, however.

At dusk, after rehearsal broke, there was a flurry of activity as guests shuffled off  to an old Historic Inn for cocktails with the Clintons.

"Oh, look. There's Madeleine Albright," cried out one excited bystander.

Meanwhile, media hounds jockeyed for position, and mused about the details.

After all, it's all about the details!

Although most struggling American couples (first starting out) shell out approximately $24,000.00 for their special day at the local chapel, the scuttlebutt persists that the Clintons have gone way over the top with a spiffy  "once-in-a-lifetime" ceremony expected to run up receipts in the neighborhood of 2 to 3 million smackeroos.

In retrospect, it appears that staggering sums of moolah the former President drummed up from speaking engagements around the globe in recent years (emoted at an estimated $100,000.00 a pop) may come in handy when the well-turned-out Barista presents the bill.

In one respect, the Clinton's may have lucked out.

Insiders whisper that the menu will be predominated by Vegan dishes, in view of the fact, Chelsea is a big fan of Vegetarianism.

American voters may recall press clips of Ms. Clinton nursing bumper crops in the organic garden on the White House roof, and later shuffling around the state-of-the-art kitchen, whipping up nutritious Vegan meals for the1st family.

How much could a few lousey vegetables (and tofu) cost in the grand scheme of things?

The wedding march is expected to strike up at 6 p.m. this evening.

But, invited guests may not be beaming in the church aisles, unless they first pass muster with a security detail that is handling the evening's blessed event with military-style precision.

At the door of the Church, armed guards will scan guest lists and photos, to ensure there are no gate crashers at-the-ready to hitch a joy ride on the High Society event of the year.

Pssst!

See 'ya at the kitchen door!

Madeleine ready to catch the bouquet!

Walk of Fame...Reese Witherspoon & Tina Fey get Star nod! Big "O" diminishes honor!

The red carpet was rolled out, limos purred at the curb, and the fans went wild!

Uh-huh.

The Chamber of Commerce tossed a chi chi  press conference  in true Hollywood-style to induct a posse of celebrities into the "Walk of Fame".

A smattering of stars - from myriad facets of the industry - will have their stage names etched onto pink-and-black terrazzo slabs - and thus - thrust  into the anals of the Hollywood elite.

Unfortunately - like Obama and his controversial Nobel Peace Prize - not all the receipients were deserving or up to snuff.

Big "O", for instance.

Although Ms. Oprey showed promise in "The Color Purple' many moons ago (Native Sun, too) the Hollywood heavyweight was soon relegated to the back burner in Tinseltown because the role of cheezy talk show host doesn't quite cut it.

In fact, her presence on the pretigious walk has diminished the stature of the honor.

I suppose a stretch of Hollywood - on the seamy end of town - will soon be reserved for reality-show "personalities" who may end up in that dicey part of Hollywood down 'n out one day once their ten minutes of fame runs out.

Worthy subjects celebrating the nod this past week included Donald Sutherland (Canadian Actor), Reese Witherspoon, Danny Devito ('bout time, sir!), Rascal Flatts (now there's a legend), chanteuse Melissa Etheridge, Gwyneth Paltrow (ho hum), the Muppets (it's no longer tough being green), and last - but not least in my showbiz diary - Penlope Cruz (thirty inductees in 2010).

Congrats, all!

Denise Richards...awkward moments on Oprah! Call girls, porn & drugs...

When Oprah zeroed in for the kill today on her talk fest - it turned out to be an awkward moment for her target - guest Denise Richards.

Prying big “O” was determined to toss the glaring spotlight on the actresses ex-husband bad boy Charlie Sheen (father to her children) currently facing charges of felony menacing arising from a domestic quarrel with his current wife Brooke in Aspen (Colorado) during the yuletide season the end of last year.

“There has been talk about call girls, drugs, and porn,” Oprah uttered up with nary a qualm.

But, Denise balked at the thought of responding to the allegations.

In an awkward moment, Ms. Richards stopped short of biting her lip, before noting - at the urging of the pushy host - that she was hesitant about responding because she had two daughters to protect.

Perhaps Ms. Richards was mortified because the query came too close to home?

Over the past year, for example, it has been reported in the tabloids that Ms. Richards - according to Charlie - is a former high-class call girl.

And, that’s how he met her, according to the scintillating tabloid rags.

Any truth in that, Denise?

Oprah Winfrey...Dad pleads with Big "O" to call him! Heartless bit**...

Baggie eyes verify Oprah's guilt-ridden sleepless nights!

Shortly after Kitty Kelley mentioned on talk shows this past week, that she undercovered the identity of Oprah's "true" father, the media hounds were off-and-running!

Who was the mysterious man that Oprah was allegedly denying the existence of?

And, why would Oprah - who touts herself as a decent caring human being  (?) - shut the man out on his death bed?

Talk about heartless bit**!

Norh Robinson, an impoverished elderly gent, resides in a humble VA hospital in dirt-poor Mississippi.

When interviewed this past week in person, Robinson said he dreams of speaking just once with Big "O"  (my affective term for the gorilla-sized  talk-show host inclined to throw her considerable weight around much to chagrin of people with a modicum of class) as father and daughter.

Her dad - who she was separated from as a young child before her carefree wild days where play-for-pay helped Oprah pay the rent in the "hood"  (according to Kelley) - confided that Oprah has never even given him the courtesy of a reply.

What a phony, when you consider Ms. Winfrey's " holier than thou" attitude on her puffy talk show, all these years.

Mr. Robinson even agreed to a paternity test to establish the truth.

In sum, it appears that the lusty rotund one is afraid that skeletons in the closet may pop out of the past to haunt her, I expect.

Mr. Robinson fondly recalled that he met Oprah's mom when they worked in the same part of town of Kosciusko.  In fact, the pleasant out-going man gave her mother rides to and from work when she could ill afford to make the trek on her own.

Some thanks, Oprah!

Oprah's real-life Dad was upbeat and cheerful at the end of the interview in spite of Oprah's snub.

"She's taken after her daddy," he said.

"I was a handsome man growing up at the time."

I guess if it wasn't for all the junk food Ms. Winfrey shoves in her mouth daily, she might not be half-bad to gaze upon either.

They say you get the face you deserve at 50.

Oprah's is a roadmap to hell, alright.

Oprah Winfrey...Kitty Kelley tell-all about big "O" & real dad! Dates with John Kesh

Big “O” is facing a controversy!

On the eve of the release of a tell-all bio on talk-show host - Oprah Winfrey - the sh** is flying, and subsequently, titilating tattlers all over the blogosphere.

A tearful Kitty Kelley (who penned the penetrating tome) complained to one tabloid magazine show that Oprah is using her considerable weight in the industry to lock her out of the talk show circuit to promote her new book which is simply titled "Oprah Winfrey".

“Barbra Walters won’t have me on "The View". And, Larry King doesn’t want to have anything to do with me,” she bellowed to all within earshot.

Then, Kelley took a poke at Dave Letterman.

“He said he didn’t want to disrupt his relationship with Oprah. But, he's been in an ongoing dispute with Oprah for sixteen years,.” she lamented in total disbelief.

Gail, Oprah’s BFF (some say Lesbian lover) laughed that Kelley’s credibility was lacking.

“She said she interviewed 850 people for the book. Oprah doesn’t  know that many people.”

That argument doesn’t hold up to me.

Over the 25-year course of the Oprah gab fest, the rotund little interviewer must have crossed paths with at least that many individuals, without so much as a cheery hello.

It is conceivable that those individuals made astute observations on the sidelines along the way.

How a person acts back-stage and out of the spotlight - when they think no one is watching or taking  notes - is often quite a revelation.

If Gail thinks otherwise, obviously she’s been using so much hairspray on that tacky "do", that it seeped into her skull and eroded her brain!

Kelley  pointed out that she culled hundreds of interviews - from dog-eared newspaper clips, insightful  magazine profiles, and talk show appearances - and thus - was able to use Oprah’s "own words" in the book.

Provided the quotes were accurate, of course!

But, critics at the New York Times had their own take on that slant.

“It’s just a lot of old material, gleaned from ancient clippings, rehashed," they accused in so many words.

Kelley is adamant that the book contains choice new morsels for readers to chew on.

“I spoke to Oprah’s Aunt Katherine and she revealed who Oprah’s real father is.”

On talks shows, meanwhile,  the controversy raged.

One guest gushed that she loved Oprah and that she wanted to digest every delicious detail about her favorite TV persona.

Another labeled the book smut and denounced the author.

“I want Oprah on a pedestal,” she rallied in support.

Gail took the position that because Oprah has allegedly been straightforward about her life, that the book amounts to a lot of silly pap, not worthy of a day's read at the beach.

“It won’t end up on the Oprah book of the month club,“ she laughed.

Gail is daft.

Undoubtedly, the book will sell oodles of copies, once the word gets out.

Surely gossip mongers around the country will want to devour every salicious detail about an affair Oprah jumped into with John Tesh way back when.

One charged that Oprah was entitled to her privacy.

In response, another pundit laughed hysterically.

“But she’s on a talk show everyday!”

Vernon Winfrey - who granted a rare interview to Kelley - opined that Oprah’s success was all about timing and came when there was an auspicious upswing in the civil rights movement.

According to Kelly, though, Vernon is not Oprah’s real father.

In a 3-days huddle with Aunt Katherine, Kelley swears that she learned who sired Oprah.

“I was sworn to secrecy, though,“ Kelley confided.

The controversial literary figure with the acid pen would prefer that Oprah discover the truth herself, though.

Is that the bombshell that Oprah doesn’t want anyone to know about?

Maybe Ms. Winfrey is now primed and ready to appear as a guest on the popular new TV hit:

"Who do you think you are?"

As to Kelley, well, if she takes a poke at Oprah for any alleged plastic surgeries - in my mind's eye - that would be like calling the kettle black.

After all, Kelley's plastic-looking (stretched skin) is a sure indicator that she has the corner on that market!

Oprah Winfrey...OWN network to feature reality show & travelogue!

Oprah Winfrey intends to throw her considerable weight behind a couple of new shows she’ll launch in the New Year on her own network deep in the heart of cable land.

“My vision for OWN is to create a network that inspires our viewers and makes them want to be who they are on their best day,” the once top-ratings-getter announced this past week.

What about when they’re down 'n out and suffering the blues?

Ah, superficial old money-bags-Oprah is at it again.

On the occasion of her 25th Anniversary, the in-your-face ego-driven talk how host threw in the towel at ABC, after noting to a dubious press that it “felt right in her bones” to move on.

One offering slated to broadcast on the OWN  network is - Visionaries - which will focus on artists and the creative process.

At press time, it was announced there will be in-depth profiles on Lady Gaga and James Cameron (for starters!) to look forward to.

There will also be a reality show utilizing behind-the-scenes footage from the last season of the Oprah Winfrey show which she produced.

Just betcha die-hard fans will lap up shots of Oprah cruising into the studio in her luxury sedan, undergoing transformations (!) in the make-up chair, and heading up pep talks with the show’s head honchos.

But taking a bath?

Old flubber will need a ton or two of suds to hide all that blubber from the prying eyes of her fans!

In the flagship show - Oprah’s New Chapter - the ambitious voice piece will take the whole kit ’n kaboodle on the road and explore the four corners of the earth at whim (from the Taj Mahal to the Great Wall of China - and I expect - to a babbling brook or two in-between if it takes her fancy).

The rotund little whirlwind has promised there will a hands-on approach at the spanking new baby network.

“My sleeves are all rolled up all the way they can be,” she chirped.

The OWN network is a joint venture between Harpo Inc. (Oprah’s production company) and Discovery Communications, Inc. slated to start-up at the stroke of midnight 2011.

Two previous start-dates misfired, so I expect at this juncture, Oprah is crossing her stubby little fingers and praying to the Gods of cable to pull through for her.

To many, the career move is a step down - in spite of the fact the principals are projecting a viewership of 80 million - in the shadow of media giants NBC, ABC, FOX, CBS, CNN.

Break a nail, Oprah!

Justin Bieber...PEOPLE cover goofy! Pop star cries foul...

When a artist graces the cover of PEOPLE magazine, they’ve arrived in many respects.

But, in view of the complaints emanating out of the Justin Bieber camp, mainstream images beaming out to the masses is not always a palpable one, welcomed with open arms by the subject.

Shortly after Pop Culture’s “Bible”of  celebrity tattle released a promo on their new darling - Justin Bieber - he roared his disapproval by way of the almighty tweet.

If fans read between the lines, it was obvious.

Bieber hates the squeaky-clean - almost scary - photograph that stares out goofily from the popular weekly on the newstands around the country.

The mouth, for example, is so pepsodent!

Also, it appears that PEOPLE facilitated some photo-shop magic to effect the image of a wholesome all-American pop star (in spite of the fact he’s Canadian).

Ah, it’s the nature of the beast.

Once fame has knocked on a celebrity’s door, the perceptions of the individual become twisted and distorted (triggered by a ravenous press out to manipulate - and eventually devour - their latest caged animal).

I expect that in the near future, Bieber’s handlers will start requesting editorial control, choice of pics, you name it.

Like Streisand, before him, there may be clandestine efforts to protect and promote the persona that fits their vision of the sizzling hot pop star in the early throes of his career on talk shows and at high-profile celebrity events.

If you recall, Barbra Streisand demanded Oprah Winfrey rearrange the furniture on her set, so the Diva's  better side (is there one?) was facing camera.

Antics like that earned La Streisand the title of “Super C**t”.

For good reason, celebrities lay down a lot of cold hard cash to snap up a bevy of expert handlers to usher them up the ladder of success without any burps (or nasty gaffes) causing stumbles along the way.

Superstars are not immune to fatal missteps in the fickle arena - otherwise known as the Hollywood Dream Factory - though.

When Tom Cruise took a dive from his lofty perch (in part due to the infamous couch-jumping scene on Oprah) foes clucked with glee.

No wonder!

Just months prior, Cruise parted ways with the all-powerful well-connected Hollywood public relations team,  once watching over him with hawk-like precision.

Cruise has never recovered from the fallout.

As to Bieber, well it’s not all roses, by any means.

For some inexplicable reason, TMZ has  chosen to knock the kid marvel (with a  No. 1 hit record and a posse of adoring fans "following"  every move).

On one segment, Harvey &  the kids gleefully referred to Bieber as a gruesome virus spreading around the Nation.

The mischievous gossip mongers tend to broadcast off-the-wall embarrassing photos, too, whenever they're offered up by a watchful paparazzi quick on the uptake.

For example, one cynical photog captured a shot of a Bieber billboard captioned - “My World” - atop a strip joint known as “Crazy Girls”.

I caught the whiz kid slip - and reveal  a cocky ill-mannered side - when he plunked his foot down on the coffee table during an appearance on the Jay Leno show.

Right about now, the industry is panting at the mouth, for a delicious Bieber scandal.

If God smiles on me, I may be the lucky one to break the news first.

Eat your heart out, Harvey!

Dave Letterman...catches twitter rage! Newbie notes lesbo Ellen boasts 4 mil followers...

Life is tweet!

Dave Letterman stepped out of the dark ages last night and crafted his first tweet!

A few seconds shy of the momentous event, the toothy talk show host - like a kid with a new toy (or an old letch with a hot new babe) - rambled off a handful of statistics with elation.

"Oprah gets three million tweets," he excitedly pointed out to his rapt audience.

PC savvy bandleader Paul Shaffer was inclined to toss in a comment from the sidelines at this juncture.

"Followers, Dave. Not tweets."

The scandal-ridden late show personality was a bit confused about the semantics of the ongoing twitter trends floating internet surfers'  boats around the globe.

Amused, Dave corrected himself.

"And it says here," Dave interjected with glee, "that Ellen DeGeneres has four million."

There were some oohs and aahs from the audience

"But," Dave chuckled,"I expect most of those are lesbians, so it probably doesn't count."

The audience howled.

Dave giggled for being so naughty.

Since Ellen and her fans follow moi, I'll tweet this little update on Dave, so they'll be sure to get their t**s all-a-twitter over the less-than-tweet comment Dave uttered at the witching hour last night.

Surprsingly, the Dave Letterman show could only boast a paltry three thousand "followers", according to Letterman, who was surprisingly mum on the Tiger Woods dilemma.

"That's because people don't know you tweet, Dave," Shaffer comforted him from his lofty perch on the sideliness off-stage.

Also, birds of a feathe, tweet together, I surmise (in private and away from the likes of facebook friends who press their ears close to the wall, I expect).

With a bit of fanfare, a staffer plunked a computer down in front of Dave, and strolled off.

"They've brought me this twitter machine so I can tweet," Dave mischievously pointed out to his die-hard fans hanging on every word.

"That's a lap top computer, Dave," the bandleader pointed out.

The virgin tweetie was a bundle of nervous energy and raring to boldly twitter where none of the Letterman clan had ever ventured tweetly before.

As Dave started to key in a word or two, Schaffer was about to interrupt again, when Dave shooed him off.

"Paul, please. I'm doing something here."

A second after he turned back to the keyboard, he whirled around - gazed into camera with a schoolboy's expression of joy and wonder on his face - and noted some important information to be mindful of.

"Oh, you can only use 140 characters, too. So, if there is an emergency or something, forget it."

Once Dave managed to key in a tweet, he was in a quandry about how to proceed.

"What now?"

A handfulf of knowledgeable tweeters in the studio instructed Dave to hit enter.

Once done, he was a bit perplexed.

"Well, did it go," he wondered aloud in so many words.

Apparently Dave failed to strike the update button, but - once done - the twitter newbie proudly learned his tantalizing message was "received".

What were the first words spoken - and sent whizzing across the blogosphere - at the twitter site?

"Do you smell fried peppers and veal?"

"I thought I smelled fried peppers and veal just as I was about to tweet," Dave dead-panned to the camera.

I expect there will be a few hilarious replies this morning from Dave's followers.

In fact, now that Dave is a celebrated twitter aficiando, I expect his number of follows will leap.

I just signed on "to follow" Dave for curiosity sake.

Just how good a speller do 'ya think Dave is, after all?

Oprah Winfrey...packin' it in! Cable waits in the wings with baited talk-show breath...

Hold on a sec, precious!

Oprah Winfrey - the undisputed Queen of the talk-show fest - is going to pack it in after opening up her yap non-stop (without gargling or gagging once) for the past twenty-four years.

The popular day-time hostess swears that her proposed exit from mainstream TV's evil clutches next year is a voluntary one - calculated to ensure that she alights gracefully from her powerful mid-day perch on network heaven - while she is at the top of her game.

In my estimation, Oprah finally conceded in her heart of all hearts, that a decline in popularity lurks in the shadows ahead, in the event she lingers on.

Events that unfolded this past year appear to signal that little inevitability.

For the first time since the cattle-rancher fiasco reared its ugly head a scant few years ago, Oprah was the brunt of a lot of nasty jokes, bad press, and biting criticism from the media, the public-at-large, and a posse of once-devoted fans for a myriad of scandalous reasons.

In respect to the Barack Obama endorsement for the presidency, for starters,.

For example - when the feisty talk-show host (prone to give away luxury cars at the drop-of-a-hat to win over freeloaders and twist arms of the high-and-mighty) first stepped into the political arena to throw her weight (which was considerable) behind Barack Obama's bid for the White House - a bunch of loud-mouthed opponents cried out bloody-murder.

The way the presidential candidate trotted around behind Oprah like a faithful little puppy dog was downright embarrassing - undignified - to say the least.

Oprah sleeping in the Lincoln bedroom?

No way, Jose.

Others got on the - "down with the talk-show diva" bandwagon - when the ever-elastic Oprah began touting new-age heatlh remedies not formally recognized as legitimate medical treatments by reputable doctors or even the FDA.

To some Americans, Oprah was starting to sound like a cheesey snake-oil salewoman, with a nasty overbite

At Friday's taping - for good reason - Oprah elected to cite the reasons she was allegedly closing down shop to viewers directly (in a bold-faced effort to quell any rumors flying-round town)

"After much prayer and months of careful thought, I have decided that next season, season 25, will be the last season of  "The Oprah Winfrey Show," she stated matter-of-fact with nary a crocodile tear.

"Over the next couple of days, you may hear a lot of speculation in the press about why I am making this decision now (well, yeah!)...and that will mostly be conjecture."

Oprah, just invite me over to the manse for the weekend, and I'm sure I'll be able to fathom things out!

Before there was an opportunity to respond to my offer, though, the portly matron was egged on by her handlers - no doubt - to toss in a few more newsbites for the incredulous to chew on for a nail-biting nano-second or two.

"So why walk away and make next season the last? Here is the real reason: I love this show," she clucked wholeheartedly to the rapt live audience in tow.

"This show has been my life. And I love it enough to know when it's time to say good-bye. Twenty-five years feels right in my bones, and it feels right in my spirit. It's the perfect number -  the exact right time. So I hope that you will take this 18-month ride with me right through to the final show."

Well, as long as you toss in a luxury automobile now and then, for old-times sake, girl!

Is it all a ploy to coax bigger bucks from the brass in the executive suite next contract talks?

According to Harpo Productions (the company that produces the Oprah Show currently) she "...plans to appear and participate in new programming for "OWN: The Opray Winfrey Network"...a 24-hour cable network that reflects her vision, values, and interests."

The project has been set for production for January 2011, according to the terse release.

Sounds like a losing proposition to me!

Winfrey thanked her viewers for sticking with her for almost a quarter of a century at that juncture.

"These years with you, our viewers, have enriched my life beyond all measure," she said. "And you all have graciously invited me into your living rooms, into your kitchens, and into your lives. And for some of you long time Oprah viewers, you have literally grown up with me - we've grown together."

And apart, dahlink!

You became too haughty and big for your britches for me to stay tuned in, Oprah - in my estimation - so there!

"So I just wanted to say that whether you've been here with me from the beginning or you came on board last week, I want you all to know that my relationship with you is one that I hold very dear. And your trust in me, the sharing of your precious time every day with me has brought me the greatest joy I have ever known."

And, blah blah blah, as we say in the blog industry!!!

Actually, Shakespeare said it best:

"Parting is such sweet sorrow."

Bad hair day for Barack's sugar momma!

Oprah Winfray...ranks low for baby-sitting duty! Popularity slipping?

It was obviously a blow to Oprah's ego and her goody-two-shoes image when the results of a recent poll taken over the Mother's Day weekend indicated that the hefty talk-show host ranked at the bottom of the pile when it came to baby-sitting duties.

When parents were asked who they would trust most to watch over their kiddies, a mere nine per cent polled were willing to hand over the diapers and baby powder to the Big "O".

Were they worried she might cram too many twinkies down their virgin throats?

Or, just maybe, the poll has signalled that folks at home are tired of Oprah throwing her weight around (which is considerable) in territory considered off-limits - in the realm of politics - for instance.

Yeah, Opie, stick to the gab fests.

But, be sure to give away a few cars now and then, too.

Just maybe, it will appease a few folks around the Nation losing their humble dwellings in foreclosure, while you sit on your high horse in a $50 million mansion without a care in the world.

Curiously, Ellen DeGeneres and her lipstick lesbo wife - Portia - rated No. 1.

Just goes to show 'ya!

A "different strokes for different folks" kind-of-approach to social and political issues appears to have more widespread appeal in middle America.

In the same poll, Courtney Love as named "worst Mom".

But, that's another tawdry tale!

Oprah Winfrey...twitters! There goes the neighborhood! Some cry foul...

Geek meets twit!

Your head must have been in a toilet or something for the past twenty-four hours if you didn't hear the news about Oprah Winfrey and "twitter".

Yes, Ms. Smarty (overstuffed) pants has ventured into the 21st Century by signing up!

Understandably, Oprah needed someone to hold her hand.
The idea of it was so revolutionary, and frightful, after all!

On her daytime talk fest Friday, the founder of "Twitter" was at the side of goody-two-shoes, as she browsed around the Twitter site all agog at the potential of it all.

One light bulb definitely went off inside her head.

'A great way to keep track of Steadman' (or any other eligible beau waiting in the wings in Tweetville) must have been one mental note she made to herself.

Twitter just might be what the fad doctor ordered to keep the feisty gabber from falling of the diet wagon, too.

All Oprah has to do is "tweet" one her new pals about a deep-fried oreo she's about to wolf down - when, I expect - a host of die-hard fans will step in and pull-the-plug on that naughty bit of self-indulgence from the get-go.

And, what about those new "best buds", anyway?

According to a news item in the morning paper, Oprah sauntered into the twitter arena with 70,000 "followers" right off-the-bat.

L. Ron Hubbard must be turning over in his grave somewhere in Science Fiction heaven!

Meanwhile, the morning air waves were awash with cries of "foul".

"How the heck did she do that?" one envious bimbo babe was inclined to ask increduously of her fellow squawkers on air.

"She got 'em to give her all those tweeters," one sly disc jockey accused off-the-cuff.

Aghast, a female gossip-monger on the popular morning show lamented:

"Is that legal?"

"Sure," a jock quick on-the-uptake quipped cynically.

"Twitter's chief twit probably offered Oprah a twaddle of tweeters as an incentive if she'd sign up for the popular social hub during a live broadcast on her afternoon talk show."

Ashton Kutcher must feel old money bags breathing down heavy on his pretty lily-white a**.

Nothwitstanding, some fear that twitter has tweaked!

When mainstream folks like Oprah jump on board, the once-hip ship is sure to sink, savvy trend-pundits theorize.

"Twittering is not tweet any more, dudes!"

Even face-book is suffering a backlash.

Some whine that all this kissy-kissy "be my friend" stuff has gotten so candy-ass that it doesn't pass the smell taste anymore.

Yup, I'm going to start up a "book" rife with a gang of "enemy" Internet snots, I'll be able to take a "poke" at whenever I'm in the mood for a nasty bit** fight.

Here's mud in your eye!

Josh Groban...fan club accused of hanky-panky. Housewifes' panties wet for crooner, say some!

Housewives want a piece of him...

Over the past couple of days, I ventured into the kookie world of Josh Groban fans, after I penned a post a handful of his adoring followers took exception to.

The snippet on the popular songbird was written in response to a swipe that a local Los Angeles Times journalist took at Groban in the "overrated" section of the weekend paper.

While I wouldn't label Groban's performance on the Emmy Awards "cheesy" - per se (as the writer was inclined to characterize it) - I felt the occcasion an appropriate one to note for the record that I found the singer's voice too "trained" (and hence) somewhat limited in appeal.

When I hit the publish button - I half-expected an angry piece of hate mail or two to fly my way - (I'm a big bruiser and I wasn't born yesterday 'ya know?) but I wasn't prepared for the can of worms about to be unleashed.

Juvenile, or what?

Within minutes, fans were posting comments based on the wildest assumptions.

For instance, one dude lamented that I knew nothing about Groban.

On the contrary, I've watched his career evolve since day one.

In fact - I was sitting ringside on the auspicious occasion when Josh first trotted nervously out under the big top - clinging to a superstar's apron strings.

Sure looked like a Mamma's boy, to me!

And, how could I ever have missed his father's glowing tributes on Oprah?

"One day, he'll just be known as the saviour - um - Josh."

Once his musical odyssey was launched - the crooner with the snoz and the fay way - proceeded to tackle all the old standards in a bold-faced effort to wow the crowds.

Safe bet, to be sure.

Why take risks?

Mediocrity is the opiate of the masses, after all.

Since I am a reviewer, I was inclined to mention in the post that Josh has a distinctive timber to his voice (which greatly appeals) and a richness to his notes (that tend to rev up romantic notions).

But, in the final analysis, I noted his voice was "too trained".

To some, it grates on the nerves.

Another fan argued that I didn't know what I was talking about in respect to the sound (no pun intended) argument I put forth.

On the contrary, I studied music.

Also, I was born into a family of musicians. My father, for instance, was a violinist. And, my Aunt was also a well-known Opera singer in her day (who also taught piano).

Notwithstanding, I am also a singer!

Not only am I a better vocalist than Josh - but my voice is more distinctive - too.

At this juncture, things got a little nasty.

Granted there were a few sane comments from "grobanites" - siding with me in many respects - which were duly published, of course.

Flattery will get you everywhere at my blog, after all!
.
In fact, I may have struck up a new friendship or two with a handful of disgruntled "grobanites".

But, we'll probably follow an old credo.

We won't discuss religion, or art, or politics - or Josh Groban!

One fan noted that if I was looking to "start something" I managed to do it.

"There are a whole bunch of nurturing hens around Josh," she warned me.

Gee, I was led to believe through the gossip mill, it was a gaggle of Queens!

My new poison pen pal proceeded to quip - that an allegation I made about Josh being a "whiner" - was real "low".

Oh, yeah?

Saying someone is a whiner is low?

Dear, you don't know the meaning of "low".

But, I'll hand it to you on a silver platter, if you please!

In closing, the wacky fan proceeded to make a veiled threat.

I'd better watch my back, apparently!

Well, I don't respond well to threats and intimidation tactics.

I won't be silenced by a brood of broad hens with a flair for the dramatic, either!

As I started to wrap up for the day, surprise comments arrived at the blog site, like manna from Heaven!

Ah, disgruntled "Grobies" were ready to spill the beans.

Here's what they raged:

September 30 2008 GoodByeGrobies

"You can pay to be his friend at the Friends of Josh Groban fan site then try being a newbie with a difference of opinion and the old-timers will rip you to pieces. It’s like being a dog ran off with it’s tail between it’s legs. They don’t take kindly to newbies. Don’t mess with the Grobanites…….I don’t anymore. I learned my lesson. I let my membership run out and will not renew. Josh will probably loose a lot of members this way."

At this point, the floodgates started to open.

"Journey" was quick on the uptake and ready to play Brutus.

September 30 2008 Journey

"Although I enjoy Josh’s voice immensely, I also realize he has a slightly goofy side to him. Yes, he was classically trained and I think if he had his own way he’d attempt more rock music, but his voice just isn’t that type of voice.

If you want to visit some off the wall fans, be a guest at the Josh Groban Corner Pub …. the woman who runs it, is as looney as they come in my opinion when it comes to Josh.

If she feels you have disrespected him, you will be on her sh*t list forever. If she ever read this blog, it will find a way to being a thread on her forum and you will be ripped to pieces."

But, here is my precious fave.

September 30 2008 MonkeyCat

You’re right on in your analysis of Groban’s fans. They are mostly middle-aged, bored, fat-ass housewives with nothing better to do than get their panties wet over a 27 y/o boy.

There’s even a cyber-fan “war” taking place with the aforementioned groupies ganging up on another fan who dares to be different. And Groban encourages it."

As Al Pacino would say, Who-ah!

I find it ironic that the Diva has this Nazi following.

Isn't Josh a nice little Jewish Boy, after all?

Well, to find out, I googled - um - did a search on him.

Boy, God must be smiling on me today.

I stumbled across this precious dialogue at the Yahoo Answers site.

Is Josh Groban Jewish?

Ignore the fact that he sings about Jesus and stuff. Neil Diamond has an entire Christmas album and he's Jewish. I'm talking plain facts here.
