Lindsay Lohan...back to rehab! Charlie Sheen & "Mean Girl" confound media hounds!

Lindsay on the move!

One minute, Lindsay Lohan was being hand-cuffed and hauled off to jail without mercy - in the next - the troubled starlet was being spirited away out a back door into a waiting limousine into the dead-of-night.

What the heck gives?

Media hounds were being run ragged and shaking their heads in frustration over the unexpected turn-of-events.

One thing was certain, though.

By the tail end of last week, the mind-boggling events surrounding the high-profile star, were starting to mirror the bad boy theatrics of Charlie Sheen which went down in Colorado just a scant few weeks ago.

For instance - on the heels of an insider tip that Charlie was about to cop a plea - a pack of overzealous paparazzi packed up their lenses and dashed off to the courthouse to catch the big scoop on celluloid.

Suddenly, without warning, it was a "no go".

No Sheen. No deal.

Back to square one!

Over the weekend, a similar fiasco unfolded on network TV, when two tabloid news shows rushed to report out-of-breath that Lindsay was in "jail" - and - denied bail.

In fact, she was not!

No, Sir!

Shortly after the entertainment reporters put their segments to bed - and the sensational news alerts flooded the airwaves - Lindsay had flown the coop!

Needless to say - the embarrassed gossip mongers (and media outlets that took a cue and followed suit) - ended up with recalled egg on the face.

But, not moi!

That's the beauty of being a blogger, after all.

With a flick of a finger - it's a snap to edit - and update the news!.

Though mainstream media types are prone to put down Internet writers - for lacking a background in journalism and what-have-you - at least bloggers can boast that their tripe is up-to-date and fresh out of the mouths of gossips!

No cigar for TV tabloid news!

Lindsay Lohan...warrant issued & stayed!! Paris & Lindsay's naughty diversions!

I let my hair down a bit!

OMG!

The two sultry sirens who once graced the slick pages of tony fashion magazines - starlet Lindsay Lohan and Heiress Paris Hilton - have been busy strutting the gangplank down at the local court house with their fates twisting in the wind as an ever-ravenous gang of  paparazzi have jockeyed for their best shot.

Yesterday, legal eagles for the chic par-tay babe in line for the Hilton fortune, wrangled with a Judge over a plea bargain for instance.

The bench warmer - who wasn't impressed with the pretty blonde's privileged background - ended up taking a swipe at the reality-show star.

http://ijulian.blogspot.com/2010/09/paris-hiltoncops-plea-gets-probation.html

Meanwhile, Lindsay Lohan waits for the other show to drop, as her legal counsel prepares for an upcoming hearing to determine the outcome of a alleged probation violation.

On her twitter site a scant few days ago, the troubled starlet confided that she tested positive for a drug test ordered on the fly by the court.

I reported on that incident, too.

http://ijulian.blogspot.com/2010/09/lindsay-lohanfesses-up-to-failing-drug.html

The response to the tell-all resulted in swift severe action by the Judge presiding over her case.

A warrant was issued for the "Mean Girls" star - and her 3-year probation was subsequently revoked - by the angry Jurist.

A short time later the warrant was rescinded - which I expect was brought about by lawyers working feverishly behind-the-scenes - to ensure Ms. Lohan would have a fair hearing on the issue.

Expect another huge crush of media hounds on the well-worn path to the court on Friday when Judge Eden Fox holds court once again.

I am surprised that a sharp enterprising producer hasn't tried to capitalize on the Hilton/Lohan debacles.

A film featuring the two high-profile "bad girls" has the potential to rustle up a welcome wicked diversion that would probably fair well at the Box Office.

I have a tentative working-title, too.

Fame...or dillusions of grandeur? Dark glasses keep folks at bay!

Normally, when I go about my business, I attempt to do so humbly and in a down-to-earth fashion as I maneuver my through the teaming masses all about me.

As I have noted previously, because of the high-profile nature of my posts at the Tattler - which run the gamut on a myriad of subjects both tame and controversial in nature - I am occasionally spotted in the crowd.

In fact, over the past few months the searing spotlight has become so intense, that I have found the phenomenon awkward to deal with now and then.

When folks spy me, then turn to friends and whisper.

Do you know who that is?

The experience tends to be a bit un-nerving.

Instead of moving on, folks tend to stand transfixed on the spot - as their jaw literally drops - and they take on the appearance of a deer caught in the headlights of an oncoming car.

At this juncture, I generally give a little nod of encouragement - hold myself up as gracefully as possible - and meander on out-of-harm’s way.

Over the weekend, I encountered an unpleasant confrontation, when I struck up a conversation with a fellow traveler on public transportation.

“You look familiar. What do you do,” the hefty young black African woman quizzed.

“Oh, I’m a writer,” I found myself uttering up.

“Really?” she asked wide-eyed.

Uh-huh!

“Do you just like to think you are, or do you make your living doing that,” she probed further.

For moment, it was refreshing to encounter an individual who was unfamiliar with my blog, and the fame recognition that came with it.

So, I was inclined to continue the conversation expecting the interchange to be innocent enough.

But, the woman’s mood quickly changed as I revealed a few facts.

“I have advertisers on my web site and they generates revenue,” I noted.

“They pay for ads,” she continued a tad perplexed.

She was obviously clueless about bloggers like myself, so I made a bold-faced effort to help her along.

“Do you know who Perez Hilton is,” I innocently asked at this juncture.

“Oh yes,” she responded with enthusiasm.

“Well, I’m kind-of-like Perez, but our styles are quite different.”

When I innocently revealed that on occasion I felt like I was an alien from outer space when browsers from the Internet recognized me on the street, she reacted angrily.

“Boy. You're so grandiose,” she accused, as she began to scrutinize me up close.

"What do you mean," I probed further, since her comment didn’t appear to make any sense in view of the way in which I handle my fame.

“No one recognizes you,,” she hissed.

“You’re just imagining it.”

Of course, I nearly laughed out loud, since the notion - in view of my daily experiences out in the public domain - was so wild and preposterous.

“I know who I am,” I found myself responding.

But, the strange encounter reminded me - that no matter how successful or famous an individual becomes  - there will always be someone who is out-of-the-loop.

Just last year, if I am not mistaken, Bob Dylan was thought to be a "bum” by some silly fool who didn’t recognize the musician wandering about his property.

Daily, there are many ironies that underscore the reality of fame (and how fleeting it is).

When a celebrity slips and falls into a prickly cactus bush, there is a posse of paparazzi there, who is at-the-ready to spring into action and capture the star-turn on film.

The same individual may walk into a bank to cash a check, and find themselves  rudely badgered by a cashier, who has no idea who the celebrity is.

In sum, it's a humbling experience, wise to pay heed to.

Otherwise, the “celebrity” will find themselves in an unpleasant exchange in which they end up being criticized for bellowing an old familiar lament to some common Joe in a restaurant or on the street.

“Don’t you know who I am?"

Ouch!

The scenario goes down, alright, but - when it does - it’s usually an unpleasant experience that leaves a bad taste in the mouth.

The jarring conduct of the woman taught me a lesson.

In the public arena, it’s best to slip gracefully among the common masses, with as little contact as possible.

The old-fashioned idea of striking up friendships with strangers by invitation only in accordance with polite society makes more practical sense in a global community that is fast-becoming cold and unfeeling and rife with bad manners and rude conduct.

I am reminded of an old biblical saying:

“Never throw pearls before swine.”

Amen!

Las Vegas...locals balmy! Something in the water?

Kristen Stewart feels raped!

Over the past few days as I have dashed around Las Vegas to carry out chores - and meet social obligations - it has become obvious to me as I have crossed paths with a handful of the locals toiling away in menial tasks jobs at business establishments around the desert oasis that something is awry!

Judging by their strange behavior, I surmise that the recent heat wave that has descended on the city, has made these day workers balmy (slow on the uptake).

Just maybe, there is something in the water that rots their brains?

If so, bottled water appears to be a safe way to go right now.

Last night I trotted up to the Golden Gate to take advantage of their player's card special which - 'til now - offered up scrumptious shrimp cocktail (with cocktail sauce & crackers) at $1.00 a pop.

Uh-huh!

The diner recently ended that promotion - so I found myself chowing down on one serving for twice the price - that turned out be less tastier than the original one they used to flog at the busy counter.

As I scarfed down the snack, a five-foot-nothing security guard - who looked for all-the-world like he'd been boozing 'round the clock for the past forty years of his sorry life - strode up, stopped within two feet of my table, and proceeded to act in a bizarre manner.

In fact, his conduct was so stratling, that guests turned their heads quizzically this way 'n that, trying to fathom the dude's strange! behavior.

Obviously, he recognized moi, and was inclined to get an up-close gander.

Whenever I happened to glance in his direction - how could I not in view of the fact he was hovering over me rudely as I attempted to finish my snack - he turned his head nervously to avoid eye contact in a sly effort to avoid detection.

Fat chance!

He was a subtle as an elephant in heat!

How ironic!

The security guard the Hotel hired - ended up triggering feelings of insecurity and doubt in their guests - by virtue of lunatic conduct that was totally unacceptable.

At other retail outlets over the past week - counter-workers (more often-than-not) - literally froze on the spot when I strode up to the cash register.

If you ask me, their expressions tended to suggest, that they had just pooped their pants.

At Walmart, one teenager rang up the charges and handed me back my change, but neglected to present my groceries which were tucked down below beyond easy reach.

As he stood there awestruck, I awkwardly reached down, and plucked up the bag myself.

Unfortunately, when I arrived at my vehicle in the parking lot, my strawberries were nowhere in sight.

I dashed back into the store and quizzed the dazed box boy.

"What did you do with my stawberries?"

Without uttering a word, he reached under the counter, and coughed them up.

No apology!  No nothing!

Today, when I sauntered into Walgreen's to pick up the morning edition of the Los Angeles Times, a down-and-out security guard with gnarled features spied me as he was exiting the front door.

Imagine that, he immediately turned on his heel, and followed me inside - where he proceeded to gawk at me as I tried to withdraw cash with a modicum of privacy - or at least without his prying eyes raping my every movement.

Thanks for that Kristen Stewart!

A right on appraisal of the nonsensical conduct of unsophisticated clods with no class!

At least I don't have the paparazzi pushing me into cactus plants like some celebrities.

I expect that if the public fascination continues (shouldn't these boring folks get a life?) - and likewise intensifies to a degree that is overwhelming - that I will have to audition muscle-bound studs to assume the role of "bodyguard" when I venture out.

Well, I guess there are some perks to being famous.

Fame...they come out of the woodwork!

My favorite piece of architecture in Hog Town!

They’re right!

Once you become famous people (scumbags?) come out of the woodwork.

For example, I was just in Pavillions this morning at the automated cashier, when I suddenly spied - what I would have to call a vague acquaintance through social circles in NYC over twenty years ago - lurking a few feet away.

With no groceries in hand, or shopping cart in sight, it suddenly dawned on  me that he was surreptiously observing me.

Indeed, when I noticed his presence, he started to warble one of those fake whistles as he strode across my path in a sly effort to "unexpectedly" run into me.

What a creep.

I hastily moved on.

Just recently, a middle-aged woman contacted me through my facebook e-mail, and noted that because we were relatives we should stay in touch.

I proceeded to ignore her, at which point, she zipped off an e-mail in which she lamented:

“I’m going to put you on my facebook page” in a tone that appeared to scream:

“So there!

Now, there was no doubt in my mind that I hould give this looney-tunes character a wide berth.

A couple of years ago, I managed to connect with a long-lost brother by mail that I was separated from at about age 7, though, which turned out to be a rewarding experience.

So, one summer on a trip to Toronto, we agreed to meet.

Of course, it was fifty years since we last saw each other in person.

Each morning, I would wake up and catch sight of  my brother Wayne trot into the bathroom to wash up - and carefully don a white or blue shirt, jacket, and tie - before heading out the front door.

I was left behind in my PJ's to munch down on cheerios and watch cartoons on the latest amazing invention: the television!

When I strolled up his front walk that fated day, I was immediately taken by the fact, that Wayne was blessed with my mother’s vivid blue eyes.

To this day, I can rustle up an image in my mind, of those remarkable peepers which mesmerized everyone in her presence.
.
At the time of our reunion, my brother was residing on Lamb St.  in the East End of Toronto, in a home he and his wife Mary (since deceased) once shared with her father (a Fire Chief).

It was a difficult time for Wayne because - although the quaint little cottage had been "willed" to his wife - after she passed (13 years of marriage) it was discovered that her father neglected to have the will signed anf witnessed by an attorney.

Fortunately, my brother's in-laws had a heart.

Although Mary's two brothers weren’t inclined to allow my brother to take full ownership, they agreed to split the house into three shares - one for Wayne -and one for each surviving sibling.

The brothers  initially allowed for a time of mourning, but, soon began to pressure my brother into selling the property.

I noticed right away that in its current state of disrepair that there would only be low-ball offers.

A bit of renovation - and landscaping - might improve its curbside appeal - and likewise - boost the potential sale price.

But, the “brothers” were anxious to get the property off their hands, and move on.

Needless to say, Wayne was under a lot of stress, and depressed at the thought of relocating.
There were so many fond memories of moments he and his wife shared together in their home that were difficult to shake.

To help ease the pressure, Wayne and I would jump in a used vehicle he had recently purchased, and take day-trips North of Toronto where we explored quaint little towns and rummaged  through yard sales and out-of-the-way  shops.

Ah, we had a common interest in antiques!

My brother was hooked on the horse races, by the way, as were  my mother (deceased) and older brother (deceased).

Wayne was a ballsy gambler, too.

When he was down to a couple of bucks, he’d pick a long shot, and end up a winner.

He must have had horseshoes up his a** or - just maybe - it was the luck of the Irish, eh?

I was also amazed at his good fortune when it came to a bet that required the gambler pick three horses - and their correct placement in each specific race - during the course of the afternoon.

Although I surmised that the odds (mathematics bearing down on the situation) were against him - but time and time again - he hit the jackpot.
Whenever I accompanied my older brother to the track (Woodbine) I usually partook in the exciting Sport of Kings.

Unlike Wayne - who based his bets on track record, blood lines, and the competition in the race - I usually bet on a horse based on the name (especially  if I got a psychic impression it was the way to go).

Wayne (and the staff at the ticket line) were amazed at my constant wins!

Unfortunately, I am a cautious with my bets.

Because I only plunked down $2 or $3 for a - win, place, or show ticket - my winnings never amounted to more than 30 bucks!

But, at least I didn't go home broke with hat in hand.

But the adrenalin rush when your horse dashes across the finish line is exhilarating.

On occasion when we went shopping at second-time-around (vintage?) clothing stores, I'd laugh when Wayne would make a beeline for the wildly-pattered silk short-sleeved Hawaiian shirts which he teamed up with a jaunty hat and stylish shorts.

I can't stand those shirts!

A few weeks ago he remembered my birthday.

So, I may have to venture into Goodwill or Out-of-the-Closet to locate a snazzy addition for his collection, since his birthday is on the horizon (easy to recall 7/11).

He remembered mine in May, which was a total shocker.

I guess I'll toss in a sexy Birthday Card (he adores women) and a racing form to boot!

It's kind of comforting to know you're not alone in the world, eh?

Steve Cojocaru...looking alot like Chastity Bono! TMZ antics...

One of the tabloid shows caught fashion designer Steve Cojocaru in an erotic mood on a busy Manhattan Street yesterday.

OMG!

Is it my warped mind, or is the style aficiando starting to look alot like the former Chastity Bono?

Cojocaru was silent (and unaware he was being oberserved) as he gazed on a handful of stunning IMAN  images in a display window at a retail outlet.

When the paparazzi drew closer they were taken aback.

The dizzy aloof designer was staring at the graphic image of a very large penis.

At this point, the slightly-out-of-it rag-pusher turned to camera and gushed his approval.

"It's perfect."

At this point, the naughty kids from TMZ (who else?) broke into a chorus of song.

"How much is that penis in the window!"

They're all a little wacky, if you ask me.

Celebrity...Sarah Palin & I have something in common! Autograph, please...

Fame!

Now, I'm beginning to fully understand what talk show hosts mean, when they probe their celebrity guests as to whether they can still go "out".

Of course, heartthrobs like Justin Bieber get mobbed on sight, heightening the possibility that the pint-sized performer might get crushed in a madcap rush.

Even famous people - of a lesser degree of visability - encounter awkward or unsettling moments when they stray alone into the real world.

Frankly, it wasn't until I roared into Vegas a few days ago, that it dawned on me that the curse of fame had descended upon me, too.

For some inexplicable reason, as quick as a wink, my mug has become instantly recognizable among the masses which startles and amazes me.

I'm not starring in my own night-time drama, after all.

Not yet, at least!

Say, what about a reality show featuring my blog?

Wonders never cease!

But, back to my tale of debauchery and fame.

When I am sitting in traffic these days - a thousand eyes from all vantage points turn in my direction - and I am forced to twiddle my thumbs and act nonchalantly for sanity's sake until the frigging light changes!

In fast-food take-out joints, a sort-of sleeping paralysis takes hold, when  the patrons learn of my identity one by one.

After a man and his wife spied me on the street yesterday, the lady looked back and hesitated.

"Should  I say something," she wondered aloud in a slight whisper.

Needless to say, I moved on.

I wasn't up to a close encounter of the third kind.

One of the funniest incidents occurred at McDonalds over the weekend.

As I noted in a previous post, the Wi-Fi was down at my Hotel, so I dashed out with computer in hand to avail myself of the free access at an outlet just across from the Sahara Hotel.

As this locaton, however, there was only one plug available for patrons.

So, I plunked down - plugged in - and tuned out.

As I was in the midst of polishing a paragraph, I had a burning sensation that someone's eyes were fixed tightly on me.

When I looked up, I was startled to find myself eyeball-to-eyeball with a motorist.

Uh-huh.

Turns out the drive-thru order station was just a few inches beyond my comfy perch on the other side of the picture window.

Without fail, every few minutes or so - when a hungry driver pulled up to order fries and a burger  - the scenario would start up all over again ad nauseam.

On each occasion, I slumped lower and lower in my chair, in a clandestine effort to hide my identity.

Later, I kicked myself.

I suppose I should have crafted a sign in an elegant script and offered up my autograph at $5.00 a pop.

Kidding!

One morning a twenty-something male actually followed me for about three blocks.

But, if he thought he was "tailing" me without my knowledge, he was dead-wrong.

I took a course in private investigations and was taught quite a few cool skills that come in handy to this day.

It is particularly disconcerting when I am lost in thought (reflecting on the right turn of a phrase for a post perhaps ) and it suddenly becomes painfully obvious - that I am being scrutinized from all-manner of folks from myriad walks of life within a twenty-or-thirty-foot perimeter (and then some).

OMG!

Did I appear to be talking to myself?

I have noticed these days that a few Latinos stare at me, probably because I gave the nod to the Nevada Governor, to sign into law the controversial Immigration Reform Bill.

You betcha.

Sarah Palin and I finally have one thing in common.

We're both on the Latino "hit" list.

Sometimes the behavior of some folks astounds me.

For example, I was on a shuttle bus provided by a Hotel one fine day, when I stood up and started to exit the bus.

I suddenly noticed  a woman - in a seat just forward - waiting for me to pass by first.

"Go ahead, Miss," I instructed politely.

A curious scenario also unfolds when I approach an open door around the same time others are about to enter it, too.

The strangers suddenly acquiesce (slow down) to allow me to go first.

I scoff at the notion that I deserve preferential treatment for some inexplicable reason.

I'll let you in on a secret, though.

The whole experience is quite exhausting.

Because I am constantly in the public eye, I am forced to maintain an energy level on par with my image, which can be a pretty draining charade to keep up in spite of the fact I am a robust man physically, mentally, and spiritually.

At times, I feel like I am walking in a dream world, when the madding crowd gazes on.

There is a thin line between reality and illusion, after all.

I try to stay grounded and down-to-earth for survival's sake.

With the knowledge that God appears in the humblest of places, of course!

Lindsay Lohan...@ Millions of Milkshakes! Paparazzi frenzy means $$$...

When Lindsay Lohan strode into "Millions of Milkshakes" (the local Celebrity hang-out) in WeHo the other evening - paparazzi, as usual - were in hot pursuit.

A media frenzy errupted in gay gulch @ Santa Monica & San Vicente as celebrity stalkers jockeyed for position.

One naive young dude shook his head, later.

"I don't get it, Crazy. Why do they stand outside the window taking her picture?"

I laughed.

Obviously, the kid was not in the topsy-turvy business.

I noted that Lindsay was the center of a media storm - right now - partly because of her unexpected witching-hour antics.

"She just got canned from a movie project. Is apparently in debt. And, some say, on the edge of a mental and emotional breakdown."

Also, because of Linday's tendency to fall down and go boom, the paparazzi wants to be there to catch it on film and reap the rewards.

"Huh," he stuttered.

"Well, recently she fell into a cactus bush. The photographer who caught that quirky moment on camera  probably nabbed some big bucks for the shot if it was the best "capture" any of the paparazzi submitted to the news agencies," I added.

"They're probably hoping she'll trip and spill a goey celebrity milkshake all over her cocktail dress."

"Oh," he chuckled.

"Or," I mused, "Spill one on her to get the shot."

Then, was it my imagination, or did it appear that a light bulb went off inside the dude's calculating little brain?

Uh-huh, just betcha, he's going to dash out and buy a camera.

Next week, I expect I'll spy him shoving his way into the pack of wolves for a lion's share of the profits.

Millions of Milkshakes has become quite the hot spot, in WeHo, anyway.

Inside, the atmosphere is quite upbeat and visually stimulating.

Throughout the day, clips of celebrities concocting their own shakes on the premises, are featured on  wide screens dotted about the ice-cream outlet.

There is even a Celebrity GPS tracker to follow the where-abouts of  high-profile stars!

Of course, die-hard fans can also plunk down a few hard-earned bucks, to sip on one of their favorite milkshakes, too.

See 'ya there!

Pssst!

Pam Anderson can oft be spotted at Millions of Shakes on Santa Monica.
Her vegan Milkshake is on tap, so give it a whirl!

Fame...quote!

The other day when I cruised into the drive-thru bumper-to-bumper at the fast-food joint - Jack-in-the-box - the perky little server started to hand my order over to me, when her eyes suddenly went wide.

"Don't I know you?" she asked, with an incredulous tone in her voice, as her body slipped into a frozen mode behind the counter.

Yup, I'm familiar with that creeping paralysis wherever I go these days!

Within seconds, the hapless employee recognized me.

What good fortune to have crossed paths with a celebrity!

When I jokingly mentioned the incident to a friend, his response was priceless.

"If they recognize you at take-out at Jack-in-the-box you must be famous."

Brad Pitt...hates the paparazzi! Naive actor takes the cash but neglects obligation...

Why all the cheesecake if you don't like to show it off?

Apparently Brad Pitt revealed on a network TV show that he "hates" the paparazzi.

In fact, Jolie's golden boy had some amusing thoughts to add to that.

"Let me be blunt: I hate them. I hate these people. I don't understand...that they do that for a living."

Brad, you're either very naive, or you forgot what it's like to be a struggling actor.

I say: tough ti**y!

Having to "deal" with the paparazzi is part of the nature of the best.

Brad - do you think that fans go to your films, rent one of your movies, or snatch up a magazine with your mug on the front cover - because they respect you for your acting?

Frankly, for the most part, no.

Let's face it, you're a pretty boy with chiseled abs.

That's your appeal, sorry!

Fans fantasize about you, lust after your body, and pine for a glimpse into your private life.

No, not just the one you inhabit in a role on screen.

The photos you complain about facilitate that essential aspect of the "business".

If you are not aware of that "reality", it's time to turn in your SAG card, and try your hand at selling real estate.

Or move to Europe, curse America ever after, and become a recluse.

Yes, Brad - in case you weren't aware of it - the film industry is a part of an intricate concern known as Hollywood's dream factory.

Brad Pitt is a cog in it.

Granted, I agree with you that the paparazzi should not - as you pointed out in your interview - climb over walls around the perimeters of your private property or call out your children's names as you're dropping them off at school in order to land an exclusive still.

That is wrong.

Instead of whining about, though, do something constructive.

Organize a band of supporters, draft an initiative, and submit it to Los Angeles City Council.

Or, put it on a ballot in the next election.

Whatever.

You say you don't understand that "they" do that for a living.

Heh, maybe photo journalists have a family to support.

Did you never sign on for a turkey - let's face it Brad, two of your last films were real stinkers - just for the big bucks?

When I reflect on your career - and that of others - one thing appears obvious.

On the rise up, actors tend to be so kissy-kissy with the fans, Accommodating to the media, and on-the-ready to offer up the gift of the gab in order to slyly maneuver their way onto the cover of People or GQ.

You name it.

Then, once a high-profile star has managed to secure a financial footing - and likewise, stash a little moolah in the bank - they turn the screws.

"The hell with 'ya. Who needs the likes of you."

Yes, that's the ungrateful lament of the day.

No man is an island, Mr. Pitt, and when you turn your back on your bread-and-butter, that message may come home to roost crystal clear.

Thank your lucky stars you've had such a successful run.

Keep up the nonsense and you'll be starring in half-hour infomercials on cable at 3 a.m nightly.

Made you need to eat a bit of humble pie to get your priorities straight!

Keanu Reeves...appears in court in role as defendant! Paparazzi altercation takes foray into celebrity realms...

Keanu Reeves appeared on the witness stand yesterday - starring in a scene - which was obviously coached by an attorney.

For the jury, the whole fiasco was a fascinating peek into the world of celebrity and the pitfalls of fame in the underbelly of Hollywood.

Reeves was there to offer up a defense to an allegation that he ran down and injured an overzealous member of the paparazzi arising from a stake-out incident which occurred last year on a dark street in Rancho Palos Verdes.

Allegedly, the photographer - Alison Silva - ambushed Reeves in an aggressive attempt to secure stills of the popular actor which he intended to sell for cash to the highest bidder.

After he was cornered in his vehicle, Reeves attempted to move forward in his Porsche, when the ballsy upstart stood in the way and was summarily hit by the slow-moving vehicle.

Mr. Silva is suing Reeves for allegedly causing a "career-ending" injury to his wrist as a result of the fender-bender.

Based on the testimony provided by Reeves in court yesterday, I am inclined to side with the popular star.

For example, when asked if Mr. Silva was disrespectful, he curtly replied.

"He wasn't rude per se."

I expect that most guilty parties - anxious to get out of the fix - would have taken the occasion to accuse the party of being pushy and belligerent - whatever - to justify their actions to the court.

Because Mr. Reeves didn't take this approach, I am inclined to believe his account of things.

In addition, the Matrix Trilogy hero testified, that he nudged his luxury roadster forward a bit, to signal he intended to go on his way.

Under the same set of circumstances, I expect that any number of people would have responded the same way.

Was Mr. Reeves supposed to just sit there and have his liberty restricted by an individual who was obviously intruding upon his "body" space?

If the hopped-up photog chose to remain in front of the vehicle as it moved forward, he did so at his own peril, in my estimation.

Silva testified that he ambushed Reeves with the intent of hopefully catching the sexy stud exiting with a girlfriend in tow.

At this juncture, he revealed to a fascinated jury, that Reeves was what the paparazzi referred to as a "shark".

A shark, he elaborated, is a term used to describe a big star who rarely ventures out.

"Photos of Reeves, therefore, bring a higher price."

The trial continues.

Brad Pitt...attends screening at Toronto International Film Festival!

Brad Pitt was seen ducking in a back door of a Theatre at the Toronto International Film Festival when he attended a screening of the new Coen Brothers' feature film "Burn After Reading".

Was the studly film star trying to avoid the paparazzi, the fans, or the movie critics?

Belmont Cafe...trendy eatery with surprise guests! West Hollywood.

The Belmont Cafe - at 747 N. La Cienega - is one of those chic little boites just a hop-and-a-skip away from trendy Melrose Avenue.

Usually - there is a swirl of social activity out front - as glittering celebs and a handful of the tony elite purr up in their pricey top-of-the-line autos where a sharp brigade of smartly-attired Valets are ready to do their bidding.

Not to be outdone - a hair's breath away - a pack of hungry photographers jockey for position. If the professional snappers are lucky, they'll snag a candid shot of an A-list actor as he alights from his vehicle or returns later a bit tipsy.

Last evening as I strolled through the gauntlet on the bustling street in front of the upscale eatery, by chance, I happened to gaze up.

Ha! I spied a hilarious sign that would cause Jay Leno to chortle, for sure.

It read,

"We have crabs."

Golly!

Remind me not to sit on the toilet seat in their mensroom in the future, please!

Lindsay Lohan...lesbo? Chief Bratton sullies color of authority by alleging so!

Rainbow colors hint at sexual persuasion...

Lesbians around the country were obviously titillated this morning when they opened their morning daily to read Lindsay Lohan allegedly turned gay!

The revelation popped out of the mouth of Chief William Bratton at an inaugural meeting for a task force of elected officials, law enforcement leaders, and others seeking to regulate what they perceive as frenzied irresponsible conduct by the local paparazzi whenever they are in search of their celebrity targets.

Yes, the heated debate is revving up once again.

Although singer John Mayer and actor Eric Roberts turned up ready to toss their two cents worth in, Chief Bratton was ready to call it a day.

In fact, he declared the ballsy effort a farce!

"If you notice, since Britney started wearing clothes, Paris is out of town and not bothering anybody anymore, thank God, and evidently Lindsay Lohan has gone gay, we don't seem to have much of an issue."

In sum - he argued that existing laws were sufficient to curb the lens hounds - but not before accusing "misbehaving stars" of being the cause of ninety-percent of the problem.

And, he pointed an accusing finger at City Councilman Dennis P. Zine, for needlessly fanning the flames.

Zine was quick to a throw a deft one-two punch back!

"They (paparazzi) act like a pack of wolves stalking their prey. What we're trying to do is prevent a tragedy from happening."

Then, he zeroed in on Bratton for acting inappropriately under the color of authority.

In fact, the irate politician has asked the Police Commission to investigate Bratton's comments about Lohan's alleged sexual orientation. In support of his complaint, he noted for the record that any regular police officer on the force would be investigated and possibly disciplined for making such an outlandish remark while on the City payroll.

Bratton countered by lamenting that controlling the paparazzi was like trying to "herd cats".

Maybe that's why the focus on Lohan's pu**y came to the fore.

Still waiting to hear from Lindsay's camp!
