Anne Hathaway...cast as Catwoman! Meow!

Just goes to show 'ya - when you rustle up a high-profile in the biz almost overnight (in addition to turning in a couple of stellar screen characterizations in big box-office features along the way) - that the world is your oyster.

This especially appears to be true for the flavor of the month - talented actress and red-carpet head-turner - Anne Hathaway!

Shortly after starring opposite sexy Jake Gyllenhaal in "Love & Other Drugs", Ms. Hathaway has been handed the plum pussy role of "Catwoman" on a silver platter with a nod from celebrated director Christopher Nolan.

According to handlers, Hathaway is slated to lens the much-anticipated franchise sequel - "The Dark Knight Rises" - in the very near future.

Meow!

Now, Ms. Hathaway follows in a long line of distinguished oft-remembered screen Goddesses - who slipped into the feline costume with ease- in a myriad of TV & Film projects of yesteryear.

Of course, I am referring to luminaries such as Julie Newmar, Michelle Pfeiffer, Lee Meriweather and - who could forget? - oh-so-organic Eartha Kitt!

I expect that Hathaway will scratch up a storm - or at a minimum pull off a delicious tease - given the chance.

Later!

UCLA...research library staff in petty tiffs over affection of stray cat!

Sometimes people literally astound me with their lunacy!

Take the female staff at the UCLA Research library, for example.

When I first began venturing up to the facility a few weeks ago, I spied a beautiful stray cat which skirted the employees whenever they entered or exited the building.

A couple of the older women (overweight and obviously single) would trot up to the feline beauty and attempt to stroke his lustrous fur.

In response, he'd high-tail it out of there; so, they were left with the option to cast a few morsels of food on the ground and gaze longingly from the sidelines as he gobbled up the snack.

A short while after I began to visit the library on a regular basis, the cat was soon striding up to me, rubbing his body next to mine - and quite generally - acting like he was my own personal house pet.

Of course, that didn't sit well with the menopause ladies!

Instead of acknowledging the cat's capacity to be affectionate - or likewise being thankful that I was feeding him with some nutritious food each morning when I arrived on campus - the tired old gals started to take pokes at me.

This morning a fortyish woman who works for Animal Welfare stopped by to check on the stray cats, and made a snide remark as I walked off towards the library, that I should take away the left-overs when the cat was finished eating.

"A couple of the ladies inside complained."

Can you imagine?

They never take it upon themselves to do that with their own meager offerings!

They're so jealous of my relationship with a stray cat - of the kind which has eluded them in spite of their concerted overbearing efforts to warm up - that now they are attempting to disparage my own heartfelt efforts to nurture a homeless cat.

The welfare of the cat is what is of utmost importance, isn't it?

Gosh, life for a woman at 50 must be miserable!

Notwithstanding, I also found it curious that the woman who was the bearer of this cutting remark, acts somewhat strangely herself.

For starters, it should be noted that in spite of the fact she's assigned the task by Animal Welfare to check in on the cats, she's unable to inch much closer to kitty either.

From the get-go, I also felt an eerie vibe emanating from her aura, for some inexplicable reason.

Within days of meeting, she started getting all clingy and up-close.

One day, as I started to depart, she tried to lasso me into taking on her cat load.

When I graciously bowed out of the offer, she turned on me!

Ah, rejection. Terrible thing, isn't it?

But, her odd-ball behaviour goes much deeper than that.

When I noted I came across the most beautiful pure white cat on Crescent Heights the other morning, she made a bizarre comment.

"Black & white cats shouldn't be out on the 31st because Satanists."

Huh?

Let's just suffice to say that from now on I'm steering clear of her - and the other emotionally-padded ladies - by a country mile.

No wonder so many men are gay!

Ernest Hemingway...unknown intruder adds hilarious comment!

When I penned a post on Ernest Hemingway (after a vacation to Key West) it remained untouched for months on the blog.
(September 10 /2007)

However, many web surfers cruised to the post and sent kudos via e-mail - and quite generally - thanked me for the historical information on the literary giant's home in Florida.

In particular, readers were fascinated by the special Hemingway cats born with an extra paw, which are still bred on the property, today.

I was quite startled to check the post a few minutes ago and find that an unknown intruder - obviously with a great sense of humor - added a comment to the post without my knowledge!

Originally, the top of the fence where the cat sat, did not have any wording.

Sometime in the past few months, when my thoughts were turned elsewhere, the clever person added the phrase you see above:

"Thank you. Purr - fect Fence for our freedom to roam"

What a hoot!

It was such a pleasant surprise to stumble on, I shall let it remain!

Cheers to the clandestine artist!

Lindsay Lohan...lesbo? Chief Bratton sullies color of authority by alleging so!

Rainbow colors hint at sexual persuasion...

Lesbians around the country were obviously titillated this morning when they opened their morning daily to read Lindsay Lohan allegedly turned gay!

The revelation popped out of the mouth of Chief William Bratton at an inaugural meeting for a task force of elected officials, law enforcement leaders, and others seeking to regulate what they perceive as frenzied irresponsible conduct by the local paparazzi whenever they are in search of their celebrity targets.

Yes, the heated debate is revving up once again.

Although singer John Mayer and actor Eric Roberts turned up ready to toss their two cents worth in, Chief Bratton was ready to call it a day.

In fact, he declared the ballsy effort a farce!

"If you notice, since Britney started wearing clothes, Paris is out of town and not bothering anybody anymore, thank God, and evidently Lindsay Lohan has gone gay, we don't seem to have much of an issue."

In sum - he argued that existing laws were sufficient to curb the lens hounds - but not before accusing "misbehaving stars" of being the cause of ninety-percent of the problem.

And, he pointed an accusing finger at City Councilman Dennis P. Zine, for needlessly fanning the flames.

Zine was quick to a throw a deft one-two punch back!

"They (paparazzi) act like a pack of wolves stalking their prey. What we're trying to do is prevent a tragedy from happening."

Then, he zeroed in on Bratton for acting inappropriately under the color of authority.

In fact, the irate politician has asked the Police Commission to investigate Bratton's comments about Lohan's alleged sexual orientation. In support of his complaint, he noted for the record that any regular police officer on the force would be investigated and possibly disciplined for making such an outlandish remark while on the City payroll.

Bratton countered by lamenting that controlling the paparazzi was like trying to "herd cats".

Maybe that's why the focus on Lohan's pu**y came to the fore.

Still waiting to hear from Lindsay's camp!
