Lindsay Lohan...Ooops! Judge screwed up on alcohol ban! Star limited to 1 guest!

On the heels of tossing a chic soiree for an elite circle of pals on the roof of her beach-front condo, "Mean Girls" star - Lindsay Lohan - saw her world careen out-of-control once again.

Well, momentarily!

Before a snitch could utter up "probation violation"- a bench-warmer presiding over Lindsay's complex legal proceedings - was inclined to haul the starlet's pretty a** back into court for downing a few drinkie-poohs while under house arrest.

Once in court, however, Lindsay's astute lawyer pointed out that when the terms for the "house arrest" were approved there wasn't any stipulation that the troubled addict refrain from tossing back a shot or two (to ease the pain now-and-then).

Ooops!

The Judge ended up with egg on her face!

As one of the kids on TMZ would quip.

"Was that scrambled or fertilized?"

Subsequently, the testy Judicial Officer was forced to shift gears and issue a spanking-new directive so there would be no bones about the issues in the future.

In no uncertain terms, the Jurist (obviously on the rag in view of her bitchy demeanour yesterday) hammered home the obvious.

Although Ms. Lohan was able to roam freely within the confines of her comfy lodgings at the beach, she was - in essence - still in "jail".

With this in mind - and in view of Lindsay's flagrant disregard for the sanctity of the Judicial System - the Judge proceeded to ban all parties in the future.

In a bold-faced effort to accomplish this end, the Judge imposed a restriction on guests.

Currently, Ms. Lohan is only allowed to invite one guest to her home whenever there is a need for companionship.

The hanging Judge stopped short of taking her allowance away, I expect.

By the way, if you're a fan - rooting for Ms. Lohan - you've obviously been marking the days of her incarceration (!) on the calendar.

Good news!

Lohan has a scant few days to remain sober, clean, and humble as a church mouse.

Will Lohan be celebrating her freedom with a night out on-the-town?

Lindsay Lohan...ankle bracelet subject of jokes! "Mean Girls" star does time her way!

The latest joke flying around the broadcast airwaves can't help but crack 'ya up - or at least trigger a wee smile - given the circumstances.

Now that Ms. Lohan has chosen to "do her time" her way - and a monitoring device has been affixed to her elegant shapely foot - one can't help but wonder about one niggling issue.

Will the prosecutors ever be able to recovery the ankle bracelet - or will Lindsay make off with it - in the dead of night?

Ba-dump!

Actually, Ms. Lohan is paying for the cost of using the ankle bracelet for the next thirty-five days - or so - while she is under house-arrest at her beachside home.

Talk about cushy!

Sure beats hard time in the slammer, eh?

According to inside sources, Ms. Lohan entered the women's jail yesterday morning (Thursday) and proceeded to tie up all the loose ends, sign a few documents (correctly dated, I assume), and then proceeded to stretch out a long sexy leg so that a beefy female Sheriff could snap on a plain Jane ankle bracelet so that the long arm of the law could monitor her whereabouts for an exact amount of time determined by the court and Sheriff's Department.

God willing - her guests will take the utmost care when they pop in for a visit at her upscale digs - and endeavour not to spill any exotic cocktails on her foot.

Otherwise - ooops! - back to the big house she goes where nasty City employees are ready, able, and willing to come to blows with the Mean Girls star (if only for a quick buck or fifteen minutes of fame).

Unfortunately, during the course of house arrest, Ms. Lohan is not allowed to whittle away any of her community service duties also ordered by the court as part of her sentence.

That would amount to scoffing up double-time (we call it golden benefits in the industry).

She's sure to get around to that task, I expect.

This story is getting so old-and-grey and long-in-the-tooth, though.

Lindsay, time to move on, before you do - too!

Lindsay Lohan...pleads "No Contest" Blinded by the Bling! Jail time!

Lindsay Lohan has done an about-face and elected to pass on a long drawn-out trial on a charge of allegedly making off with a five-finger discount at a trendy retail outlet situated in picturesque Venice Beach (CA).

Earlier today, legal counsel appeared on her behalf at a Los Angeles courthouse to enter a surprise plea of “no contest”.

A sruprise because up-until-now, Ms. Lohan's handlers were adamant that she was inncoent, and that the "Mean Girls" star intended to have her day (well, another one, at least) in court.

The term is a fancy one – which usually masks the guilt surrounding an alleged crime – to allow a reluctant defendant to bow out gracefully.

When you factor in - Judicial Economy - it may have been a wise move on the part of her legal counsel in the final analysis.

The defendant is still considered convicted for all intents and purposes, but the plea may be challenged during an appeals process, if the defendant so desires.

A cynical few take the view that a defendant has not necessarily asserted his or her innocence - or admitted guilt - when they elect to plead "no contest".

In sum, the court is being given the nod to proceed with the disposition of the case.

On occasion, accused individuals plead no contest - because legal counsel has advised that in view of the facts and evidence on record - that the charges against the individual may be difficult to beat in an actual court-of-law.

In Lindsay Lohan’s case there is allegedly video footage of the troubled actress waltzing out of the retail store without paying for the merchandise.

Extenuating circumstances may have allowed for some wiggle room, especially with a competent attorney at the helm.

For example – Ms. Lohan’s team were within their rights to argue that the jewellery was on loan (or in the alternative argued that Ms. Lindsay simply tried on the piece of bling and forgot to return it to the clerk).

The fact her handlers returned the item once the incident was reported to the police - appeared to seal her fate in the eyes of the law, fans, and the public-at-large though - who were not easily hoodwinked.

Ms. Lindsay would have been better off arguing that she was a kleptomaniac – who needed therapy and counseling – and not hard time in the local slammer.

In response to the no contest plea, Ms. Lohan was sentenced to four months in jail.

In addition, the astute bench warmer ordered that the talented – but drug-addled actress – perform 480 hours of community service as well.

Lohan, was not required to appear in court today, but must report to jail on or before June 17th to fulfill her obligation to society.

However, at press time, insiders noted that Ms. Lohan may be eligible for house arrest which would require an electronic monitoring device on her person 24/7 to ensure the terms of the agreement are met.

Lohan was also ordered to complete much-needed therapy and is required to enroll in an anti-shoplifting program as well.
With this sorry chapter of her life closing in the near future, hopefully Ms. Lohan can get back to business as usual.

For instance, last month, Lohan landed her first feature film part since the whole fiasco began many moons ago, and is expected to go forward and co-star with John Travolta and Al Pacino.

The project is a film bio on John Gotti and the mob.

Lindsay Lohan...sentenced to 120 days in jail! Probation Violation!

Lindsay "brazen" according to Judge!

Poor Lindsay Lohan!

Today, on what was supposed to be "Good" Friday, the tables turned against her.

I guess you could say the down-on-her luck film star got crucified!

After the prosecutor submitted evidence to the court at a hearing today, and arguments were vigorously offered up by her defense lawyer, the Judge ruled against the "Mean Girls" star.

The bench warmer noted in open court that it was his finding that Lohan violated her probation.

In spite of the fact the charge on the "alleged theft of a necklace" was reduced to a misdemeanor, the troubled drug-adled starlet was sentenced to 120 days in jail for failing to abide by the terms of her probation.

In addition to the jail sentence, Ms. Lohan has been ordered to serve 400 hours of community service - most of which - must be completed at a woman's center.

In a curious twist, a portion of the community service must be completed at the local morgue.

Was the Judge sending a hint to Ms. Lohan?

"This is what may come to pass if you don't alter your path to self-destruction."

At the end of the hearing, the defendant was led away by a posse of bailiffs at the Courthouse.

Lohan's attorney, Shawn Holley, said she will appeal the ruling which will allow the actress to post bail which was set at $75,000

For those who weren't counting, this will be Lohan's fourth visit to the local pokey to serve time.

Lohan entered a not guilty plea in respect to the theft charge before she exited the courtroom.

Bottom line?

Sautner noted in court that he based the jail sentence on a determination that there had been intent.

"I see a level of brazenness with - "Let me see what I can get away with here" - he stated matter-of-fact to the hushed courtroom.

Ms. Lohan sat stone-faced when the Judge issued the ruling.

Wonder what she's thinking behind bars tonight?

Lindsay Lohan...Mafia made offer Director couldn't refuse! Gotti tale to lens soon!

Well - there has been quite a flurry of frenzied industry and media attention around Lindsay Lohan over the past few days - in an arena where the sultry drug-adled actress aches for recognition!

The off-again on-again casting of Ms. Lohan in the John Gotti film bio has caused quite a few tongues to wag!

Wouldn't you agree?

Initially, the rumors circulated that the nose-candy taster- oh, so extraordinaire - might have been too much of an insurance risk for the brass at the studio to handle in the throes of her troubles with the long arm of the law.

If you're a Lindsay Lohan fan - or, even not, for that matter - then you're probably familiar with the ongoing saga (of soap opera proportions) that has dragged on in respect to the Gotti project.

Will she or won't she?

Play the role, silly!

The latest word from the director's chair is "yes". Well, sort of.

Although she wasn't cast in the challenging part she pined for, Lindsay will be using her considerable acting chops to carve out a niche for herself in a lesser role on the Gotti project.

Initially, the inexperienced auteur nixed bringing the "Mean Girls" star on board, on the grounds that Ms. Lohan's handlers were making too many demands on behalf of the sexpot.

But, in the end scenario, he capitulated.

Did some goon make him an offer he couldn't refuse?

Uh-huh!

There may have been some strings pulled behind-the-scenes - by Gotti's "people" - just betcha!

Think about it!

Last week, when John Travolta appeared on a night-time talk show to plug the flick, a few pertinent details slipped from his lips unexpectedly.

When asked if Lindsay was slated to play a role, the "Hairspray" star responded in no uncertain terms.

Not only was the frequent jailbird right for the part - the fact she grew up with the "Gotti's" - might factor in.

Did the Director wake up one morning with the head of his prize-winning horse on the pillow next to his nose totally out-of-whack?

Lindsay Lohan...court documents sealed! Wheels of Justice turn slowly!

Lindsay Lohan trotted into court bright-and-early this morning to face the music, but - if anything - ended up participating in a hearing that amounted to little more than a brief intro of bigger things to come.

In fact, judging by the proceedings that took place in a Los Angeles courtroom today - and in view of all the ifs, ands or buts - it is fairly obvious at this juncture that the court-room drama is not going to be an open-and-shut case for either side.

For example, at one point, Lohan's attorney quizzed the Judge about one issue when she appeared to be perplexed by a ruling.

"Your honor, you said my motion was partly denied. Does that mean that it was partly granted?"

"Yes," the seasoned bench-warmer responded in the affirmative without hesitation.

Then, the hearing got curiouser and curiouser.

A court date was set for March 25th, for instance, but - whether the parties show up or not - depends on Lindsay's decision to accept or reject a plea offer.

Uh-huh!

Armchair viewers at home - without a law degree under the belt - may have trouble fathoming the particulars on television (unless they're fans of "Law & Order" or "Perry Mason").

Then, the Judge expressed his frustration over leaks in the legal proceedings - that have been baffling Los Angeles Superior Court officials in recent weeks - and running interference with his directives.

To help combat the dilemma, His Honor requested that Lohan's attorney submit all documentary evidence and legal briefs under seal - "for his eyes only"- in the future.

Golly, the details surrounding this felony charge are turning out to be intriguing top-secret-stuff!

Bottom line, it was gut-wrenching for folks seeking closure for Lindsay Lohan.

An outcome appears to be far off on the horizon down a long-and-winding bumpy road!

Lindsay Lohan...cooking therapeutic! Trial looms on horizon!

Lindsay on path to recovery!

On a rare occasion, troubled starlet - Lindsay Lohan - threw open her doors and invited a film crew in to shoot an exclusive interview with "Extra" (Tabloid News Show).

In recent days, her handlers have run interference with the press - especially when it came to one-on-one interviews - in view of pending legal matters before the court.

In the comfy environs of her home near the beach, the "Mean Girls" star let it slip - for starters - that she loves to cook.

"I find it so therapeutic," she fessed up matter-of-fact.

The stylish sexpot doesn't appear to be packing on any extra flab, in spite of tasting the dishes, during the course of whipping 'em up.

In fact, in contrast to drug-addled bad-boy - Charlie Sheen - Ms. Lohan looked fresh-faced and relaxed as she spoke candidly before the camera.

Lohan, about half-way through the tell-all, was quick to underscore that she's anxious to get back to meaningful work.

Of course, that tough proposition will depend on the power-players in Tinsel Town (is she an insurance risk?) and a Judge presiding over an upcoming trial which looms on the horizon in respect to a felony charge of grand theft.

Ms. Lohan is quite adamant that she intends to "face the music" - and a take a shot at a played-out court-room drama - rather than accept a plea bargain which includes a stint at the local jail.

The ball may be in the recovering addict's court, though.

Over the weekend, it was revealed that her accusers may have sold an incriminating piece of evidence in the case (a video which allegedly caught Lohan in the act of lifting a one-of-a-kind piece of jewellery valued at $2500.00) which may have harmed their credibility and tainted the prospects of a guilty verdict at trial.

There may be some wiggle room for Ms. Lohan, after all!

Lindsay Lohan...stern Judge threatens jail time for troubled starlet!

Poor Lindsay Lohan!

This morning, the world of the naughty high-profile starlet came tumbling down, and she was suddenly left in a lurch between-a-rock & a-hard-place!

Uh-huh!

When the drug-addled tabloid-plagued beauty appeared before a crusty old bench-warmer (a hanging Judge?) bright-and-early (to answer to what some are calling a "trumped-up" felony charge arising from the alleged theft of a pricey one-of-a-kind necklace from a Venice storefront jeweller) she was in for an unexpected shock.

The Superior Court Judge - presiding over the much-publicized case - threatened that he would send the pretty actress (with a penchant for dressing inappropriately for court) to jail if she accepted a plea bargain offered by the prosecutor's office.

Although the terms of that deal were not made public, Judge Keith Schwartz underscored from the bench, that Lohan would have to plead guilty or "no contest" to a charge that she "lifted" a piece of merchandise without paying the ticket price.

If Lohan sauntered into court expecting a slap on the wrist, her expectations were not only sky-high - but, without doubt - unrealistic.

"This case involves jail time," bench-warmer Judge Schwartz gruffly informed the "Mean Girls" actress as she sat stone-faced next to legal counsel.

"If you plead in front of me - if this case resolves in front of me - you are going to jail. Period. It may be an issue as to the amount of time."

The surly old adjudicator sure was high on drama, wasn't he?

Period!

However, there is a glimmer of hope for Ms. Lohan.

Schwartz noted (no bones about it) - that if Lohan rejected the plea bargain - the case would be set for a preliminary hearing in front of another judge.

Will another Jurist show more mercy?

The light-fingered sexpot must cough up a decision by her next court appearance which is slated for March 10th.

Lindsay Lohan...pleads not guilty on felony charge of grand theft! Stay-away orders!

Lohan may have to sport fashions courtesy the local jailer!

Lindsay Lohan ran the media gauntlet once again - at the Airport Courthouse with jurisdiction over pending legal issues - to appear at an arraignment today on a grand theft felony charge in connection with the alleged disappearance of a pricey necklace.

Once again, the scripted material was pretty predictable.

Say what?

"Who me, guilty of theft?"

With little ado, Ms. Lohan informed the Judge presiding over the proceedings - Keith L. Schwartz - that she was most "not guilty".

Although his honor hinted that he might deny bail, he reneged on that promise.

A short while later, Ms. Lohan's bail was set at $40,000.00 smackeroos.

"You're in a different situation now that a felony has been filed against you," Schwartz told Lohan.

"You need to follow the laws just like everybody else. You're no different than anyone else, so please don't push your luck."

Because there appeared to be some effort on the part of "someone" (Lohan's handlers?) - to butter up the Venice Beach shopkeeper (flowers were delivered on the heels of the filing of the felony charge) - the Judge ordered the "Mean Girls" star to stay away from the premises in the future.

Lohan will trot back to court on Feb. 23.

The sexy thespian is no stranger to the law.

The troubled starlet is currently on probation for a misdemeanor drunk-driving conviction.

And, allegations that she twisted the arm of a worker at the Betty Ford Center, are still under investigation.

In the media frenzy that followed the announcement of Lohan's new run-in with the law, her attorney released a statement to the press, in which he stridently acknowledged that the actress would fight all criminal charges tooth-and-nail.

Meanwhile, legal analysts note that Lohan could be ordered to appear before a Judge in a Beverly Hills court in the near future, to determine whether the grand-theft charge constitutes a probation violation warranting jail time.

Lindsay Lohan...to be charged in theft of pricey necklace! Arraignment tomorrow February 9th!

http://www.longislandpress.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/08/Lindsay-Lohan.jpg

The allegations have been brewing for the past couple of weeks.

Eye-witnesses swear that they spied actress Lindsay Lohan adorned at-the-neck with a one-a-kind necklace - valued at $2500 - which mysteriously vanished from a jewellery store she frequented.

Shortly after TMZ and other news outlets hinted about the potential ten-finger-discount - an individual close to Lohan - apparently turned the sparkler over to authorites.

After a brief investigation of the facts, sources closes to the drama unfolding around the troubled starlet disclosed today, that a single count of felony grand theft will be filed at Airport Court in Los Angeles tomorrow morning (Wednesday)

The "Mean Girls" star is expected to be arraigned at 1:30 PM.

Apparently, it is mandatory that Ms. Lohan appear at the courthouse tomorrow.

If convicted, she could be sent to California State prison for a lengthy prison term.

Lindsay Lohan...crash lands SUV! Life's a beach!

The door became unhinged, I guess!

Though Lindsay Lohan has escaped the mean streets of LA LA LAND to tony climbs at a picturesque beach temporarily - it doesn't appear that the infamous recovering bimbo babe isn't out of harm's way - by a long shot!

Go figure!

Taken aback by a posse of paparazz lolling about (LOL) on the well-manicured walkwayy outside her spanking-new digs - the dizzy starlet was inclined to shift into drive-by mode - to effect a mad dash for the open door of the garage on the lower level of the upscale condo unit.

What was intended to be a smooth maneuver - to avoid the prying press - ended up a comedy of errors.

Within minutes of cruising inside the garage (while the wheels were still smoking, dudes) the door tumbled down out-of-control (much like Ms. Lohan on a starry drug-laced Hollywood night) and smashed into the roof of the $130,000.00 SUV just "gifted" her.

Then - Eureka! - the door bounced up-and down-again without any rhyme or reason.

Uh-huh!

The loopy landing was all caught on camera- natch- by a TMZ photog who was on-the-ball.

Golly, those roving gossip mongers over at Harv's must have horseshoes up the a**, eh?

Talk about a scoop!

If it's any consolation to Lindsay, there wasn't one ghastly cactus bush in the vicinity to fall into!

But, the whole hilarious scenario begs the question.

Did the "Mean Girls" star fall off-the-wagon or is she just a lousy driver?

Lindsay Lohan..."Reform School Girls" next? B Movie limbo...

Lately, Lindsay Lohan's life has started to emulate a bad B Movie script, don't 'ya think?

One minute, the sexy starlett is struggling with her sanity (some would prefer she be trussed up in a straight jacket pronto), the next - she's giving a Judge the finger (well - ten - actually).

Now, it appears that Ms. Lohan is either in rehearsal for a flick about "Reform School Girls" - or just maybe - she's auditioning for the juicy role of "Frances Farmer" in an upcoming film bio.

Who knows?

According to insiders, Ms. Lohan assaulted a staff member at the Betty Ford Clinic, during her (um) respite from the after-hours night-club scene - at a resort for the humbled elite - who tend to be drug-adled or prone to gulp down a drinkie-pooh (or two) a tad too ambitiously!

Say it ain't so, Lindsay!

At a Press Conference yesterday, authorities confirmed that they responded to a 911 call - at which time - an employee of the infamous Betty Ford Drug Rehab Center accused the troubled show-biz personality of physical battery.

On the heels of the scandalous outburst - behave now, bitches! - the worker was terminated apparently.

But, the unexpected turn-of-events, only added grease to the fire!

"Wrongfully terminated," a lawyer has lamented to all within earshot.

The legal eagle has argued that the filing of a police report does not rise to the level of a breach of confidentiality, after all.

Picky! Picky! Picky!

His client only seeks compensation for her injuries (and the insult), after all!

What position does management at the reputable Betty Ford Clinic take?

"The worker violated patient confidentiality by speaking with the media," a spokesperson asserted for the record, without batting a sober eye.

A little bird tells me Ms. Lohan may be trotting back to Court in the event the incident is construed as a breach of her probation.

Lindsay Lohan...trots back to rehab! Slammer eludes fallen star!

As curious onlookers gazed on, a Superior Court Judge ordered an emotional teary-eyed Lindsay Lohan back to rehab at the Betty Ford Center, until the first week of January.

When the verdict was first read, the once-drug-addled starlet broke down and sobbed.

Then, the high-profile celeb managed to utter up a breathy "thank you" to the Jurist presiding over the proceedings.

Once again, Ms. Lohan escaped the clutches of the local jailer.

The prosecutor recommended a six-month jail term as penalty for her failure to pass a drug test several weeks ago, which the bench-warmer presiding over the proceedings wisely rejected.

But, Ms. Lohan did not escape the court's wrath entirely.

Judge Eden Fox cautioned the troubled starlet to refrain from engaging in manipulative tactics in the future.

"I'm giving you one final chance to stay clean," Eden noted for the record.

“You’re staying past the New Year’s - there’s a reason for that,” Fox quipped.

Lohan is due back in court on February 25.

Lindsay Lohan...back to rehab! Charlie Sheen & "Mean Girl" confound media hounds!

Lindsay on the move!

One minute, Lindsay Lohan was being hand-cuffed and hauled off to jail without mercy - in the next - the troubled starlet was being spirited away out a back door into a waiting limousine into the dead-of-night.

What the heck gives?

Media hounds were being run ragged and shaking their heads in frustration over the unexpected turn-of-events.

One thing was certain, though.

By the tail end of last week, the mind-boggling events surrounding the high-profile star, were starting to mirror the bad boy theatrics of Charlie Sheen which went down in Colorado just a scant few weeks ago.

For instance - on the heels of an insider tip that Charlie was about to cop a plea - a pack of overzealous paparazzi packed up their lenses and dashed off to the courthouse to catch the big scoop on celluloid.

Suddenly, without warning, it was a "no go".

No Sheen. No deal.

Back to square one!

Over the weekend, a similar fiasco unfolded on network TV, when two tabloid news shows rushed to report out-of-breath that Lindsay was in "jail" - and - denied bail.

In fact, she was not!

No, Sir!

Shortly after the entertainment reporters put their segments to bed - and the sensational news alerts flooded the airwaves - Lindsay had flown the coop!

Needless to say - the embarrassed gossip mongers (and media outlets that took a cue and followed suit) - ended up with recalled egg on the face.

But, not moi!

That's the beauty of being a blogger, after all.

With a flick of a finger - it's a snap to edit - and update the news!.

Though mainstream media types are prone to put down Internet writers - for lacking a background in journalism and what-have-you - at least bloggers can boast that their tripe is up-to-date and fresh out of the mouths of gossips!

Lindsay Lohan..."Get out of Jail" card costly! Judge Fox eats crow!

Lindsay Lohan snagged another "Get out of Jail" card last night just before the witching hour.

But, the price tag was a pretty hefty one.

Earlier in the day, when Ms. Lohan appeared in court to answer to charges that she failed a drug test last week, Judge Elden Fox pulled the rug out from under the starlet when he denied bail and ordered a Sheriff to hand-cuff  the startled defendant and haul her back to the slammer until a probation Violation hearing on October 22nd..

But, the ruling was struck down later in the afternoon just shy of 6  p.m , when Lohan's lawyer filed a "motion" with the court, lamenting that denial of "bail" was illegal in the instant scenario since Lindsay had committed a couple of misdemeanors (not felonies).

An assistant supervising Judge found there was merit to lawyer Shawn Chapman Holley's argument, and subsequently, overturned the stiff penalty imposed earlier by Judge Fox.

However, the stakes got higher for Ms. Lohan.

The court granted her release with the provision that her legal team post $300,000.00 bail.

In addition, the strong-willed actress was placed on a tighter leash.

Until the hearing in late October rolls around, Lohan is required to sport an ankle bracelet once again, to monitor her every move.

The trendy watering holes the par-ta girl frequents - that primarily flog alcohol - are off-limits, too.

Individuals in rehab treatment programs often refer to social setting such as these as "triggers" because of temptations that lurk everywhere in those sleazy environs.

On October 22nd, the disgruntled Jurist will render a finding as to whether or not Lindsay violated her probation last week when she failed a mandatory court-ordered drug test.

Lindsay herself has admitted that shaking her drug habit has been a daily challenge.

"Substance abuse is a disease, which unfortunately doesn't go away over night," Lohan fessed up a few days ago on Twitter, on the heels of admitting she relapsed and that her test came back dirty.

When Judge Fox initially granted Lohan's release, he mapped out a 67-day course of action for the pretty starlet to follow which included drug testing, counseling, and substance abuse meetings.

At Friday's court proceeding, probation officers were asked to report back on the extent of Lindsay's compliance, how faithful she's been to the court's directive, and so-forth and-so-on.

With reliable facts in hand, it is anticipated the Judge will be capable of rendering a decision that is equitable under the circumstances, with the specific aim of settling a case that has gotten old and grey and (yawn!) begging for closure.

I echo Mr. Lohan's sentiments.

The talented thespian is in dire need of therapy.

Stints behind bars just frustrate and hinder the healing process on all levels.

Lindsay Lohan...motion granted for release! Starlet must rustle up $300,000.00 bail...

A few minutes ago, there was good news - bad news, too - for Lindsay Lohan.

This afternoon - when Judge Elden Fox ordered Lindsay Lohan back to the slammer for failing a drug test (and sent her reeling in shock) - the disgruntled Jurist also denied her legal eagle's  request for bail.

Consequently, the Sheriff was instructed to hand-cuff Ms. Lohan - at which point - she was hauled off to a secure facility for female prisoners in Lynwood, California.

End of story?

Not.

At the hearing this afternoon, the lawyer representing the "Mean Girls" star, vowed to file a motion with the court, replete with arguments outlining the merits of re-instating bail and a quick release for Lindsay.

True to form, the aggressive attorney quickly drafted the requirement paperwork, and the brief was summarily submitted to the court's clerk for a proper legal review.

OMG!

Ms. Lohan's highly-paid arm-twister must be a legal whiz because the "motion" was granted by Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Patricia Schnegg.

Who's out-foxing who?

Unfortunately for the actress, her release hinges on her legal team's ability to rustle up a startling $300,000.00 in bail - in what amounts to fool's gold at this point - backed by appropriate security (such as bonds, stocks, and/or property).

In addition, Lohan must get fitted for a trendy ankle bracelet once again, so that her activities may be monitored up-close-and-personal each waking-and-sleeping moment until a hearing on the issues (slated for October 22nd) determines Lohan's fate.

I expect the paparazzi will not only be camped out-front of the big house, but may be inclined to position a scout out-back, in the event the sly par-tay girl attempts to slip out the backdoor once again.

I'm pulling for 'ya, girl!

No-nonesense Judy Judy may be good medicine for starlet!

Lindsay Lohan...hand-cuffed & jailed! No bail for screw-up!

Lindsay Lohan was in for a rude awakening when she sashayed into court today to answer to charges that she was  in Violation of probation for failing a mandatory drug test last week.

The Judge's reaction was swift and severe.

Throw her in the slammer!

A few minutes earlier, Lindsay roared up to the courthouse - stylisly outfitted in a dark blazer and peering out from behind dark shades with her mother in tow - half-expecting the proceeding was just a formality.

But, the troubled addict was in for a jolt when the disgruntled Jurist - Eden Fox - instructed the Sheriff to hand-cuff the pretty starlet and take her into custody.

After denying bail, a hearing was set for October 22nd, at which point the "Mean Girls" star was whisked way to the country jail where she is expected to don an orange jumpsuit and suffer a loss of privileges once again.

Ouch!

Those weren't crocodile tears Ms. Lohan shed when she was placed inside an unmarked police car and hauled away to women's facility in Lynwood, California, to be incarcerated once again.

On the sideliness, gossip-mongers tittered.

To paraphrase a quote from the musical "Chicago":

"She had it coming!"

In spite of the fact the high-profile celeb  was released early from Jail last month - and give leniency - Ms. Lohan neglected to count her blessings.

A mandatory drug test which came back "dirty" signaled to the court that the social gadfly was defiantly thumbing her nose at the justicial system.

According to one Sheriff, Lohan is being kept away from the general population at the slammer "for the safety and security of the entire jail system."

Lohan, 24, is to be held in an 8-by-12 foot cell on lone stints that may stretch out twenty-three hours or so without contact with other inmates.

Not a charmed existence, by any stretch of the imagination.

Meditation may be a usetool right now for Lindsay to facilitate self-reflection.

Good luck, Ms. Lohan!

Cocaine...the lure of the potent snuff! Paris Hilton's monkey on-the-back!

In the wake of Paris Hilton’s cocaine bust - and the 29-year-old’s subsequent conviction for possession of the party favor - I have been inclined to reflect on the insidious drug and its potent ability to seduce - and ultimately - addict.

Why insidious?

Unlike a fistful of other designer drugs that splash onto the nightclub scene to enhance the senses for a few short hours on a frenzied dance floor behind heavily-guarded doors - cocaine (a pricey white powder that is usually snorted up the nose) - is in for the long haul.

Having grown up in the sixties - in an era of peace, love, and Jimmy Hendrix - it was a given that the temptation of mood or mind-altering substances (organic or whipped up in a lab by an inventive chemical genius) would rear its ugly head.

In my instant case, friends at a Christmas party in Kitsilano (Vancouver, B.C.), coaxed me into taking a toke on a big fat joint, and I ended up flat on my ass lost in the intricate pattern of an exquisite Persian rug.

At 15, I was pretty impressionable with defenses down, for sure.

But, obviously it was the DMT-cured marijuana that left me “stoned” (an expression of the day) for three days straight.

I was clueless and a tad naïve when I was a teen because I was raised in sheltered environs in the burbs.

In fact, I recall one incident that unfolded in the locker room at Humberside High (!) that makes me shake my head in disbelief when I look back.

On that specific occasion, a fellow student dashed up out-of-the-blue with, and blurted out a puzzling message.

“The gym teacher is a narc,” she hissed at me.

Understandably, I sheepishly froze on the spot; after all, I didn’t know what a “narc” was.

A year or so later - I’d come of age in that regard - shortly after I joined the exodus to the West Coast (Canada) and dropped out to become a hippie.

Although my lifestyle changed - to one that was more condusive to the creative spirit - my lack of interest in the drug culture intensified.

In contrast - my bohemian pals - not only continued to puff away - but moved on to experiment with an exotic array of mind-blowing illegal substances such as window-pane LSD, MDA, and Mescaline.

And, on one desperate occasion, downed some elephant tranquilizer, with staggering results.

No kidding.

The release of the film - “Performance“ (starring Mick Jagger in the role of a reclusive rock star) - prompted adventurous merry pranksters to also gobble down magic mushrooms (which they stumbled on by accident on vacant land overgrown with foliage alongside an airstrip at the Vancouver airport).
In those heady carefree days, critics of the burgeoning Mary-Jane culture, warned that smoking marijuana (or hashish) would open the door to harder drugs such as cocaine and heroin.

Hippies, fans of rock ‘n roll, exalted figureheads of the underground head culture - and a host of other liberated spirits - scoffed at the notion.

Even still - the hilarious lop-sided attitudes expressed in classic flicks like “Reefer Madness” a decade earlier - persisted in perpetuating wild myths about the alleged “killer weed”.

Unfortunately, one prediction appeared to ring true, after I took off the “rose-colored” glasses and faced the truth cold turkey.

It didn’t escape my attention that a number of friends and acquaintances ended up addicted to cocaine - in spite of the fact they swore up-and-down in their innocent teens - that smoking marijuana would never take them down that treacherous path.

In fact, when I trekked up to Vancouver last vacation, I was taken aback at what I encountered, when I dropped by a long-time pal’s digs near Kitsilano Beach.

It was like stepping into a time warp!

The walls were splattered with a smattering of psychedelic posters graced with images of legendary bands such as Led Zeppelin and the awesome rock Diva Janis Joplin & the Holding Company), curtains crafted in sprightly-colored beads (purchased at one of the head shops on 4th Avenue no doubt) were strung up in doorway frames where they doubled as eye-catching crash-pad dividers, a lava lamp continued to transform its contents at a snail’s pace, and drug paraphernalia - a small mirror with traces of white power skimming the surface, razor blades, and a straw (crudely-fashioned out of paper money) - signaled the tell-tale signs of cocaine use.

One of the prime reasons cocaine is such a difficult “monkey” to shake off the back - is in large part due to the fact - “blow” tends to be mind-addicting.

Once the seductive drug has washed over the senses and elevated the user to a high on the edge of Nirvana, the addict is inclined to wallow in the sheer ecstasy of the fleeting moment.

Some kinkier users allege that rubbing cocaine on their sexual organs actually heightens sexual pleasure during love-making.

But, too much of the potent white powder may cause a posse of dudes to suffer from soft-dick syndrome until they “come down” a notch or two.

Unfortunately, when the drug wears off, many users are plunged into depression that is sobering, too.
What cures that ill?

A line of coke, you betcha!

Uh-huh.

Coupled with that downer, the cocaine-addicted are faced with another never-ending dilemma.

A stronger dose of the trendy “snuff” must be ingested to attain the previous level of drug-induced euphoria once tapped at lower dosages.

At this juncture, the addict becomes ensnared, caught in the drug’s stranglehold.

The cost of sustaining the habit may sky-rocket as the hunger for coke increases.

In addition, habitual drug use may negatively impact other areas of the addict’s life.

For starters, the user may start to suffer from nose bleeds,

A handful of sensitive individuals may develop nervous ticks and sensitivity to bright lights.

Hence, the dark shades many addicts wear, even in-doors.

Long-term use may cause mental and emotional problems to surface, too.

In that event, addicts are rarely capable of escaping cocaine’s far-reaching clutches.

In a twisted sort-of-way, Paris was lucky to be “busted”.

Now, under the glare of the spotlight, the pretty heiress will be forced to take appropriate steps (12?) to lick her craving for killer drugs like cocaine.

Is there another reality show on the horizon?

Lindsay Lohan...warrant issued & stayed!! Paris & Lindsay's naughty diversions!

I let my hair down a bit!

OMG!

The two sultry sirens who once graced the slick pages of tony fashion magazines - starlet Lindsay Lohan and Heiress Paris Hilton - have been busy strutting the gangplank down at the local court house with their fates twisting in the wind as an ever-ravenous gang of  paparazzi have jockeyed for their best shot.

Yesterday, legal eagles for the chic par-tay babe in line for the Hilton fortune, wrangled with a Judge over a plea bargain for instance.

The bench warmer - who wasn't impressed with the pretty blonde's privileged background - ended up taking a swipe at the reality-show star.

Meanwhile, Lindsay Lohan waits for the other show to drop, as her legal counsel prepares for an upcoming hearing to determine the outcome of a alleged probation violation.

On her twitter site a scant few days ago, the troubled starlet confided that she tested positive for a drug test ordered on the fly by the court.

I reported on that incident, too.

The response to the tell-all resulted in swift severe action by the Judge presiding over her case.

A warrant was issued for the "Mean Girls" star - and her 3-year probation was subsequently revoked - by the angry Jurist.

A short time later the warrant was rescinded - which I expect was brought about by lawyers working feverishly behind-the-scenes - to ensure Ms. Lohan would have a fair hearing on the issue.

Expect another huge crush of media hounds on the well-worn path to the court on Friday when Judge Eden Fox holds court once again.

I am surprised that a sharp enterprising producer hasn't tried to capitalize on the Hilton/Lohan debacles.

A film featuring the two high-profile "bad girls" has the potential to rustle up a welcome wicked diversion that would probably fair well at the Box Office.

I have a tentative working-title, too.

Lindsay Lohan...fesses up to failing drug test! New maturity signals hope!

On the heels of news reports that she failed a recent drug test, Linday Lohan displayed remarkable maturity yesterday, when she fessed up to the allegations.

In fact, at her twitter site - the pretty starlet with the monkey on-her-back - posted a tweet in which she acknowledged that she screwed-up.

Ms. Lohan noted that she is ready to appear before the judge in her case and face the consequences for her actions.

The slip-up may be construed as a probation violation resulting in additional jail time.

In contrast, just a scant few weeks ago - during court proceedings - the troubled addict was in a constant state of denial.

On more than one occasion - Lohan either engaged in deceitful conduct to hide the extent of her addiction - or blatantly tried to toss the blame entirely on others to avoid penalty from the judge presiding over her case.

For example, on one occasion the style maven swore up-and-down that a pair of pants with traces of cocaine in the fabric, were not hers.

Witnesses later testified that the slacks were not only owned by Lohan, but were a favorite pair of casual wear she often wore on a night out on-the-town partying.

Ms. Lohan  also claimed that she was not driving a vehicle during the course of a DUI shake-down - and, in fact - accused two other individuals of being at the wheel until the truth was finally squeezed out of witnesses.

In a series of messages posted late Friday, the actress was forthcoming, however.

"Regrettably, I did in fact fail my most recent drug test," she admitted in no uncertain terms.

"Substance abuse is a disease, which unfortunately doesn't go away over night. I am working hard to overcome it," she added solemnly.

According to inside sources, Lindsay intends to continue with the recovery updates on her twitter site.

In my estimation, the fact that Lindsay has acknowledged her problem, signals to me that she has turned the corner on her addiction.

For this reason, she deserves a break!

We're all human, after all, and inclined to stumble now and then.

Personally, I'll be following the posts wholeheartedly, and pulling for her.

If anything, she needs a boost in her morale just now.

Hopefully, fans can step in and fill that void, in the interim.

Poor fashion choice rankled court officials!
