San Francisco...4th Annual ARTOPIA! Tonight 7-10 PM!

SF Weekly's 4th Annual ARTOPIA kicks off tonight with the spotlight on Bay Area artists.

The dazzling highlight of the event features finalists from the Masterminds Competition.

A record 300 artists submitted entries with the ultimate aim of showcasing their talents and snapping up coveted grants worth upwards of $1500.00.

Objets D'art include unique one-of-a-kind original paintings, intriguing in-the-round sculptures, calligraphs, eclectic photographic stills, and-so-forth-and-so-on.

If the stellar ART WORKS were rustled up from a creative vein, the able judges willingly reviewed 'em.

The finalists for the "Masterminds" exhibition include talents Aaron D. Guadamuz, Hugh Leeman, Jeremy Rourke, Ben Venom, Laurel Shear, Christina Mazza, Will Cloughley, and Pablo Cristi.

Locals may recall that the Bay area has been fertile ground for celebrated artisans such as Ansel Adams, Raymond Sanders, and Ruth Asawa (pictured below).

In addition to the eye-popping displays there will be hosted bars, music, and live! performances.

Public works - located at 161 Erie Street (14th & Mission) - is the exciting venue for the event.

See 'ya there!
