In contrast to the past seasons - where Beckham was inclined to tout skintight ensembles that screamed out sex and the body politic - the big focus tended to be on versatile outfits that allowed for personal style to raise its pretty head.
For example, one model strutted down the runway in a loose magenta crepe dress with a hood which could be worn up or down loosely for a dash of individual flair.
But, designer offerings that followed displayed a lot more "wow" factor, for enthusiastic buyers.
Two-tone draped cashmere dresses caused fashionistas to sit up and take notice, for example.
Meanwhile, designers like Olivier Theysken, were doing about-faces that surprised the packed houses.
Indeed, fashion savvy women inched forward in their seats to get an up-close look at outfits which featured attractive boot-cut corduroy jeans, if you can believe it!
In addition, the quirky designer's focus was on floor-sweeping linen coats, which were tossed over sheer tops and paired with short-short denims that exposed a lot of precious leg.
Cable-knit sweaters, long military coats, and pants signalled a departure for women come fall!
Elsewhere - right-on-the-money designers - introduced rich collections which featured eye-catching fringe flourishes, pleats, capes, and printed pants even!
Gals with high-style and big bucks will be tripping-the-light-fantastic come September as they break free from the doldrums that tough economic times imposed the past season or two in fashion circles around the country.
Later!
