President Barack Obama...Medicare quote of day! Palm-reading gift for Birthday Boy!

Last evening - when President Obama attended a star-studded soiree in honor of his a birthday, he uttered up the Medicare quote of the day.

"When I turn 50 tomorrow," he chirped jokingly, "I will automatically receive an e-mail from AARP urging me to contact the White House to protest potential cuts to Medicare and Social Security."

Ok, so the President doesn't have the best delivery - not when it comes to stand-up comedy - go figure.

Uh-huh!

Mr. Obama will have to leave the one-liners to seasoned pros like Letterman, Jimmy Fallon, and Mr. Leno over at NBC.

But, surely - he has a unique gift or two to rely on - in the event that the gig on the hill doesn't work out.

If that's President Obama's actual hand imprint posted above - then golly - there is hope for the classy man-of-letters (for sure).

It just so happens, after all, that I am a well-known palmist (who has fathomed up an accurate analysis or two over the years since I first began following the teachings of renowned palm-readers and psychics like the likes of celebrated Ceiro).

In view of the fact it is Mr. Obama's birthday today, I am offering up a free reading!

In the words of Marilyn Monroe?

"Happy Birthday, Mr. President!"

Palm Analysis of President Barack Obama

The life line on the palm pictured above is long - and subsequently - indicates a life span into the nineties. The crease on the "inside" to the left is a positive sign of protection from out-of-the-blue accidents, and mishaps, which might normally occur during the regular course of the President's daily schedule.

The heart line starts below the 1st finger and runs across the entire hand, where it finally rests just below the pinky. Generally, this indicates a long love affair (with a childhood sweetheart) that survives the trials and tribulations of time. Because the line ends on the Mount of Luna, the lovebirds will end up retiring in a foreign land (near the sea).

Unfortunately, the head line breaks at the career line, which indicates a sudden career change due to unexpected events or an error in judgement.

But, because the Sun Line is strong and healthy - and rises up into the third finger - there are definitely many accolades, awards, and honors crowning Barack's life.

Part of Mr. Obama's fate is unwritten, though.

How the President handles the opportunities that come his way in the next five years will determine how his life will pan out for the next twenty years.

Bony fingers denote an analytical mind and profound thinker.

You know what they say: still waters run deep!

Because the mount of Venus is half-developed (not too fleshy) there is a need for Obama to relax more and court some of the finer "things' of life such as the Art, Music, and the Theatre.

Obama's thumb is a bit flexible, so it shows he can be a "push over", at times.

Kind heart!

And, how was your day, folks?

Sarah Palin...Kingmaker or troublemaker? New Hampshire stomp well-received!

Was it a coincidence that Sarah Palin stomped in New Hampshire today on the heels of the intriguing news that Mitt Romney (Mr. Megabucks) is making a bid for President in the upcoming election?

"No way," according to the pundits!

In fact, in view of the great reception Ms. Palin received today with her horse & pony show back east, political analysts are already speculating that the former Ice Queen from Alaska is currently testing the waters to fathom whether her growing popularity is sufficient to springboard her into the spotlight once again.

In a nutshell?

Although Palin is adamant that she is just a "voice" right now, articulating the rage of the American people, supporters on the sidelines are hinting that the feisty upstart will - most assuredly - take a run at the White House once again.

All the other scuttlebutt is simply a smokescreen!

But, she's a one-trick pony, in the final analysis.

At this juncture, it is a given, that the scandal-ridden Palin is either Kingmaker or troublemaker.

"Anyone expecting to run on the ticket will need a Palin endorsement," some are predicting on the highways and broadcast airwaves of the Nation.

The truth of the matter?

If Ms. Palin runs for President, it is doubtful she will win.

Too much baggage, in my opinion!

In her heart-of-heart she knows that!

The best Palin can hope for is place in the sun next to the newly-anointed "King".

Later!

President Barack Obama...in the dog-house over nasty Tamale quip! 1st Lady annoyed!

Getting down 'n dirty with the troops earlier today back east obviously had a down-side.

Did some of the rough-house manners of the salty Marines rub off on the Commander-in-Chief?

For example, tonight - when President Obama was quizzed about his favorite snack food at a festive cinco de mayo celebration at the White House  - he was quick on-the-uptake (and put-down).

'Mexian food," he beamed, without hesitation.

Then, for some inexplicable reason, he was inspired to take a dig at his wife Michelle out-of-the-blue.

"Just try to get between a Tamale and Michelle," he quipped, to a shocked audience in attendance.

The 1st Lady obviously wasn't amused, judging by her body language.

In fact, if looks could kill, the Secret Service would have been dashing up to the podium to try to revive the President after the fatal blow took its deadly toll.

Something tells me the Prez ain't getting any nooky, tonight!

Barack will have to settle for the couch, a porno, and a hand-job - I guess.

Of course, he could order "out".

Give Charlie Sheen a call, Mr. President!

Just betcha the "machine" can hook 'ya up with a pricey babe made-to-order.

But, don't sniff any of the white stuff she offers up, okay?

Barack Obama...jets into San Francisco! Horns of dilemma!

Once again, President Obama is jetting into the picturesque bay area to lock "horns" with the captains of Industry on the West Coast.

Actually, on the heels of a controversy over the President's reluctance to engage in a little show-and-tell by coughing up his elusive long-form birth certificate - stirred up by irascible White House hopeful Donald Trump - Obama has reiterated once again for the record that he doesn't have any horns!

"And, I became a man in Chicago," he quipped at the podium last week on the heels of the "birthing" issue which was recently resurrected - ironically - during the sacred Easter holiday season.

However, Governor Brewer nixed all that when she got cold feet and vetoed a bill to force the President's claw - er - hand.

Did Brewer back down for political reasons (with an eye to the future) or because she just doesn't have the balls anymore to fight with the big boys on the hill in Washington?

Meanwhile, the President will rub elbows with enterprising Facebook owner - Mark Zuckerberg  - and other technology leaders shortly after he touches down on the tarmac.

The spirited talks - mostly behind-closed-doors - are expected to put the spotlight on Government investments in research and development, education, and clean energy," according to Barack's handlers.

The president is slated to arrive Thursday evening, then fly out of San Francisco International Airport on Friday morning, on a precise no-nonesense time-table.

Will Barack dawdle a moment-or-two at SFO to take a gander at dazzling spanking-new Terminal 2, which was recently transformed into a jet-setter's hop-over paradise?

By the way, the President has invited fascinated voters to get involved virtually - on the Internet this intriguing time-around.

Barack is now utilizing the potent power of the world-wide-web (and its ubiquitous presence) to rustle up - a younger, hipper, more technologically-advanced demographic - which will undoubtedly help him land the election in 2012.

While the White House insists that the President is only trying to reach out to Americans who would not generally turn to traditional media sources for information, Facebook has been exploiting the situation in a sly bold-faced effort to play a major role in President Obama's political campaign next year.

It's good for business, after all.

The heck with the country, eh?

Do you suppose the hornless one owns stock in the popular social hub?

Only the Winklevoss twins - and Mark Zuckerberg - know for sure.

President Obama...State Dinner for President Hu! Barbra Streisand comment offensive to Chinese?

Handshakes across the water!

President Obama toasted Chinese President Hu, the 1st Lady looked stunning in a red silk organza gown with delicate black flourishes, and the tony elite nibbled on a five-course dinner (before saunering off for an evening of live entertainment) under a distinguished-looking three-quarter-length portrait of President Lincoln who stared down on the goings-on from a far wall.

The occasion?

Why - a State dinner at the White House in honor of Chinese President Hu who is currently visiting these shores - of course!

There was a lot of pomp and circumstance throughout the course of the heady evening, too!

President Obama saluted the people of both Nations on the auspicious occasion, for starters.

"May they (the Chinese & the Americans) grow together in friendship. May they prosper together in peace. And may they realize their dream of the future for themselves, for their children and for their grandchildren," he stressed with great poignancy.

The glittering affair was attended by the "Who's Who" of American Society.

Well, supporters of the Democrats, to be sure!

Former Presidents Clinton and Carter were spied mingling among a host of celebrated luminaries who dressed-to-the-nines for the dazzling don't-miss event.

Mainstays on the political scene - Henry Kissinger and Madelaine Albright, for instance - put in appearances, too.

Not to be outdone, the Hollywood red-carpet-crowd turned out in full force to get up-close-and-personal with power brokers on Washington Hill.

The guest list included - Barbra Streisand, Vogue Editor Anna Wintour, Cellist Yo-You Ma, film star Jackie Chan, Fashion Designer Vera Wang, and Walt Disney Chief Executive Robert Iger  - to name a few.

The rarefied uppercrust who attended supped on a menu featuring mouth-watering entrees such as Maine Lobster and dry-aged rib-eye.

"Typically American," according to White House officials.

In spite of growing controversy in recent years over China's use of dangerous lead in children's toy exports, the shameful shunning of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, a tendency to use real animal fur in fashion offerings to the dismay of animal activists, and allegations of unfair competition by U.S. Lawmakers - most scrambled at the opportunity to sashay into the tony affair.

When Barbra Streisand was asked how she wangled an invite, she allegedly quipped to a reporter:

"I used to work at a Chinese restaurant."

Ooops!

I wonder how the Chinese feel about the stereo-type and being slighted by big-bucks-bab?

I expect there will also be an outcry later in the week when an investigative journalist turns in on a report on the cost of the Hu dinner during  these tough economic times.

Bon Jovi...Obama pick for White House Council for Community Solutions!

White House calls rocker!

Youthful rocker Bon Jovi - still kicking around the concert trail and delighting music fans far-and-wide - has been selected by President Barack Obama to slip into a coveted seat on a White House panel that will seek to bring together individuals, organizations, businesses, and non-profits - with the specific aim of identifying and addressing community outreach needs.

No doubt it was Jovi's high-profile invovlement with his own stellar "Jovi Soul Foundation" that was the lure for our beleaguered President.

After all, the dynamic stage performer - with the sexy rocker persona - helped create affordable housing for low-income families and individuals through the auspices of the altruistic organization he started up and currently presides over.

Fans may recall that the charismatic pop icon also tossed a fundraiser for Obama during the President's bid for office which may account for the untraditional coupling of two - um - odd bedfellows.

Jovi is expected to knock heads with - educators, religious leaders, entrepreneurs (and so forth-and-so-on) - in his new role which should prove to be quite challenging in view of the currect political, social, and economic climate!

Fox News...squeaky wheel gets oil. Underdog news outlet movin' up...

Move on up!

Well, they won't have Fox News to kick around any more!

And, the brass at the underdog "network" have Helen Thomas to thank for it.

The White House Correspondents' Association has announced that they will be playing some musical chairs in the briefing room at the White House in the next few days.

Say what?

A classic case of squeaky wheel getting the oil?

On the heels of the unceremonious departure of Helen Thomas, Fox was given the nod to pack up their kit 'n kaboodle and slip into a prestigious slot in the front row where all the action is.

According to the WHCA, politics did not play a role in their decision to move Fox "up".

"We were  persuaded by Fox's length of service and commitment to the White House television pool."

Since the forced retirement of Helen Thomas (who was shown the back door for making inappropriate comments on-the-fly a few weeks ago ) three of the major news outlets have been chomping at the bit to inch closer to the podium where they would be better placed to eyeball the President at White House press briefings.

Under the revised seating plan, Associated Press will hold court in the center spot, vacated by Thomas.

Fox News will feather a little nest (in the old wire services spot) alongside CNN and a couple of reputable Broadcast Networks of note.

In the spite of the changes, Bloomberg remains in the second row, as NPR moves up from the third row to Fox's current second-row seat.

Although the Financial Times will now get a regular seat, U.S. News & World Report lost theirs.

Meanwhile, Politico and American Urban Radio Networks moved into the third row, as the Washington Times fell back into the fourth without argument.

The foreign press pool was granted its own seat under the revised plan.

Several news organizations either petitioned to get regular seats in the briefing room - or made a bid to keep their current seats - which signalled all may not be cozy and well in the White House Press Room just yet.

Is there a spot for moi?

General McChrystal...a slippery slope stabilizes for President Obama!

A boner of contention!

He sprinted on seven-mile stretches along the rugged terrain at the crack of dawn, was a 4-star General who savored a great  camaraderie with his fellow soldiers up-and-down the chain of command) - and quite possibly - ate nails for breakfast.

And, at the height of his brillliant military career, stumbled.

Uh-huh.

General McChrystal was given (allowed to hand-deliver) his walking papers.

Background Story

http://ijulian.blogspot.com/2010/06/general-mcchrystalgets-sack-according.html

In the  infamous Rolling Stone interview at the aforementioned link, one of McChrystal's crusty chronies was heard to lament that the General was never given the President's undivided attention.

"He (Barack Obama) didn't even fu**king know who his top dawg in Afghanistan was," barked out the Officer in so many words.

The boss was pissed.

The comments didn't fall on deaf ears, though.

When the General was "summoned" to the White House, a spokesperson underscored that the top honcho in charge of Afghanistan would be getting Obama's "undivided attention".

Ironic that!

The meeting he longed for was his last.

Though tough to make, the decision to let McChrystal go ended up being best for the country, the troops overseas, and the Afghanistan war.

In a nutshell, President Barack Obama triggered - and in the aftermath - re-established civilian control over the military.

On the heels of the General's resignation, the President noted for the record that his decision to relieve McChyrstal of his duties was not due to any disagreement in policy or out of any sense of personal insult.

It all boiled down to a code of conduct unbefitting an officer.

I happen to be one of those inquiring individuals who believes that the General and his men made a deliberate effort to engage the Rolling Stone writer - and thereafter - hurled the insults knowing full well they'd be published.

Why?

To cast dissent, stir up the stakes, you name it.

Interestingly, on Larry King Live last night, the insightful writer was asked on-camera via satellite if they (the General and his jarhead buddies) knew it was coming.

The journalist paused longer than usual, reflected for a moment, then told Larry he had warned them there might be a couple of rough days ahead.

But, I had another take on Larry's question.

Did he mean did they know what the reaction would be or that the article he was penning was about to perform a full-frontal lobotomy on these yahoos?

Only Larry King has the answer to that question.

In my mind, because General MChrystal and his  gung-ho grunts courted the reporter, they ended up getting their just desserts.

The big swinging dick stopped here.

I never promised you a Rose Garden!

Joe Sestak...Fox News chases down Senator in corridors of power!

What a hoot!

If you turn to Fox News you'll catch a harried attempt by reporters and camera-men to corner their latest prey Senator Joe Sestak.

Fox is hell-bent on getting a verbal statement about the brewing scandal around former President Bill Clinton in the wake of the news that at the direction of the Chief of White House Staff, the former President was asked to act as an intermediary to "test the waters" in respect to dropping out of the primaries.

BACKGROUND

http://ijulian.blogspot.com/2010/05/barack-obamascandal-brewing-scurrilous.html

Just moments ago, Fox reporters - who have been staking out territory on Washington Hill with the ultimate aim of having a go at Senator Joe Sestak - suddenly spied their target and began a merry chase.

The Senator tried to avoid the aggressive Fox reporters by ducking  down a stairwell.

The paparazzi followed in hot pursuit as they hurled pointed questions in his direction.

The Senator was due to "vote" on an issue and used that excuse to explain his failure to be straightforward with the press.

Sestak previously noted for the record that he was not going to dodge questions.

Hence, the reason Fox News chose to appear unexpectedly on his doorstep, for an impromptu interview.

Senator Sestak promised to make a statement shortly, so now media hounds wait with bated breath in the corridors of power for the answers.

Barack Obama...Sestak scandal brewing! Scurrilous horse-trading in Washington...

A scandal is brewing on the horizon for Barack Obama.

A source close to the President - with an axe to grind, perhaps? - has accused the administration of offering a plum government job to Joe Sestak to bow out of the race against Senator Arlen Specter.

Acccording to Federal Law, actions of this nature - if true - would demand a criminal investigation and subsequent prosecution if found meritorous in a Court of Law.

The problem?

The President and his cronies on Washington Hill have not been forthright in "coming clean" on the issues.

In fact, many have accused the administration of stone-walling.

On the heels of the revelation, Senator Orrin Hatch fired off a letter to Attorney General Eric Holder with a demand for an immediate investigation.

President Obama...plug the damn hole! Squeaky wheel gets oil....

The hell with those bastards!

In the wake of the BP disaster  the tensions on Capitol Hill have been mounting

Now that the finger-pointing phase has died down, the focus has shifted to conjuring up solutions to resolving the ongoing crisis in Florida.

TV pundits and insiders at the White House are whispering to all within earshot that President Obama has not been tough enough with the British Petroleum company.

Understandably, over the past couple of days, the attitude of BP has been appalling.

Right now, the English-based company is operating in damage-control mode.

Do they even care about the wildlife that has been devasted by what is being caused the worst disaster in U.S. History?

The White House hasn't faired much better in the image department around the globe.

Those charged with the task of updating the status of the spill also complain that Obama becomes tighter-lipped by the day.

Without doubt, the President is reaching a near-breaking point and about to come unglued.

A recent outburst behind-closed-doors a few scant hours ago would tend to suggest that.

After cutting off an aide, he reacted in  knee-jerk style.

"Plug the damn hole," Obama ordered.

Yes, Sir!

Hail to the Chief.

Jacqueline Kennedy...Steven Spielberg pitching script! Jackie O's dark days...

The celebrated socialite - and former wife of one of the most-respected Presidents in U.S. History - is to be the subject of a screen biopic if Steven Spielberg has any say in it.

Spielberg, arguably one of the top power-brokers in Hollywood today, has jumped on board the project in the capacity of Producer.

The screenplay - written by Noah Oppenheim (a former producer on the "Today" show) - intends to focus an insightful lens on Jackie O's last dark days at the White House in the aftermath of her husband's assassination in Dallas, Texas.

The twist?

Oppenheimer's material is allegedly written from the point of view of Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis.

A toughie, when you consider that most of the principals in the modern-day tragedy - Jackie Kennedy, son John F. Kennedy Jr., Robert F. Kennedy - even Senator Edward Kennedy (who passed away to spirit in recent months) - are no longer with us in the actual flesh.

Does Oppenheimer intend to rely on the recollections of daughter Caroline Kennedy?

Or, does he have a parcel of heretofore unpublished documents (and/or private letters) to draw on to breath some new life into the highly-scrutinized age-old saga?

And, now that the issue has been raised, I am inclined to wonder - too - if the project has received a blessing from the Kennedy clan (what's left of 'em).

Inquiring minds want to know!

Curiously, years ago, I was hired to play a Secret Service Agent on the TV Show - The Twilight  Zone (CBS) - for an episode on time travel which featured a re-enactment of the Kennedy assassination in Dallas.

With startling detail, the producers recreated the infamous limo scene - where Jackie jumped out of her seat in the open motorcade and onto the rear trunk - shortly after John F. Kennedy was shot.

I was in that scene, in addition to others at a mansion that doubled as the White House, which focused on events triggered by the shocking tragedy.

I wonder, will Spielberg also push for a flash-back of that black day in American history?

If so, maybe I should dust off my dark suit, and keep my eye out for audition calls!

World stunned by Onassis marriage!

Barack Obama...donates Nobel Peace $$$ to charities!

When Barack Obama was honored with the Nobel Peace Prize a furor broke out around the globe.

The once prestigious award soared downward in stature in the aftermath.

To many, Barack Obama (only in office a few weeks before being heartily nominated for his alleged contributions to the cause) was an undeserving candidate who didn't pass muster in the lofty realm of world peacemaker (making a difference).

The President appeared to be embarrassed by the honor, too.

In recent days, the White House announced that President Obama will donate the prize money - the staggering sum of 1.4 million - to a handful of good causes.

$250,000.00 will be bestowed on the Fisher House, a National non-profit that houses families whose loved ones are receiving care and medical attention at Veterans Administration facilities.

In a noble effort to help Haiti recover from the recent earthquake tragedy, the President will also fork over $200,000.00 to bootstrap a worthy relief fund.

The balance will be distributed to a handful of organizations such as development groups in Africa and Central Asia, to fund scholarships, and plough much-needed cash into education foundations.

I hope Mr. Obama will hold back at least a hundred dollars and use those funds to treat the Missus to a romantic candlelight dinner and night on-the-town.

Most deserving in view of the foregoing humanitarian acts, don't 'ya think?

Heh, big spender!

President Barack Obama...partners with YouTube for fireside chat! Q & A with head honcho February 1st...

In spite of the fact the State of the Union address on Wednesday appeared to underscore to many political pundits, Republicans, and Barack Obama critics (and foes) that the President fell short - his rallying team  insisted in an e-mail communication to me this evening that undoubtedly the universe was unfolding as it should (as my own Prime Minister Pierre Elliot Trudeau once eloquently noted in an hour of defeat).

Why?

After the speech (in which the President laid out his priorities for jump-starting job creation, fighting to restore economic security to American families, and changing the way business is done in Washington) he met with Republicans at their retreat and answered questions directly for about sixty minutes.

In his down-to-earth communication to me - David Axelrod (one of Obama's Senior Advisors) - noted that the pow-wow was an honest and unscripted discussion where the President took questions and concerns seriously, acknowledged where his opponents made valid points, and explained genuinely where he felt they were wrong.

In the final analysis, Axelrod excitedly concluded that this event - which was triggered with little fanfare at the offset with no ulterior motive - was something few Americans thought conceivable in American politics.

"It was a real discussion with honest disagreements about the challenges Americans and their leaders face," he asserted in so many words.

Citizens who would like to catch the"historic" event - which was recorded on video for posterity - are invited to surf over to  http://www.whitehouse.gov/ where the footage is currently online for viewing.
"The President talked about how politicians of both parties need to work together to bring change to Washington. But changing our politics is not just about Washington. It’s about  every American citizen, knowing that government is listening and that you can hold your government accountable," Axelrod's army of suits sincerely stressed.

In an interesting twist (a sign of the times?) Axelrod also announced that the White Houe has partnered with YouTube to give Americans the opportunity to ask questions of the President.

Citizens are invited to "ask whatever you want" or just vote on other questions that fellow citizens have submitted.

The President will answer some of the queries in a unique event on Monday @ http://www.whitehouse.gov/

In conclusion, Barack Obama's staff noted that if changing politics were easy, it would have been done a long time ago.

"I hope we can all join the President in helping make that change happen."

President Obama...State of Union speech! Hints at what's on agenda...

Today, I received an e-mail communication fromthe Senior Advisor to President Obama outlining the highlights of the State of the Union speech slated for broadcast tomorrow night (January 27th).

According to Valerie Jarrett, the President will stand before a joint session of Congress and summarily outline "where we are" and "where we're going to be" as a Nation.

In preparation for the annual address, Mr. Obama apparently issued a directive to his Cabinet to prepare a report for the American people, in advance of the landmark political event.

Jarrett underscored in her communication that there will be short videos - which focus on progress made in the first year of  Barack Obama's presidency - in addition to a report back from the Cabinet on what lies ahead for their departments and agencies to keep America moving forward.

For example, Secretary Sebelius will talk about the Department of Health and Human Services' successes helping to prevent the spread of the H1N1 virus.

Also, Chu - Department of Energy Secretary -will highlight the thousands of green jobs they’ve created using Recovery Act dollars.

Secretary Clinton intends to detail the Department of State’s efforts to restore global partnerships.

State of the Union address:

http://www.whitehouse.gov/2010-Cabinet-Reports/?e=27&ref=image

At this juncture, the President's "right-hand", went on to note that when President Obama took office a year ago the country faced an array of historic challenges such as an economy in freefall, job losses averaging almost 700,000 a month, a middle class under assault, two wars and badly frayed global alliances.

Jarett asserts that - "when faced with these unparalleled challenges" - the President and his Cabinet got to work by taking a few bold steps to rescue the country from a possible second Great Depression, rebuild the economy for the long-term (so businesses can thrive, the middle class can grow, and all our families can be more secure) and to restore America’s leadership in the world as the U.S.  wrestles with the global challenges of the 21st Century.

Michelle Obama...invites "Citizens Medal" nominees!

In an e-mail communication this morning, Michelle Obama noted that the President normally hand-picks worthy candidates to be given the nod for a Citizens Award (which is the second highest honor for an American to receive).

In choosing such a candidate, the President keeps a keen eye toward exemplary deeds of service to the country or a fellow citizen.

Michelle Obama chose the occasion to inform me that this year the process will include nominees chosen by - we, the people - of the United State (home of the free).

If someone in this great Nation has inspired you - or likewise - selflessly dedicated themselves to a service that has touched your life (or the lives of others) you are encouraged to nominate that individual for the Citizens Award.

Past winners of this prestigious honor have included Colin Powell, politician Bob Dole and Civil Rights activist Rosa Parks (as well as everyday heroes like Oseola McCarty who left her entire life savings to establish a scholarship for students in need)

According to Michelle Obama, the bar has been set quite high; subsequently, only a worthy few will receive a Citizens Award.

Here is a sampling of the special qualities President Obama considers a prerequisite:

*People who demonstrated a commitment to service in the community
*People who helped their country or Citizens by way of great deeds
*People whose service inspired & sustained an impact

Since a multitude of Americans work every day to serve others, the 1st Lady has noted that this year's Citizens Medal, will specifically honor those who have shown exemplary service to help others outside of their normal jobs.

With that in mind, President Barack Obama and the 1st Lady invite U.S. Citizens to take a moment to nominate a hero in their mind's eyes or help honor an individual who has been unwavering in their commitment to service in the community-at-large.

White House Nomination Process

*Nominations are open for one week
*Nominations will be reviewed by White House staff
*Nominations will be sent to the President for a final decision
*Recipients will receive awards in a ceremony at the White House

Good luck!

Senator Scott Brown...nude layout reveals stimulus package! Cosmo grabbed him in 1982...

You have to wonder if the reason Scott Brown got elected in Massachusetts was due to the fact he posed in Cosmopolitan years ago.

I expect that his opponents got wind of the splashy nude spread and plastered it around Mass (the State) to tarnish his political image.

But, instead of turning voters against him, the revelation boomeranged in his lusty favor as voters turned out in droves to cast their ballots.

Today, folks (male & female) are gazing on his studly bod and giving a thumbs up!

Wouldn't kick him out of bed for eating crackers, eh?

The silver temples underscore Brown's a dignified mature man in control of  his - um - faculties!

Unlike yesterday - where musical beds were the campus sport - I surmise that dinner and a fine glass of vintage wine amount to foreplay in his post frat boy stage.

Burt Reynolds, the first high-profile (straight?) celebrity to sprawl out on a bearskin rug by a roaring fire with a come hither look, understood the importance of sizzling exposure here and there now and then.

Just ask Dinah, darlink!

And, the million or so bucks Cosmos forks over to get down 'n dirty in the buff,  is nothing to sniff at.

In fact, Brown confessed he did the strip tease cause he needed intuition for college.

Not as clever as Marilyn Monroe's quip when it was learned she (OMG!) tossed off her frilly underthings to pose for a series of titillating publicity stills.

As the news broke about the potentially-raunchy cheesecake, there were a couple of tense moments for Marilyn, when she found herself cornered by a frenzied posse of paparazzi chomping at the bit for all the tawdry details.

When reporters quizzed her pointedly about what she had "on" when the photographer snapped away, without batting a luscious eyelash she coquettishly purred:

"The radio."

One wrong word and her dazzling legit career would have been in shambles; instead, her quick wit and delicious sense of humor saved her from the brink of disaster.

Consequently, her reach for the brass ring soared to greater heights.

Instead of being flogged in the backrooms of sleazy all-night bookstores in a plain brown wrapper, the photos were snapped up to  grace the pages of a quality calendar which is a pricey collector's item today.

Brown?

I expect he'll be pumping the fleshy bejwelled hands of politician's wives on the campaign trail.

The charismatic opportunist with the healthy libido may even sign a jaunty autograph across his bare chest (or elsewhere for kicks).

By the way, a strageticaly-placed hand teasingly hides his "Johnson" in the lay-out.

To fit all his manhood in, required a two-pager feature, with strict adherance to strategic positioning.

On that note, do 'ya suppose the man-of-the-hour is into the missionary or doggie-style?

The editors have coined a few slogans for his next political campaign, by the way.

*Who Needs Joe Plumber When You Can Have Scott Six-Pack?

*Scott Brown: A Name You Can Trust, Abs You Can Believe In

*Vote for Brown. He Has One Hell of a Stimulus Package

If he makes it to the White House, some underage page (in a pretty frock and bright red lipstick) just may find out up-close and personal.

Barack Obama...Immigration overhaul in works! Temporary Visas may require INS monitoring...

Chief of Staff responds to disgruntled Doris Meissner!

The other day, I ranted a little over the local Police Chief's vigorous defense of Special Order 40, and his overall lack of common sense regarding illegal immigrant issues.

Post:  12/27/09

http://ijulian.blogspot.com/2009/12/illegal-immigrantsspecial-order-40.html

On the heels of the controversy, the White House has announced that the Barack Obama adminstration intends to tackle the immigration problem which is long overdue for an overhaul.

Right-off-the-bat, critics have pooh-poohed the notion, on the grounds that Obama has too much on his plate already.

Promises to deal with global warming, econmic recovery, and much-needed regulation in the banking arena, are a far cry from being met.

In spite of that, insiders have whispered that Senior aides have glad-handed Latino activists on the hill, and assured powerful forces within their ranks that a reform will be forthcoming.

Bottom line, a handful of the trusted in Obama's inner circle, have hinted that there will be legislation guaranteeing Citizenship to an estimated 12 million legal immigrants residing on these shores at last count.

Whether a bill squeaks through or not may depend on the ability of supporters to establish that efforts to secure the borders will be successful.

With this in mind, an ambitious plan for a temporary visa program for migrant workers, has been bandied about once again (in spite of the fact it was roundly rejected in the past).

Opponents argue that once a temporary visa is issued to a day-worker, there is no guarantee the individual will return to their homeland once the documents expire.

Of course, I have toyed with my own solution to that problem.

In the event temporary visas are issued to seasonal workers - as a matter of course - the INS would be entitled to monitor the legal status of the day workers in the fields, at plants where immigrants are employed seasonally, and so forth and so on.

Employers caught hiring illegal immigrants would face stiff fines as a deterrent - with the proceeds going towards the funding of the temporary Visa program and its subsequent backup checkpoint system.

To date, the White House has been tight-lipped about a guest worker program.

It should be noted that that an immigration bill was introduced a few weeks ago and hat there is an all-out effort behind-the-scenes currently to piece together the groundwork.

But, time is of the essence, according to sources.

Realistically, key individuals would have to agree on issues prior to the spring thaw..

Otherwise, because of the upcoming November elections, an Immigration bill may stall - and consequently - end up on the back burner stewing.

In the event immigration legislation gets new life breathed into it, and goes forwrard by some miracle, political pundits are speculating that White House Chief of Staff - Rahm Emanuel - will have a hand in nurturing it to fruition.

After all, in the past, Emanuel has demonstrated a sensitivity towards high-profile players on both sides of the fence, which has not gone unnoticed by his superiors.

However, those he has allegedly "berated" in the past, have nothing but unkind criticisms for the man.

In the morning daily, for instance, an  LA TIMES reporter noted that Doris Meissner (former head of the INS) complained that Mr. Emanuel overstepped his authority on one occasion when he rang her up on the telephone and demanded she send border agents to handle a troubling incident in Arizona which was drawing fire from the media.

"This kind of press is killing us," he allegedly hissed at her.

Frankly, I've had dealings with Ms. Meissner - being an immigrant, and all - and found the woman to be useless.

In fact, I cheered the day she was sent packing!

When I recall her shocking lack of professionalism, overall incompetence, and disturbing lack of suitability for the post, I am reminded of an old saying which is applicable here.

"Consider the source"

Doris was gainfully employed at Department of Injustice

President Obama...appoints Howard Schmidt to head up CyberSecurity @ White House!

Today, I received an e-mail from one of my contacts at the White House, informing me that the President has chosen Howard Schmidt to be the White House Cybersecurity Coordinator.

John O. Brennan - Assistant to the President for Homeland Security & Counterterrorism - prefaced the announcement by noting that protecting the internet is critical to National Security, public safety, and the personal privacy of U.S. Citizens and their civil liberties.

"It’s also vital to President Obama’s efforts to strengthen our country, from the modernization of our health care system to the high-tech job creation central to our economic recovery," he added matter-of-fact.

Howard Schmidt will have the responsibility of orchestrating the many important cybersecurity activities across the government.

According to White House officials, the appointee is one of the world’s leading authorities on computer security with some forty years of experience in government, business and law enforcement.

Howard will have regular access to the President and serve as a key member of his National Security Staff.

He will also work closely with Obama's economic team to ensure that cybersecurity efforts in the Nation are secure and prosperous.

In closing, Brennan noted that Officials in Washington will use the WhiteHouse.gov e-mail program  (and  other communication tools) to keep concerned citizens such as myself (and others) posted about the progress being made in this area which is of utmost importance to President Obama.

I look forward to those updates, Mr. President!
