Sarah Palin...Kingmaker or troublemaker? New Hampshire stomp well-received!

Was it a coincidence that Sarah Palin stomped in New Hampshire today on the heels of the intriguing news that Mitt Romney (Mr. Megabucks) is making a bid for President in the upcoming election?

"No way," according to the pundits!

In fact, in view of the great reception Ms. Palin received today with her horse & pony show back east, political analysts are already speculating that the former Ice Queen from Alaska is currently testing the waters to fathom whether her growing popularity is sufficient to springboard her into the spotlight once again.

In a nutshell?

Although Palin is adamant that she is just a "voice" right now, articulating the rage of the American people, supporters on the sidelines are hinting that the feisty upstart will - most assuredly - take a run at the White House once again.

All the other scuttlebutt is simply a smokescreen!

But, she's a one-trick pony, in the final analysis.

At this juncture, it is a given, that the scandal-ridden Palin is either Kingmaker or troublemaker.

"Anyone expecting to run on the ticket will need a Palin endorsement," some are predicting on the highways and broadcast airwaves of the Nation.

The truth of the matter?

If Ms. Palin runs for President, it is doubtful she will win.

Too much baggage, in my opinion!

In her heart-of-heart she knows that!

The best Palin can hope for is place in the sun next to the newly-anointed "King".

Later!

West Hollywood...all-male gay City Council looms on horizon! Political times are-a-changing!

A candidate for West Hollywood City Council - known for hanging an effigy of Sarah Palin on his roof during the 2008 Presidential Race - is running alongside five other fresh faces in the upcoming election on Tuesday.

John Heilman - the current Mayor (a City Council bench-warmer since 1984 when the boon town was first incorporated as a "gay" city) - is fighting for his seat with two fellow council members (Abbe Land and Lindsay Horvath).

The bid for power in WeHo - affectionately known to the locals as "gay gulch" - is expected to be a contentious battle right up until the last ballot is cast.

In the event the six upstarts nab three available seats, WeHo would make history for voting in the country's first all-male gay City Council.

Subsequently, there has been an outcry from a handful of the locals.

"Certainly it would be quite unique and historic. But straight women and lesbians are feeling like - "If these guys get there who is going to look out for us" - one resident piped up a bit indignantly to one media outlet.

On the other hand, quite a few contented WeHo males are happy with the status quo, and the way the city is growing.

Even still, candidates have been focusing their debates on parking restrictions, over development in the neighborhood (too many unsightly odd-ball Condo Units, for example, in place of quaint cottages that were once the norm), and the need to preserve LGBT culture in the community.

Personally, I'm all for new "blood" in City Council chambers!

Getting folks out to the polls will be key in accomplishing that task!

See 'ya there!

Newsmax...novel Webcast online gimmick! Kicks off with Sarah Palin!

It wasn't labelled spam!

But, the screaming e-mail - inviting me to participate in an unprecedented series of web discussions and debates October 12th thru November 2nd - landed with a thud just shy of it.

In bold - red, white, and blue type (a sensational attention-grabber, don't 'ya think?) - Newsmax touted an exciting landmark political event - replete with a lineup of the Nation's most respected and powerful voices.

The "Queen of the Tea Party" circuit - for example - will kick off the campaign.

Uh-huh!

Sarah Palin is slated to take center stage on October 12th and run off at-the-mouth for the much-ballyhooed campaign:

"Make America Great Again"

According to the public relations folks at Newsmax, they have taken a cue from a Palin superhero of yesteryear.

Allegedly, the event is in honor of President Ronald Reagan’s immortal 1980 pledge to restore:

“The great confident roar of American progress and growth and optimism.”

But, I have an inkling that the launch is a well-orchestrated attempt to win over the madding crowd of voters, who traverse the Internet in search of political certainty.

"As you know, Governor Palin has been a passionate and much-needed voice in these times. She has helped organize a powerful grass-roots movement toward restoring sensibility, personal freedoms, and accountability in America," a copy-writer breathlessly gushed in the press release.

And, as I humbly key in this post, it appears that the organizers at Newsmax are endeavouring to accomplish so much more than that, though.

"We are reaching out to the very folks you turn to when you want the real story on matters that affect your family, your country, and your freedoms."

Indeed!

Newsmax has arranged for a series of exclusive online interviews with high-profile citizens which will broadcast October 12th thru November 2nd.

According to insiders, Dick Morris - a top political strategist and the man "Time" magazine referred to as “the most influential private citizen in America” - has agreed to participate in this important program.

Also on the roster?

A sit-down chat with Mike Reagan, best-selling author, syndicated columnist, and eldest son of President Ronald Reagan.

Although Mike's book ("New Reagan Revolution") won't hit the presses 'til next year, he'll share his thoughts on the subject during the the Newsmax presentation next month.

Why?

To fuel up Americans, so they will hopefully recognize the need to "take America back" now!

You go, girl!

Chris Klein...popular actor busted for DUI @ crack of dawn!

Likeable lug Chris Klein was spied weaving across the white line at approximately 3:15 a.m. this morning -  according to an officer on duty at the California Highway Patrol - who promptly signalled the popular actor to pull over to the curb.

The 31-year-old stud is well-known for appearing in a handful of comedies that have faired well at the box office (American Pie).

At the New Beverly Cinema a few weeks ago, at a sceening of "Election", Mr. Klein appeared in person at the highly-publicized event and entertained fans with side-splitting anecdotes that left the filmgoers rolling in the aisles.

That night, Klein noted that he was discovered by the director one day, when he was in town scouting locations for his upcoming film "Election".

Klein was behind the wheel of his black 1999 when the alert copper caught sight of him having difficulty maneuvering the vehicle at the intersection of the 101 Freeway and Woodman Avenue in the Valley.

According to police reports, Klein was booked at the Van Nuys Police Station (armpit of the Nation) for driving under the influence of alcohol and released without bail.

In the past, sexy Klein has been linked romantically to high-profile actress Katie Holmes.

Maybe he was cryin' the blues last night?

Roman Polanski's...allegations about Steve Cooley true! DA engages in extortion attempts, Intimidation Tactics, Harassment, & Rights Violations!

Corrupt District Attorney Steve Cooley!

Today, the news wires were all awash with a statement Roman Romanski released in his first public overture, since the beleaugered director was first apprehended several months ago in respect to a controversial ongoing rape trial.

Good friend, Bernard-Henri Levi, published the comments on his web site over the weekend.

In his defense, the diminuitive auteur (Rosemary's Baby) argued that the case was unjust because of alleged discrepancies in the original court proceedings many moons ago.

In addition, Mr. Polaaski pointed an accusing finger at Steve Cooley in the Los Angeles DA's office.

Polanski alleges that Cooley's motives are not in sync with the official duties of his office (to seek Justice and uphold the Law) but rather, selfishly geared towards feathering his own nest.

The aging Lothario has accused Cooley of using his rape case to bolster his profile in the political arena - with the ultimate aim - of catapulting himself into higher office in the upcoming election.

"He needs media publicity," Polanski asserted for the record.

Well, I haven't reviewed all the court documents, so it would not be appropriate for me to comment on the alleged discrepancies in the lower court proceedings which transpired a couple of decades ago in Los Angeles.

However, from my own experience in recent weeks - and based on documentary evidence in my possesion under lock-and-key - Mr. Cooley and his staff have consistently ignored  State & Federal Statutes, engaged in intimidation tactics, attempted to extort monies from innocent ciizens, Violated Rights of Citizens, and participated in cover-ups and conspiracies with the ultimate aim of protecting their own selfish, dishonest, illegal interests.

I penned a post on these matters a few weeks ago as my readers may recall.

Post:  04/20/10

http://ijulian.blogspot.com/2010/04/stev-cooleystaff-in-district-attorneys.html

At that time, I fired off a written communication to Mr. Cooley by U.S. Post with a request that he respond to the allegations.

As of this date, the chicken-sh**  has not only failed to provide a defense, but hasn't even given me the courtesy of a reply.

Why?

Because the allegations are true!

Mr. Cooley, I am a taxpayer and a resident of this great Nation; therefore, I am entitled to a response.

You work for me, Sir.

And, the other voters of this fine city.

Did you forget that when you took office you took an oath to uphold the law and seek Justice for all?

Notwithstanding, because you drawa check from the public coffers, you are required to fulfill all the duties of office - including, but not limited to - answering the concerns of its residents.

Because you have been derelict in your duty, and egaged in disreputable illegal criminal conduct, I shall seek a formal investigation into the affairs of your office!

For the record, I can not support you in your bid for office in the next election.

And, I wholeheartedly urge voters, to oust you from the DA's office.

You're a dead-weight taken up valuable space.

Karl Kraus once opined:
"Corruption is worse than prostitution. The latter might endanger the morals of an individual, the former invariably endangers the morals of the entire country."

Barack Obama, Arnold Schwarzenegger & Gavin Newsom...3 wise men bearing gifts?

Don't let the stars get in your eyes!

Best t*ts in dirty politics today!

They were  three men with distinct personalities and individual styles which matched up with their social and political aspirations.

Above all, each was voted into power by constituents who were not only a bit starry-eyed - but praying in their heart of hearts - that dirty politics and the old boy's network were part of a bygone era about to get the boot.

The candidates made a slew of promises, danced the old soft shoe, then fenagled their way into the living-rooms of the unsuspecting (remember the old tale of the wolf in sheep's clothing?) who were expecting radical changes overnight and assurances that each of their "Saviours" was in for the long haul.

Of course, their names are Barack Obama, Gavin Newsom, and Arnold Schwarzenegger.

The political postures the winsome threesome were drawn to - suited  'em - and dovetailed nicely with their unique persuasive skills.

Barack, known to be agile of mind, was capable of selling an Eskimo snow.

Of the three, Obama was the true political gladiator, humanized by the experience.

In fact, the PREZ was man enough to admit error, omission, lack of foresight (you name it).

Gavin, the aw-shucks Mayor, would have his supporters believe he was down-to-earth.

Just the kid next door!

That must be quite a neighborhood!

And then, there was  the larger-than-life Austrian (Schwarzenegger) who bulldozed his way into office after he mesmerized Californians with his superstar aura and promises to terminate those who got in his (and the voters) way.

Shall we call them the three wise men or Curly, Larry and Moe?

They're the three stooges, alright.

Pray that the next election delivers up a more lovable (reliable) cast of characters, eh?

Never trust a politician who can't give a cool thumbs up!

Mayor Gavin Newsom...chats up Idol host Seacrest about hair products! L'oreal is static free...

Thanks for the quickie!

San Francisco's Mayor Gavin Newsom flew in to town to have a ringside chat with Ryan Seacrest this morning on the radio about the wonders of L'oreal hair gel.

The two darling chatty-Kathies were having a gay old time until His Honor suddenly realized it might be wise to discuss a handful of campaign pledges in his upcoming run for Governor once the budget terminator steps down.

Gavin is quite the character, sort-of your typical kid from the wrong side of the tracks, with a shine in his pants.

And, with an arrogant street-wise personality, to match.

Heck, in one dull interview recently, he tried to spark up a controversy by bragging that he was a lousy speller.

Needless to say, his tweets are a little slow since he has to reach for his pocket dictionary every few seconds or so, to get his p's & q's just right.

Gavin keep this in the forefront of your mind:

"i" before "e" except after "c"

A bit of helpful advice?

Try your hand at scrabble - or at least a crossword daily - because either one has the capacity to sharpen word skills over time.

Newsom loves pomp and circumstance, though, in spite of his aw-shucks manner.

The last time I was in San Francisco, I took in his inaugeration at City Hall.

What a hoot!

A boy's choir, a girl's choir. No stops were pulled.

I seemed to recall, though, that the Mayor's office assured the press and his constituents that the celebration would be a low-key affair.

What- "Next to the Queen's Coronation?" - I joked to a local politician chuckling next to me in the gallery.

Take a gander at the post I wrote on the occasion of the swearing in and decide for yourself.

I expect that if Mayor Newsom lands a seat in the Gov'nor's Mansion, he'll rustle up some new-fangled ideas about how to pretty-up the State.

After all, in San Francisco he's known as the "green" Mayor, in view of his visionary efforts to heal the planet in a myriad of novels ways.

I even attended a "tree planting" ceremony he sponsored one nippy morning on Market Street, to get a take on what makes the Mayor's bark tick on environmental issues, for starters.

Pity, that!

There wasn't much of a turn-out for the much-ballyhooed event.

Some pooh-poohed that Gavin was on everyone's sh** list because he cancelled Halloween that year.

Big meanie!

But, that didn't deter golden boy.

He'll turn up at the opening of an envelope, given the chance!

Yup, when renovations on the downtown library - labelled "The Main" by famed journalist Herb Caen - were completed, Gavin stood in the wings at the ribbon-cutting ceremony chomping at the bit to spout his mouth off.

But, he sure wasn't going to dash to the podium 'til he was good 'n ready, and most certainly not in any way, shape, or form that might denegrate his importance in the eyes of all the social climbers in attendance in the main foyer that fateful day.

Yeah, I got all the unpleasant business down in my little black book and transferred all the dirt onto my blog site post-haste.

http://ijulian.blogspot.com/2008/01/san-francisco-librarygrand-opening.html

If Gavin does gets his foot in the Governor's door, he'll be the spittin' image of Clinton (slick Willy, dude) who was inclined to bend over a few pages now and then.

But, I admit, Gavin's "do" looks great!

And, he's managed to keep his di** in his trousers out of scandal's way, for about a year now.

Thank God for small mercies!

Once you have black you never go back!
