Britney Spears...to sashay into Nikki Beach Par-tay! "Circus Girl" the toast of Vegas!

The last time I spied Britney Spears poolside in the desert oasis was a couple of years ago when I attended the local film festival - CineVegas - at a handful of venues around town.

I was interviewing celebs on the red carpet when I happened to strike up a rapport with a couple of the local paparazzi who plied me with juicy inside tidbits about Ms. Spears.

Uh-huh!

Scandal-ridden Brit was suffering from the blues when she jetted in to town for a respite from it all that week.

"Britney is hunkered down in a Condo upstairs," one of the professional snoops confided in me.

"She's a good friend of the Hotel owner, George Maloof," he underscored, as an afterthought.

I was quite familiar with the scuttlebutt.

Ms. Spear's musical persona was in the dumper and rumors abounded that Maloof was going to sign her to a contract with the specific aim of raising up her wobbling career like a Phoenix from the ashes.

The two outgoing down-to-earth dudes were hanging out downstairs anxious to get a "money shot" before she skipped town.

"Good luck," I chuckled, as I headed off to a chic soiree I was invited to on the pool deck.

Shortly after I sauntered in, there was as definite buzz in the air.

Yup!

Although Britney made a quiet entrance into the par-tay through a side-door, the news swept through the upscale party guests quicker than the speed of lightning, that the scandal-ridden Pop Queen was in their midst!

I reported on the event at the time.

By the way, I couldn't resist strolling by the vicinity where she was holding court, to get a gander myself.

OMG!

Britney and I actually exchanged glances!

Now, her handlers have announced that Britney will be attending the Grand Opening of Nikki Beach at the newly-renovated Tropicana Hotel on the weekend, after she performs live! on stage in a much-anticipated Las Vegas concert. (which I expect will be a sell-out).

No doubt, long queues will form at the glittering Hotel on that celebrated evening, when the young DIVA makes her grand entrance into the frenzied swirl of Las Vegas social life!

See 'ya there!

Britney Spears..."Circus" comes to Vegas MGM Grand! June 25th!

Just a few weeks ago, San Franciscans maneuvered their way into a frenzied packed concert hall downtown, to get an up-close and personal gander at their Pop Princess!

Although a handful of critics sniped over every little thing - from the pouty star's alleged "lacklustre" robot-like dance moves to her oh-so ho-hum wardrobe struts - the die-hard fans were not disappointed in the least.

Now, the big Britney Spears "Circus" heads into Las Vegas on the 25th of June, and lands at the MGM Grand arena.

I expect the much-anticipated Brit extravaganza will be a sell-out!

See 'ya there, eh?

Adam Lambert...appears @ Mandalay Bay in Vegas! Idol star sold out!

What do you want from me?

In the case of Adam Lambert, not much.

The American Idol runner-up - who took the Nation by storm last year in spite of the fact he didn't snatch up the coveted 1st prize on Fox's hit variety show - has a lot to crow about nonetheless.

Hit tunes running up the charts are nothing to quibble at, for starters.

And now, Lambert boasts sold out live! concerts in Vegas at Mandalay Bay this weekend.

It appears that the sky is no imit for this rising star taking the show-biz arena by storm non-stop!

A movie in the offing?

News at 11!

Queen of the thong!

Legendary Pop Diva Cher - is celebrating the 21st Anniversary of her hit - "Turn back Time" - in a novel way.

In memory of the chart-topper (that turned her career around and thrust her back into the sizzling spotlight after a short lull) the unstoppable chanteuse is "turning back time" and offering up concert tickets at Caesar's in Las Vegas at 80's prices!

Such a deal, baby!

I expect a bevy of 'em will be snapped up before the blink of-an-eye.

See ya there!

Julian Ayrs...In Concert!

Thursday, I was trotting through Bart, when I spied a handful of musicians dotting the subterranenan undergound uttering up captivating riffs and a myriad of magical sounds that were pleasant to the ear.

I was envious!

In fact, I was inclined to dash back to my car and snatch up my organ!

Gosh, it also struck me that it was time to pursue my last creative goal in life, before I vanish into the ether!

For the past year, I have been composing a few classical pieces on the piano, in addition to a half-a-dozen-or-so exciting contemporary pieces (new age) that make the shivers rush up and down my spine whenever I toy with them on the organ (and synthesizer).

On many an occasion, on my recent jaunt to San Francisco, I have parked somewhere on a quiet street and proceeded to plunk myself down in the midst of nature for a musical interlude.

After an hour or two of composing (and playing) I really felt buzzed.

The sensation rushing through my veins?

Exhileration!

The music floats round inside of my head - kinda-like in the film - "Amadeus".

Occasionally, it appears that the Divine is moving my hands along the keyboard, whispering in head, and inspiring me!

Suddenly, when I woke up this morning, it hit me!

A concert is in the offing!

Both my father (violinsit) and my aunt (pianist) were professional musicians.

So, it is possible, the music gene may be flowing through my veins (and is my birthright).

Needless to say, it is the last dream I intend to accomplish in life!

To perform LIVE! in concert on piano (and electric organ) with an occasional vocal tossed in for good measure.

When?

Come fall or high water!

George Michael...the Los Angeles tour! Wham! Bang! Thank you ma'am...

George Michael cruises the loo...

One morning a radio station was chatting with a call-in listener who lucked out and won tickets for a George Michael concert.

"How long have you been a fan?" the high-energy disc jockey asked with infectious enthusiasm.

"Oh, since George was whamming."

Ha! That conjured up curious images - and memories - as well.

Like, how about, "Wham Bam, thank you Ma'am?"

Yes, I know, that was a lyric from a David Bowie song.

I was referring to his private life, if you get the gist of my meaning!

I laughed to myself when I recalled the incident a few years ago when Mr. Michael (an oddity of terms, isn't it?) got caught with his - um - pants down in a men's rest room across the street from the prestigious Beverly Hills Hotel.

I thought it was admirable that George fessed up - quick as a wink - without any long drawn-out excuses.

But, with a top-notch lawyer he could have gotten off - so to speak - in my estimation.

Think about it.

Allegedly, he was standing at the urinal stroking his Johnson - no, not "Don Johnson" - his co**, peck** - whatever.

Without warning (gosh - the unexpected surprise could have sent him off half-co**ed - don't 'ya think?) an undercover agent apparently strolled in and spied the pop star in the act of - er - exposing himself in a crude intimate manner.

Or, however you want to posture it.

But, there weren't any other witnesses to shake a stick at.

Essentially, it was George Michael's word against that of the undercover dick (there's something erotic - yet foreboding-sounding - about that term, isn't there?) who proceeded to frisk him (betcha he was turned on by that) and haul his tight little a** to the slammer.

If you recall, straight off, George pleaded no contest.

Like the Michael Jackson scenario, was it possible that there was something so distinctive about his pen**, that he was sure the copper could identify it in open court, if necessary?

Is that why he begged off?

Personally, I figure that a high-powered attorney with some street smarts under his belt, could have put forth a compelling argument that George wasn't actually "playing" with his organ at all (yeah, all the innuendos are hilarious in this scenario) but - rather - shaking it a tad to cast off a few last dew drops of pi** from the end of it.

Ladies, it's a guy thing!

Ah, maybe that's it.

He didn't want to air his dirty underwear - um - laundry in public!

Remember what Oscar Wilde once said,

"Scandal is gossip made tedious by morality"
