Pet Alert...crack the windows open! Desert heat deadly!

Folks were up-in-arms bright-and-early this morning when they spied a small terrier locked inside a SUV with all the windows closed tight as-a-drum!

Because the driver parked in the shade outside a retail outlet, I expect they imagined that there was no need to crack the windows a tad to ensure their lovable pup was able to breath safely inside while they were off doing errands.

Wrong!

Even out of direct sunlight, the interior of a vehicle may quickly soar to unbearable deadly temperatures.

Get smart, animal owners!

Otherise, concerned citizens may be petitioning to have those family pets turned over to individuals who are capable (and intelligent enough) to properly care for a pet.

Amen!

Castro...left bone in San Francisco! Pooper-scoopers & dog lovers...

Slain openly-gay politician Harvey Milk!

That was quite a dump!

Once you cruise into the Bay area, it becomes obvious that the locals are great dog lovers!

Everywhere you turn, a tail is wagging, and an owner's face is beaming.

So, of course, there are many pet shops in the Bay area that cater to a pet's nourishment and every playful whim.

In the Castro District, there is a delightful shop on the main strip, with an eye-catching window display.

Included in the mix of offerings are nifty T-shirts etched with hilarious slogans!

There are caps which bark out catchy phrases, too.

Of course, this the celebrated birth place of the "pooper-scooper".

Long-time residents may recall that when Harvey Milk was in political office in San Francisco, he  introduced the City measure to ensure that "Masters" cleaned-up after their lovable pouches!

In Frisco, it's a dog's life, alright.

Woof!

Perez Hilton butches up act at Abbey! Off booze?

Perez in halcyon glam days!

I popped into one of hang-outs last night for a some upbeat music and lively chatter when I spied Perez Hilton smack dab in front of me as I nosed my way through the romantic courtyard towards the bar.

The celebrity gossip-monger was outfitted in a army flap-jacket (fatiques) which suited his trimmed-down frame to a "T".

And, under the flattering sensual light, his short "do" (sandy-brown with subtle blond highlights?) appeared less spikey and wild, too.

Trying to butch up his act?

In one hand he was toting a water bottle.

Off the booze, Perez?

Was the tall pretty stud at his mercurial side just a best bud or new main squeeze, I wonder.

On one occasion when he glanced my way, I was mystified by a curious light in his eyes.

A mischievous gleam, perhaps?

I'll have to cruise over to his site and check out what Tinsel town's celebrated court jester is up to this week.

Along with 3 or 4 other million capricious scoundrels, I expect!

Bowser Beer...for dogs! Chug-a-lug, eh?

You plunk yourself down in front of the TV, crack open the piping-hot foil on a Hungry Man dinner, and take a swig of your favorite thirst-quenching brewski.

Suddenly, you feel guilty.

Ah, look at those sad puppy-dog eyes, staring up at you from beneath the table.

Not anymore, dude!

Bowser Beer has rustled up a beefy, non-alcoholic, non-carbonated beverage for man's best friend!

The dog-eared ale is a - fun, healthy, and unique alternative to water - that can be served with a dog treat, straight out of the bottle, or as a topping on dry food.

Now your pouch won't be stealing sly slicks off the bottle top, when you dash off to the "john" during commercial break, to take a whiz!

The lusty brew is made with human-grade ingredients - but get this - it's also low in calories and fat.

So, there won't be any unexpected trots down the walk in the middle of the night, if you know what I mean.

What exactly are the ingredients?

The tasty beer is made of 100% American beef broth and is cooked with real beef!

It also contains smidgens of Pure malt barley - just like in real beer - which will add much-needed lustre to a pet's shiny coat.

And, there's a magical touch of glucosamine, to promote joint health!

Bowser Beer comes in a six pack of twelve-ounce size bottles.

Skoal!
