OJ SIMPSON...cast of characters crawls out of workwork! Kato Kaelin comedy gig @ Orleans!

At the tail end of the Casey Anthony trial a cast of familiar characters crawled out of the woodwork.

For instance, once the verdict was in on the controversial case (which many have compared to the OJ Simpson trial of yesteryear) Marcia Clarke slipped into the "hot seat" to offer up her two-cents worth about the prosecution's failings (if any) and the verdict which stunned the Nation.

A curious "expert" to call on - in view of the fact she lost that case - don't 'ya think?

I just about fell out my comfy armchair at home by the old boob tube when Mark Furman (the witness who was accused of being a rogue cop out-to allegedly make a killing on his book) plunked down next to Geraldo Rivera to basically utter up nothing of consequence in the aftermath of the Casey Anthony fiasco.

And, lo and behold, Kato Kaelin (replete with well-trimmed "do") waltzed out into the spotlight, too!

Do 'ya remember that shaggy mop he used to sport on the witness stand?

Oh, he was so - cool - such a dude, dude.

At least his encore appearance this past week on a talk show - managed to settle some old scores - this time around.

For instance, one interview played back a videotape of one particular stint on the witness stand, in which Kato appeared to be less-than-forthcoming when he was being questioned by the prosecutor.

"Did you know that people thought you were being evasive," one news anchor probed.

"Were you?"

At this juncture, Kato explained that he spent several hours prepping for the witness stand, before the legal proceeding commenced.

"When Marcia Clarke started that line of questioning, it kinda threw me, because we hadn't discussed those issues," he uttered up in so many words.

Well, glad we got that one straightened out, at long last.

Now, I can sleep at night!

How about the scratching on the witness stand, though?

Did you have head lice, Kato?

By the way, Kaelin is headlining locally at the Orleans in a - say what? - a stand-up comedy routine!

Somehow, it's all a little too surreal for me, though.

Especially when he pops up in upbeat TV interviews and proceeds to offer up tickets to his show to his startled interviewers.

Is Kato just being a "nice guy" or trying to fill the house?

News at 11!

Geraldo Rivera...Casey Anthony quote of day!

A whole cast of loonie-tune characters (middle America is quite familiar with) crawled out of the woodwork this past week to toss in their expert two cents worth in respect to the controversial Casey Anthony shocker.

Uh-huh.

I spied the likes of Marcia Clark (with new "do" and fresh botox injections), Robert Shapiro (who took a break from shooting tacky television infomercials to pen his smoke-and-mirrors-style legal analysis for the Los Angeles Times), and - naturally - Geraldo Rivera (spewing his off-the-wall commentary as usual).

At one point - during a fluffy interview with a Network anchor last evening - Geraldo spat out the ridiculous (not uncommon for a fallen journalist who once treated us to a fascinating (!) gander at Al Capone's empty vault a scant few decades ago).

When quizzed about Casey Anthony's future, without-batting a tangled eye-lash (or twirling a strand or two of his bushy out-of-vogue moustache (and you thought Trump's rug was a disaster!) he quipped.

"They need to get her to a nunnery."

Say what?

Well, 'ya know I LOL.

By the way, Geraldo, I think the tired old expression actually goes something like this.

"Get thee to a nunnery!"

Sheesh!

Marcia Clark...plastic surgery?

Does this old frizzie-top look familiar?

Botox Babe emerges after racking in OJ Bucks!

Uh-huh!

As they say in Tinseltown, "she" must have had work done.

In the scenario above, the plastic surgeons must have filled in the cracks (which were forming a distinctive road map all the way to the bank) - with a heavy-duty cement mixer!

I'm referring to old frizzie top - former OJ prosecutor Marcia Clark - of course.

Where emotions once rippled freely across an honest open face, now a taut expressionless mask peers back eerily, by virtue of a pound or two of Botox.

In addition, a coiffed "do" (blow-dried to perfection) has sent her former skitzoid hairstyle - once rife with independent split ends (a-la Nichole Kidman) blowing in the wind this way 'n that at whim - packing.

Phony is, as phony does, so - the helmet will suffice!

Frankly, I thought that Clark was a little brainier than all that.

Not!

Christopher Darden's partner in botched criminal prosecution turned out to be just another bimbo babe out to sell her soul for big bucks on the night-time trash-talk-show circuit.

Check book journalism at its finest, you betcha!

Just ask Harvey Levin!
