The Thunder From Down Under...buffed male strippers excite!

I expect that if I utter up five little words - "The Thunder From Down Under" - the image of disgraced Congressman Anthony Weiner will spring to mind.

Naw!

Weiner's weener is overcooked news (the last time I scanned local & national news clips).

Of course, I am spouting off at-the-mouth about a posse of sexy stud muffins - tanned and ripped - who are causing quite a few hearts to go pitter-patter at the Excalibur nightly on the Vegas strip.

If you're into the hulking male physique, or a bit of sensual bumping-and-grinding up-close and personal, then you'll want to trot over to the cool air-conditioned theatre to catch their high-energy romp which was touted as the "Best Male Stripper Review" of 2009!

Uh-huh!

Just betcha, the erotic display of half-naked Spartans, rugged Cowboys, and ennobling Knights (in shining Armour), will be enough to take your breath away.

And, prompt a posse of fans of male burlesque to dash up to the stage ringside, with the express aim of stuffing a fistful of dollars down their sexy whitie-tighties (and copping a feel while they're at it?).

Whether it is a night out on-the-town with the girls, or a prowl in "Sin City" to scout for a date, you won't be disappointed.

See 'ya there!

Well, I have to report on these landmark events, now don't I?

Bristol Palin...dethroned on ABC TV's Dancing with Stars! Jennifer Grey snags prize!

Amid a sea of controversy - Bristol Palin slipped off her ruby red slippers and skulked away into the good night from whence she came - on Tuesday eve.

Her last hurrah?

In spite of the bold-faced deceitful efforts of a posse of Republican Tea Party upstarts to catapult Sarah Palin's daughter into the winning slot on "Dancing with the Stars" - pretty Jennifer Grey (Dirty Dancing) and Derek Hough (handsome professional dance cutie) - prevailed and snatched up the glittering disco ball!

The feat was not accomplished without a lot of sweat and tears, though.

In fact, in the final hours of the heady competition, Grey threw a disc in her spine after dancing her little heart out to a captive live! audience.

In recent weeks - fans of the hit show bit their nails nervously as they cursed the TV screen in disgust (one dude shot his screen out) - at what was shamelessly going down on the popular entertainment show.

Although more talented "dazzling" contestants scored high with the show's competent (professional) judges - for some inexplicable reason - the Alaskan tart (Palin) continued to score big-time with her sloppy dips and awkward two-steps with viewers around the country and at home.

By the time Levi's ex shot into the top slot, critics began to cry foul!

Were Sarah Palin's Republican Tea Party supporters in the political arena stuffing the ballot box at the ABC web site online???

At this juncture, a furor erupted in the blogosphere, and eleswhere!

Once the word was out, the viewing public fought back fervently to "right the wrong".

On Tuesday night, for example, a multitude of fans - anxious to vote for the best dancers (Grey & Hough) - overwhelmed the site with legitimate nods.

And, in the aftermath - after the ballots were tabulated - the deserving talented twosome were named top dogs on "Dancing with the Stars".

That just goes to show 'ya.

Hell hath no fury like an American viewing audience scorned!

Talk about a reality check, Sarah.

Later?

You betcha!

Dancing with Stars...Bristol Palin scandal! Fans irate over ballot-stuffing!

In recent weeks, in spite of less-than-stellar dance routines, Bristol Palin has managed to finesse her way to the top of the "Dancing with the Stars" hopeful heap much to the chagrin of  hateful detractors sharpening their daggers on the sidelines.

What accounts for this remarkable phenomenon?

Tea Party Republicans have allegedly hurt the integrity of the ballot-box at the ABC website - by casting excessive double (and maybe triple votes) on her behalf - according to angry viewers who are livid at the prospect of the tarted-up little tramp winning the coveted glitter ball.

Indeed!

On a couple of occasions when I tuned in to catch the top-rated glitzy entertainment bill-of-fare - I couldn't help but notice that the plump homely-looking contestant - with no star quality to speak of - was a mediocre dancer at best!.

Is dirty politics at the crux of it?

There outta be a law.

Patrick Swayze...succumbs to pancreatic cancer! Marriage of convenience?

Sadly, Patrick Swayze succumbed to pancreatic cancer yesterday at age 57.

For the past few months there was a swirl of gossip and innuendo surrounding Swayze on the heels of a tabloid feature that reported the charismatic star was on his  "death bed" and saying his last good-byes.

In fact, the scandalous heartless feature was the subject of much controversy.

I even jumped into the fray when I happened to turn on the TV one night and caught the tail end of a scurrilous report by Mary Hart on Entertainment tonight.

Frankly, I was so flabbergasted by her lack of sensitivity (and bad taste) that I penned a post on the issue.

Post:  03/12/09

http://ijulian.blogspot.com/2009/03/mary-hartpatrick-swayze-coverage-on.html

Shortly after that, Patrick Swayze sat down with Barbara Walters for an intimate one-on-one interview to set the record straight.

When asked point blank if  he was gettting his affairs in order and preparing for death, Swayze was quite adamant that he was not doing anything of the sort.

Then, he proceeded to lambaste the tabloid press.

In so many words, he labelled their reprehensible "ambulance-chasing" as little more than a ghoulish graveside vigil inflicting mental and emotional cruelty in its wake.

In particular, the star of blockbuster hits such as "Ghost" stressed how hurtful the insensitive conduct was to his immediate family and friends.

Swayze was first diagnosed with the pancreatic cancer in 2008 and from the offset tried to keep his illness under wraps - with the ultimate aim - of facing the life-threatening cancer privately and with a modicum of dignity.

The multi-talented star was a classically-trained dancer.

In spite of that, the talented actor with the infectious smile, managed to shake off  those shackles.

For example, when he burst onto the silver screen in "Dirty Dancing", he introduced a machismo to the realm of dance that no other triple-threat in the industry had managed to accomplish 'til then (or to this day).

The passionate horse-breeder was no slouch when it came to the work ethic, either.

By his own admission, Swayze was also inclined to take risks, too.

There was a lot of integrity lurking behind those engaging dimples!

Although he was offered approximately $7 million bucks to appear in a sequel to "Dirty Dancing", he graciously passed.

Instead, he gussied himself up and sashayed across the screen in full drag in the off-beat comedy:

"To Wong Foo, thanks for Everything! Julie Newmar"

Personally, I found Patrick's portrayal of a "Queen" more entertaining (and believable) that Travolta's offering in "Hairspray".

Understandably, after the film opened, tongues started to wag.

Was Patrick gay - or at least - bisexual?

If so, it was doubtful - for career reasons - that he would ever have "outed" himself.

After all, during the filmmaking era Swayze broke into the Hollywood scene, producers tended to shy away from casting "gay" men when it came to "macho" leading-man roles.

A few years ago, I met a pretty young male actor who claimed to have "dirty danced" with Patrick between the sheets.

Rumors also floated around Hollywood that both he - and his lovely wife - were "gay" and that theirs was a marriage of convenience.

Albeit, one based on a great deal of honesty, mutual respect, and friendship.

It just may have been one of the best-kept secrets in Tinsel Town, eh?

Patrick Swayze...tabloid gossip on illness cruel and insensitive!

I was standing in line at a check-out counter at the supermarket a couple of weeks ago when I spied a screaming headline on the cover of a tabloid magazine.

Patrick Swayze dying!"

I recall recoiling in horror.

How cruel and insensitive!

The same thought crossed the talented actor's mind, too.

Although Mr. Swayze was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, he has been valiantly fighting the disease. In fact, he is responding to treatment, and winning the battle.

Still stinging from the hurt, Mr. Swayze angrily noted to the legitimate press:

"They're reporting that I'm on my last legs and saying good-bye to my tearful family. It's upsetting that the shoddy and reckless reporting from these publications cast a negative shadow on the positive and good fight I'm fighting."

At a time when "hope is precious", he can only shake his head in disbelief.

I wholeheartedly agree.

Prying into - and reporting on - highly confidential medical records without the knowledge or permission of an individual - is a shocking and disturbing trend in a "no-holds-barred" kind of gossip-mongering which must be condemned - and ultimately - stopped in its tracks.

If the shoe were on the other foot, I hazzard a guess that the insensitive intruders might be angry, too.

George Eliot once said:

Cruelty, like every other vice, requires no motive outside of itself; it only requires opportunity."
