Turns out that Justin Bieber is not only a cutie oozing with good looks and talent, but a quick wit, too!

Who knew?

When asked by a gushing Entertainment Tonight reporter if he would ever shave his head for a part in a flick he could sink his teeth into, he was pretty fast on the uptake.

"Sure.  Hair will grow back," he grinned. 

No doubt, like Elvis before him, the locks would sell for a pretty song.

Gold-digging gals (and guys) may be unhappy to hear - though - that striking up a hot-and-heavy affair with the young Pop Star may be a daunting task to wangle.

Why, pray tell?

The "Bieb" confessed that his handlers (and family and friends) are keen on protecting the talented heartthrob from unwanted advances and potentially negative influences that may prove to be disruptive as the young musician continues his rise into the pop stratosphere.

Undoubtedly, his stock will soar higher next week, once his much-anticipated film - Never Say Never - premieres on February 11th (2011).

Though Bieber swears up-and-down that there is no one special in his love life just now, he intends to saunter out on Valentine's Day, nonetheless.

In search of true love?

"I may surprise fans by showing up at a movie theatre," he chuckled, with a mischievous glint in his eyes.

Just betcha, the kid is hot-to-trot.

Thank God for yummy distractions as ominous clouds hang over the horizon on distant foreign shores - which remain troubling to Americans - none-the-less.

By the way, Justin is featured on a Super Bowl commercial this Sunday.

It may be one of those rare occasions when folks around the Nation actually wait for the commercial breaks instead of running off to the bathroom to the water closet (English term, dudes!) to relieve themselves.

Super Bowl...Christina Aguilera to perform! Cold snap par-tay blues!

A cold snap that hit the Dallas area this past week with a vengeance has dampened the spirits of some football fans.

Last night barkeeps and staff at trendy watering holes stood idle and bemoaned the fact that there were quite a few "no-shows" on the pub-crawl circuit which resulted in a big slump in sales on the eve of the big game.

But, despite Mother Nature's awesome fickle finger of fate, it will be business as usual under the big top on Sunday afternoon when the much-anticpated sports event gets underway.

Christina Aguilera will hit the stage to warble the National Anthem in true show-biz tradition to a packed house at the commencement of the festivities.

After all, the show must go on, eh?

In addition to Aguilera, there will be a live performance by Black Eyed Peas at half-time.

Super Bowl XLV pits the Pittsburgh Steelers against the Green Bay Packers - two rough-and-tumble capable teams - out to best each other in a match that is sure to be unforgettable.

However, bookies appear to favor the Packers by 2½.

According to inside sources, the price-tag for a 30-second commercial is a whopping $2.8 - $3 million.

Super Bowl XLV will be the 45th annual edition of the Super Bowl in American football and the 41st annual championship game of the modern-era National Football League (NFL).

On Sunday afternoon - power willing - millions of Americans are expected to tune in from around the country and rustle up a staggering ratings bonanza.

David Letterman...Drew Brees Super Bowl champion guests tonight! Sports illustrated swimsuit edition...

Tonight, Drew Brees, appears as a guest on Dave Letterman fresh off of the gridiron from his glorious victory at the Super Bowl yesterday @ the Sun Life Stadium in Miami Gardens (Florida)

The agile athlete - with movie star looks - will take a comfy seat next to Oscar-nominated Sandra Bullock (The Blind Side) who will also be appearing on the heels of her Oscar nomination.

Although Brees will undoubtedly be the big attention-getter for the most part, a posse of hot-blooded studs will obviously channel surf over to CBS tonight to catch the unveiling of the latest Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition.

Hot nightime bill of fare, Dave!

I expect the ratings will go through the roof and the competition will be licking their wounds at the crack of dawn tomorrow morning..

Super Bowl...Roger Daltrey long in tooth in acid flashback halftime show!

For a moment, I thought I was having an acid flashback, as I sat glued to the TV watching  the Super Bowl halftime show, while Saint fans from  exotic environs such as the French Quarter in New Orleans partied and cheered their team on.

All the elements were there - a dazzling light show, the frenetic beat of rock 'n roll hits from yesteryear, and a gyrating lead singer for a legendary band by the name of - "The Who" - strutting his stuff around the stage as enthusiastic football fans ecstatically gazed on from the bleachers and inside chi chi private suites some paid a staggering $95,000.00 a pop for in order to par-tay in style and catch football history up close front-and-center.

What, the Who?

You betcha!

After thirty years or so on the road, one of the world's greatest rock bands, is still throbbing to the beat strong.

Well - at least that was the case with Pete Townsend and his fancy guitar-playing - that continues to wow the madding crowd.

The tricky hard-hitting drum rolls weren't half-bad either.

But, Daltrey - forgive me, Dudes - was (to put it politely) a bit long in the tooth.

I was inclined to call up security and make sure there was an ambulance at the ready - in the event the aging curly-haired Lothario - collapsed from too much frenzied excitement on stage.

Definitely past his prime, I trust this will be Daltery's farewell performance, so he can go out with a bang (and not a whimper).

In a post penned a couple of days ago, I reported that pollsters ranked Bruce Springsteen as their all-time favorite half-time Super Bowl show-stopper (with the Stones lagging ten thousand votes behind).

After what I witnessed tonight on the old boob tube, it is doubtful that the "Who" will ever make top ten in future polls on account of a lackluster over-the-hill stage presence that signaled Daltrey is clearly at the end of his once-glorious mesmerizing stage career.

To all things, there is a season, after all.

Halftime Super Bowl performances have become legendary musical events over the years.

So, of course, pollsters at the Los Angeles Times were inclined to pose a question to their readers.

"Who had the best Super Bowl halftime show?"

Within days, there was a frenzied response from fans, keen to lodge their favorites.

The winner hands down?

Why, Bruce Springsteen, naturally!

After all, his hit - Born in the USA - is right up there with football as a prominent symbol of American Culture.

When the numbers were tackled Springsteen boasted a 10,000 vote lead in popularity, and thus, managed to squeak by Jagger and the other long-haired English blokes in his musical circle with ease.

U2's crescendo amounted to a palty 114 decibels - er - votes.

In the same scientific poll (!) 59 percent have speculated that the tough Saints will nab the prize.

The Colts are predicted to score big with 47 percent of the votes in their favor.

I am always glued to the old  boob tube praying  for a wardrobe snafu to brazenly unveil some nubile flesh!

Brett Favre shocks fans & NFL. Retires from football...again!

When I flipped on ESPN for all-the-world it appeared there was an obituary underway!

Clips of a professional athlete's illustrious 18-year career on the gridiron, a run of impressive stats sure to make any young all-star football wanna-bee cream his jockstrap, and a few teary-eyed moments when pent-up emotions were inclined to slip to the surface unexpectedly and speak volumes about the man.

Of course, all the airwaves were awash with the news, too.

Brett Favre plucked up his cell bright and early this morning and informed the managers and owners of the Jets that he was quitting football - again!

The news media breathed a sigh of relief!

Maybe the mercurial Favre finally meant it?

"He's fooled us so many times," one reporter chortled.

But, many are tittering that this is surely the end to a brilliant stretch on the field, at long last.

Of course, there is the issue of Favre's age.

Off-season, a player needs time to recover from injuries.

With the older dudes, well, the process takes longer.

Has Favre been struggling to meet the challenge?

Maybe that's where performance-enhancing drugs come into play for a handful of desperate athletes?

"For an older football-player, it's tough," one commentator opined.

After all, football - sports enthusiasts lament - is a year-round game.

Yeah, the players may have a few weeks off, but they're back on the field shortly thereafter interacting with their team-mates, getting all-primed-up and ready to charge forward in the upcoming season.

"It's all about timing and chemistry. If the quarterback isn't going to show off-season for the practices, it's bad for the morale of the team."

Some speculated that coaches, managers, and team owners weren't going to afford major players such luxuries in the future.

As to Favre's retirement, does the pro stud mean it this time?

Insiders speculate that this is definitely the closing chapter of an exciting football career - fraught with highs and lows - but one that assures Favre a memorable place in the prestigious annals of Football History.
