Aaron Rodgers...Quarterback's insightful interview on Letterman! Fans wowed!

Hunky Rodgers scores big at the Superbowl!

That was quite an interview with Aaron Rodgers last night on Letterman.

When the strapping quarterback stepped out from behind the curtain there was deafening thunderous applause from ecstatic fans on-hand in the bleachers.

Dave thanked the Packer's MVP (Most Valuable Player) for stopping by - at which point - the handsome athlete sheepishly fessed up that he often watched the Late Show.

After a bit of gushing (unusual for the toothy talk-show host) Letterman dove in and struck up a pretty insightful dialogue with the gridiron hero.

After noting Rodger's humble beginnings (he was attending a community college when he caught the eye of a talent scout) Dave put a probing question to the seasoned pro about his physique (after he confided he was a spindly 6' 2 player - weighing in at 190 lbs. - once overlooked by the big leagues).

How much are you packing now," Dave quizzed.

Rodgers hesitated - a bit embarrassed about the focus on all the pointed body-talk? - then blurted out proudly that he now weighed in at 230 lbs of beefy muscle.

A roar of approval rippled beyond the footlights at the Ed Sullivan Theatre.

Actually, when it came to tooting his horn, the handsome athlete was a bit slow on-the-uptake.

I expect that it's because he's a seasoned pro with a down-to-earth attitude.

According to Rodgers, it was confidence - and not ego - that fueled the ball-player's drive on to victory and the Super Bowl Championship this past Sunday in Texas.

"Yeah, the adrenalin was high at first. Then, I settled in, and it was just a regular game," Rodgers shrugged in so many words.

At this juncture - Letterman whipped out the dazzling belt Rodgers earned at the action-packed game for his prowess at the stadium - one which proved to be a ratings bonanza for the network (11 million viewers tuned in).

As Rodger's started to reach for the spinning centrepiece, Letterman teased him a tad.

"You like playing with that thing, don't 'ya?"

A broad smile crossed Rodger's face.

Oh boy, what a cutie!

"Yes. Fans like this stuff. You've got to give 'em what they want."

In addition to the belt, the accolades, and new product endorsements (did you catch him promoting Disneyland this morning on Channel 4?) the hunky stud also nabbed a spanking new red Camaro for his agile efforts on the field.

I expect he'll be appearing on the cover of PEOPLE, TIME - and, who knows - maybe even Details or GQ?

Can Calvin Klein or Giorgio Armani be far behind?

News at 11!

Julian Ayrs 3rd Annual 10 Worst-Dressed / Best-Dressed Men (2010)...Tom Brady, Adrien Brody, Justin Timberlake, et al!

A nod to Mr. Blackwell!

Style, it's that - not the clothes - that make the man or woman!

When a fashionista strolls into a high-profile soiree - it's important that the casual observer give the nod when a stylish mission has been accomplished.

There's nothing worse than a man-about-town - or a stylish gal, either - appearing in public like they've just been shoddily-tossed together.

Here is a sampling of folks in the limelight who pulled off the tricky task admirably - and a handful of fashion ruffians - who missed the mark by a country-mile!

TEN WORST-DRESSED MEN
(2010)

Tiger Woods

Though his iron reputation has stirred up a lot of frenzied attention behind-closed-doors - on the green - Tiger's beige image has left a lot to be desired in fashion circles.

 Indeed!

The publicity still of Woods featured above underscores that he's inclined to lean towards an image that's all pimp (with no primp).

No wonder the fallen golf pro seeks out sex workers (a preferred tag used to describe prostitutes and cash-on-the-barrel highly-paid escorts in Canada and elsewhere) for intimate after-hours company.

Tiger's taste runs the gamut - from boring golf "T's" and Mommy dress slacks - to khaki's and blood red Polo shirts.

Consequently, the athlete has failed to cut any distinctive swath worthy of singling out.

In a nutshell - the fallen Sports hero is in dire need of a jolt of designer juice - if he hankers for a fashion comeback.

Russell Brand

A male rag doll - flitting about in a riot of fashion get-ups - who can't help but trigger a flurry of stylish scorn around the country.
Brand's old "College Try" gamble amounts to fashion oblivion.

In fact - a ghastly array of off-beat fabrics, wild musings, and truckload of unsightly wrinkles and folds - cry out (rightly so) that the tired old celeb has become stylishly unhinged.

Gene Simmons

Though I admire the aging Rocker's longevity - and his impeccable taste in sexy sirens (like tweet pal Shannon Tweed) - unfortunately the almighty kiss-of-Death has a broken-down image when it comes to being a suave man-about-town.

In fact - the infamous front man for KISS (a dinosaur band from a bygone Ice Age) - tends to strut down easy street in a handful of off-the-wall ensembles that are simple and straight-forward in their lament:

"Stale!  Old hat!"

Bold attempts to spark up his "look" with a wink and a bling have fallen flat after-the-fact.

Go figure!

In goofy outfits - like those featured above - the throaty crooner ends up generating more shits and giggles than anything else worth tittering about in recent days.

Poor Shannon!

What we have here is a failure to communicate any semblance of mojo or even one sparkling fashion gene.

Hire a style Guru, Mr. Simmons!

David Hasselhoff

Judging by the way the "HOFF" wears his heart on his sleeve - the former soap stud is obviously inclined to get in touch with his feminine side - now-and-then.

As Justin Bieber might quip:

"Oh! Baby Baby Baby!"

Although adorned in diamonds and silk (and on occasion sparked up with a dollop of sexy lace trim) Hasselhoff only succeeds in sadly turning up "Hoffy" - or in the snarly alternative - plain puffy.

Boo Hoo!

Darling, it's time to fight off the inner demons.

David - handsome is as handsome does - after all.

Al Pacino

A scraggly little bird squawks out loudly.

"Heh!  Me a style setter?"

When Pacino trots down the red carpet - he does so - without an ounce of zest or originality.

Imagine that - a die-hard New Yorker - without a clue about how to stylishly feather his cap!

In fact, the celebrated actor has just one fashion reality, and it's a snap to fathom.

In sum, the Godfather's favorite son has a style gauge so out-of-whack, that it baffles the sensibilities.

Johnny Depp

A swirl of eccentric fashion ensembles - swimmingly underscore - that the 21 Jump Street escapee has yet to mature into a man-about-town worthy of the title.
Depp is an aimless tornado of - wild whims, strident missteps, and stylish taboos - who (not surprisingly) has been relegated to the realms of aging Lotharios in recent days.

A mere tourist, in fact, in plaid!

Johnny Boy - those self-indulgent scarfs that strangle (and jaunty hats that wobble) - should be given the old heave-ho.

Or, right to the gang-plank thee go, Mate!

Brad Pitt

Though singled out as "best-dressed" in the heady past - Pitt's collection of designer threads have been packed away in the closet of late - where they brim with dusty memories (unfortunately for his steady squeeze, Ms. Jolie).

Age may be a factor, Mr. Pitt.

On a recent outdoors splash - Pitt's "look" (knee-high kick-ass boots and leather pants) - cried out: "too" frisky.

For a fortyish male to sport in polite society, for starters!

In fact, the phrase "rough trade" sprang to mind when I caught sight of Angelina's better-half  amidst a blaze of blinding flash bulbs and straining paparazzi.

Chaz Bono

A surgeon's precise knife is not always capable of transforming a hefty female into a virile man-shape - replete with movable parts - in a bold-faced effort to effect a mucho-macho image.

Sadly - Cher's offspring Chaz (aka Chastity) - has underscored the undeniable fact splendidly.

On Bono - lesbian-style suits, a Supreme Court Justice's conservative blousey-style shirts, and sensible shoes - hammer home the point with certainty.

A quick gander at Mr. Bono - and his current lover - dredge up the obvious and the curious.

Cher's darling son is obviously a femme butch with an definite leaning towards a demented Mother fixation.

Surely - the fact that Chaz's girlfriend looks a lot like the Cher - hasn't escaped my reader's observations!

Who knew?

Prince Van AnHalt

Riding Boots and new-fangled off-the-wall takes on leather suspenders (Larry King eat your wife out) scream out B-list fashion alien.

Tweeds, bulky sweaters - even plain-Jane baseball caps fashioned in bulls-eye red - single out the fact without question or doubt.

Zsa Zsa should get wise for a number of reasons, if not just for the sake of appearance.

Invest in a Chauffeur's monkey suit, darlink!

Then, the old Royal (?) could double as both driver and Male escort.

Billy Bob Thornton

Screw-ball fashion quirks extend way beyond the make-shift layers - and resonate in confusion - when die-hard fans and film buffs alike catch a glimpse of Billy bonkers in fashion action.

If there is one endearing personality flaw - well - what is it?

Billy is a clothes-horse eccentric with no taste, for starters!

Regis Philbin

An aging show-biz trooper who got "old".

Rege?

The seasoned (salt & pepper clown) is stuffy and fussy and - just betcha - probably smells of hand-soap when encountered in the round or in the mensroom .

And, there's plenty in the round underneath there, to be sure .

Star Jones must have gifted the whirling dervish - with a bargain-basement packet of "Old Spice" toiletries for X-mas - don't 'ya think?

In view of his salty demeanour?

Splash it on lightly, Philly baby!

Larry King

A hodge-podge of unfashionable wardrobe silhouettes - where wide & dreary starched suspenders on vivid solid-based backgrounds - scream out for the Fashion Police pronto!

No wonder the persistent gent (from a golden heyday) got the hook from picky CNN Network Brass.

The men in suits at the studio probably uttered up sound advice when the pink slip was issued too.

"Larry!  You've got a great face for radio!"

Ten Best-Dressed Men
(2010)

Mark Steinnes

Mark sports sharp stylish suits, correctly-knotted silk ties, and flaunts nifty flourishes to spark up his distinctive "look".

His casual attire tends to be fresh, breathes with zesty enthusiasm, and bolsters a trim muscular physique.

The Entertainment Tonight front man is a fierce contender - therefore - for top dog broadcaster on a Nightly Entertainment magazine show.

Because of a flair for the sensual that attracts women - one is inclined to wonder aloud - is the manly cutie gay perchance?

Johnny Mathis

A mature man (70's) who continues to dazzle his fans on stage and off.

In fact, Johnny exudes confident chic in well-coordinated ensembles (elegant sweaters, understated dress slacks, cool top-of-the-line windbreakers) that resonate with timeless appeal without fail.

At the local market - Mr. Mathis squeezes the fruit and vegetables for freshness - along with the likes of moi and down-to-earth neighbours.

Uh-huh.

No man is an island!

Justin Timberlake

A fop and fashionable celebrity - comfortable in his role as an influential clothes-horse - for starters.

By the way - jaunty hats, eye-catching vests, and trend-setting mainstays are coordinated expertly - too.

Each stylish step forward is about to culminate - and ultimately - open the door to a signature collection of designers clothes.

A little bird told me!

Usher

For a Pop Icon, Usher is surprisingly on top when it comes to controlled fashion clashing.

Layered looks are especially flattering on his trim lean frame.

In fact, Usher boasts a stylish versatility most dudes would be wise to warm up to at home - or abroad - wherever.

Denzil Washington

Comfortable in - leather, jeans, and sweaters that all hug the bod snugly - Denzil is obviously the envy of less-fortunate fellows.

When the occasion calls for it, he'll don a pricey suit, with accessories that spark up the look.

Never over-the-top - he's an actor's actor - with a keen sense of style worth adopting.

Ryan Seacrest

Ryan has a flip outgoing personality - typical of those on the DJ circuit - with an extra dash of fashion savvy to boot (classy).

Though wise to the all-important image - and and ever-mindful of appropriate etiquette in career environs  - Seacrest is also capable of letting-loose after-hours in appealing with-it wardrobe choices that compliment his still-youthful spot-lighted persona.

No fashion disaster lurking in the wings to topple this fella!

Justin Bieber

Though just a teen - always-confident "Bieb" struts into the limelight - with a lot of flair and noticeable fanfare.

Why not?

The kid's got the world by the ba**s!

An eclectic mix of - Hollywood glitter, street-wise fashion smarts, and red-carpet musings - have catapulted the talented young heart-throb into the dizzying realms of fashion darling status.

Striking a provocative pose - while strumming a guitar - didn't hinder the lad's ability to launch his sizzling hot career into the stratosphere either.

Chic jackets in buttery-smooth leather - teamed with eye-catching tee's etched in sensual free-flowing patterns and sturdy quality shoes - are his signature style.

But, in recent days, stylish adventures have signalled the lad may be a fashionista to reckon with.

Heh, take Abercrombie & Fitch notes, Jonas brothers!

Jimmy Fallon

Boyishly dapper!

A flirtatious host - instinctively keen about drawing an all-important invisible line between a man and his castle - and the boys in the band.

In addition, Fallon continually demonstrates a knack for mixing-and-matching - especially when it comes to tricky monochromatic hues that render a posse of ambitious dudes SOL at the finish line.

A Court Jester of sorts - who not only knows which side of the bread to butter - but the cost of jam in the scheme of things.

So, the perky talk-show host smartly spiffs up, when on-camera.

A leader of the well-heeled pack - sure to reach loftier social climbs - and ultimately realize the good life!

Tom Brady

Having a super model on his pumped-up arm hasn't hurt Brady's image or crimped his style - that's for sure!

And - any tips on fashion offered up - have obviously not fallen on deaf ears.

Although the handsome grid-iron celeb has wandered - from season-to-season - he's managed to avoid fumbling the ball or becoming a spectacle in the coveted limelight.

The popular quarterback is at home in designer jeans (he fills 'em out well), chic leather jackets, and casual T's.

But, is also a style maestro to reckon with, at any social event or red-carpet event.

Tailored dress shirts, elegant ties, and delightful manly accents - bootstrap Tom up - with fashionable ease.

Adrien Brody

When it comes to style the Oscar-winning actor has it in spades.

High-end casuals in rich colors and exotic fabrics - crafted by designers of note in the U.S. and Europe - are a shoe-in for Brody who has become known as a clothes-horse.

If only the backers of his films would pay up so he can afford to play the fashion game!

Special Category

Best Un-Dressed Man

Jake Gyllenhaal

Taylor Lautner - while buffed and a sexy toy-boy cut-out - didn't land a nod for the special Best-Dressed Un-Dressed category.

Nor could Ryan Gosling - though a pretty male cutie (a trifle skinny in some departments) - who didn't bother to throw any caution to a producer's wicked on-camera whims.

Jake Gyllenhaal - without much sweat - nabbed the title of the "Best Dressed ' Un-Dressed" due to his seductive surly presence in not one - but two - revealing celluloid offerings:

"Love & Other Drugs" & the "Prince of Persia".

As the Elvis lyric goes:

"A hunka-hunka burning love!"

I'd cast the stud as - houseboy, gigolo, or International jet-set playboy - at the drop of a jockstrap!

Calvin Klein...chic menswear boutique in San Francisco!

Great look for fashion savvy males!

If you have a wad of expendable cash - or a spanking new credit card to break in - hustle into the Calvin Klein menswear boutique on Market Street.

It will be difficult to scurry by Abercrombie & Fitch - ‘fer sure - but if you’re a dude out to cut a fine swath on romantic nights out in pulsating San Francisco (or elsewhere) - Klein is a more fashionable option.

Who wants to be a carbon-copy of every other boring dude bar-hopping ‘round town?
Personally, I was drawn in by the window-dressing.

The staff draped the fall line to ‘flatter” the male physique (maximize the appeal of the fashion statement) - unlike a bevy of other shops - where dim-witted PR staff tended to toss the garments on the cold hard shell of manikins in the display window without any focus on effecting a look that has the capacity - or a hope in hell - of ringing up sales.

You have to be an absolute worm - without one iota of fashion sense - to transform a chic outfit out of the crate into a $500.00 wardrobe ensemble that is all wrinkles - and tacky-looking to boot - when the casual window-shopper happens by.

I admit, judicious pinning - and a bit of sly shaping - can lure naive folks in the door.

But, when it gets right down to it, you have to have the “goods” to start with.

Klein has that in spades.

This fall the collection is wide and varied - and features a couple of wise “steals” (extracted surreptiously from fresh rising fashion stars)  incorporated into the mix - to punch up the basics.

For instance, pricey t-shirts featuring rich splashy motifs (sometimes in monochromatic tones) etched on their shoulders and backs, add dash to a silhouette that tends to be dark this fall.

Actually, Klein’s slacks, sport jackets, elegant dress shirts, and slim suits - rely on shades of black and grey for solid support.

So, a flashy design idea on one wardrobe item - an accessory streaked in gold, embossed eye-catching flourish, or contrasting jolt of fabric (even a controlled clashing of color) - allows the ballsy guy in the room to go peacock to the envy of all his pals.

In addition to well-tailored classy-looking suits in an affordable price range (for working dudes anyway) there is a lot to rumble around in on furlough days.

Klein’s outer-jackets are stand-outs - as is the selection of ubiquitous jeans - to team ‘em with.

Curiously, the most colorful of the apparel choices - the ever-sensual CK underwear - is hidden from view until an intimate moment or impromptu trek to the gym ferets them out during off-hours.

Klein, who still maintains control of the underwear arm of the Empire (he sold out the main designer line for mega-bucks years ago to a major menswear manufacturer if I recall correctly) has understandably drawn on his racy - sexy side - to exploit (and ultimately boost sales of) a collection of sexy skin-tight skivvies (normally restricted to the realm of out gay fashion designers on the fringes of the mainstream) that add sizzle to the muscled (or pasty-white nerd's) bod.

I expect that frayed, urine-stained boxers - with a tear or two lurking at a seam - will end up in the trash bin now that Klein’s body-fitting underwear has made an entrance on the scene 24/7.

Though a little too safe and predictable for some, overall the edgy designer wisely chose to pamper to in-shape fashion-conscious guys keen on details.

The look should fair well in large American cities, and with Anderson Cooper, for starters.

For the dude who likes to stand out, or implant his own style, there is always McQueen to dive into if the old wallet can stand the financial assault.

But, fashion smart dudes don’t have to splurge or go broke for trendy threads.

In discount houses today, I scooped up two t-shirts and a pair of spiffy shorts for under a double-sawbuck after some prudent attention to the bottom line.

A $4.00 purchase is already turning heads.

Could I ask for anything more?

Street chic at affordable prices - that singles out a stud in the dismal crowd - is the way to go.

Just skim those high-end fashion magazines (GQ & Details) for some tips on style!

Double-breasted jackets make smart entrance!

Kellan Lutz...hearts flutter on Ellen! Cast in role of Poseidon!

Hearts were all aflutter on Ellen this week when Calvin Klein underwear model - Kellan Lutz - trotted out from behind the curtain.

The pulses started racing when Lutz - slated to burst out on the wide screen on June 30th in the Twilight sequel (Eclipse) - sauntered into the studio audience to get up-close-and-personal - after a brief chat on the couch with Ellen.

No bump & grind, though.

The pretty boy's physique has proven to be quite an asset of late.

Lutz's handlers just announced, for instance, that their client has been signed to take on the mantle of  "Poseidon" in a big-budget feature (War of the Gods) starring Mickey Rourke, Henry Cavill, and Freida Pinto.

Mythical or muscular role playing?

Since the project is being billed as a "new action film" it causes one to wonder!

Meanwhile, in the modern day (in a certain part of town), movie-goers can only surmise what ominous events are bound to unfold when "Nightmare on Elm Street" - starring Lutz - splashes (slashes?) across the silver screen April 30th!

Understandably, the rising star has become a triple threat of high order in Hollywood show-biz circles.

Vampire cum God slash hacker!

With a bit of box-office luck, and expert nurturing from his theatrical agent, Lutz may be able to close the door on the cheezy underwear ads in the near future.

Did I hear a sigh of disappointment?

Male erotica!

But, can he act?

Swimsuits (Spring 2010)...sizzlin' hot threads for coolin' down at the beach!

The mercury is rising in the downtown streets of Frisco as residents - and tourists alike - trot off to a spa or Hotel pool (or one of the pristine beaches nearby) to cool down and catch a few rays.

But, the discerning social butterfly, is not about to don last year's water-logged worn-out "look".

Especially, in view of the fact designer swimwear on the market right now, is apt to set a true trendsetter apart from the tawdry struggling masses.

Besides, a sexy come-hither look isn't going to cut it on its lonesome, honey!

There are a myriad of scintillating offerings for the ladies - one pieces, bikini-style stunners, stringie-thingies that take the breath away - you name it.

But, the big emphasis is on splashy eye-catching colors boosted  up with bright bold-faced designs etched beautifully on fabrics that sheath, hug, flaunt - well - you get the idea.

Men will be in-the-face, too, and not just kicking up sand, baby!

Confident strident macho guys will be slipping into speedo-style trunks that show-off the package.

Or, lounging about in surfer-style boxers that double as wave-catchers or sporty shorts that emphasize a dude's signature style (on the beach and off).

The suits pictured  here - courtesy of Calvin Klein, Giorgio Armani, & Aussiebau - are sure to make a big splash as summer turns the corner into full glory a few weeks from now.

Surfs up!

"A Single Man"...Ford's tribute to Calvin Klein homoerotica! Style & no substance...

Julianne Moore's lazy acting asssignment!

A filmgoer has only to spy the producer credit for "A Single Man" to fathom how this arty film - so full of promise - ended up such a slip-shod mess from a critical point of view.

Tom Ford, after all, is a celebrated fashion designer that normally gives sheer beauty form.

Unfortunately, the slick feature - starring Colin Firth - is all style and no substance.

At times, it appears to be an overly-long sensual foray into male homoerotica, with all the arousing qualities of a Calvin Klein commercial

Mr. Ford has intriquing creative ideas, but without a film background to build on, they end up afloat on a sea of uncertainty.

I surmise that Ford is a big fan of foreign film directors such as Fellini & Antonioni.

Indeed, in the final analysis - "A Single Man" - ended up a potpourri of film aesthetics thrown together on the heels of being snatched and grabbed from here and there.

But, without any formal training or movie-making sensibilities to draw on, the Weinstein boutique entry doesn't manage to gel into any cohesive message that  resonates even a smidgen.

Although the dialogue between characters tries desperately to be profound - even thought-provoking at times - the truth of the matter is this.

Folks just don't talk like that in daily conversations in real life.

In the mouths of these babes, words are spoken for effect, not because the character actually believes what they are nattering about.

I'd prefer that a subject in a film speak from the heart (or not, if the characterization requires it) rather than have them talk "at" me to get the screenwriter's point across by banging me over the head with it in an unimaginative pedestrian way.

It would be unfair of me to label - "A Single Man" - a total disaster, though, because it has its precious touching moments.

Colin Firth is remarkable in a nuanced performance; a young actor in the role of a coming-of-age student is outstanding in a tough role, too.

But, Ford's sexual fantasies often distract and take away from what he's trying to accomplish.

For example, two characters artfully-positioned on the beach in one scene, evoke a sensual mood worthy of an ad for Men's cologne, rather than what was ultimately intended (an intimate moment between two lovers).

In one hilarous scene - as Firth's character drives off in his Mercedes - the camera catches the object of his curiosity on a bike with butt prominently turned toward the lens of the  camera.

Obviously, Ford is an "ass" man turned on by young dudes on fast bikes in tight jeans.

One plot line is so preposterous that it stretches one's credulity to think for one moment that the scenario could have actually ever gone down.

For example, when a student flirts with the Professor on campus, Firth's character doesn't even recoil or caution the lad about the propriety of a teacher engaging in such conduct in front of other students or faculty.

The question isn't even raised.

In  today's more lax hang-out society the moment might not raise an eyebrow.

But in the sixties, well, I don't think so.

In a nutshell, the failure of Ford to recognize this, underscores just how sloppy (undisciplined) or downright stupid he is for failing to research the subject matter more thoroughly.

The respected fashion icon probably believes in the tooth fairy, too.

Calvin Klein inspiration!

Magic...Menswear Marketplace in Vegas! August 31st/September 2nd...

Thousands of buyers will be swooping in to Sin City to catch Magic's latest fashion extravaganza at the Las Vegas Convention Center.

Menswear at Magic has a solid reputation for unveiling the most far-reaching assortment of menswear in the marketplace annually (and this year won't be an exception).

For those of your in the dark about such matters - poor darlings- Magic is where new trends often surface and eventually end up as cool designer threads on the backs of consumers around the country.

The goal of the high-profile rag meet is to connect and inspire the fashion community, fuse diverse trends, and deliver unbeatable service to customers, according to show organizers.

This year, the eclectic offerings have been broken into categories which best-reflect current bell weather trends in the burgeoning menswear market.

For example - S.L.A.T.E. is a juried assortment of sophisticated brands that originated in skate, surf, and street communities - steadily making their way into the mainstream.

In essence, S.L.A.T.E. zeroes in on (and exalts) the attitude of hipsters, artists, and musicians.

The "Street" look, meanwhile, puts the dazzling spotlight on menswear from the contemporary sportswear vein, hip-hop lifestyle, action-sports arena, and emerging mixed martial arts scene.

A concern about the environment in recent years has also triggered a flurry of activity in the fast-growing area of "green fashion".

It was only a matter of time, really!

The ECOLLECTION at Magic is distinguished by the fact that all of the offerings in the collection are environmentally and socially-conscious pieces of apparel.

Lindsay Lohan won't be shopping here for luxury furs (skinned off the backs of endangered species) anytime soon!

Meanwhile, "Premium at Magic" labels tout sizzling-hot men's and women's contemporary fashion collections for the discerning fashionista.

At Magic Marketplace 2009, you'll be able to feast your keen fashion eye on stand-out trends emanating from the houses of Calvin Klein, DKNY Men, Julian Red, Nicole Farhi, Perry Ellis, Uniform, Cole Haan, Gram, Cold Method, to name a few.

See 'ya there!

Mens Fashion...stylish topcoats are practical too! Go for Classic silhouettes...

A few weeks ago, my eyes went wide as I spied a handsome full-length topcoat, dangling on a hanger at a bargain-basement price!

I dickered a little when it came to flashing the cash, though!

After all, residents of the City of Angels had been languishing in the sweltering heat for weeks.

Splurging on outwear appeared to be a costly waste of resource in these troubling financial times, too.

But, a little voice inside urged me to "go for it".

"Maybe you'll need to jet out to New York. This designer beauty won't only keep 'ya nice and toasty, but afford you the golden opportunity to traipse the Upper East Side in style."

So, I snapped it up - although I felt a little silly went I stepped out into the bright light of the sizzling hot fall day- with the ubiquitous fashion statement under my arm.

Sure enough, my investment paid off this past ten days.

While most folks were freezing their butts off and scurrying for warmer climbs as the biting winds and intermittent snow flurries blew in from the desert, I strolled along comfortably and lapped up the festivities the Yuletide season had to offer up all around me.

But fashion savvy guys have known all along that a topcoat or overcoat (whatever you want to coin it) are not only a stylish addition to a well-rounded wardrobe, but amount to a practical article of clothing, too.
And, a head-turner.

Today, I caught a sharply-turned out dude sporting a camel hair number that was a knock-out (the jacket, silly).

But, the pricey designer outerwear was a bit on the high maintenance end, what with dry cleaning costs and extra caution required to avoid nasty spills during the course of the day.

In contrast, a Black or Navy one is ideal.

Go for a form-fitting one, or one on the bulky side that is roomy enough to toss over your suit-and-tie ensemble, in the event the weather gets inclement.

Fashion tip!

Try to avoid snapping up a topcoat with too many flourishes that date it.

For example, avoid oversize belt buckles, padded shoulders, and design details that cast an aura of trendiness.

For good reason.

Once the fad has passed, you'll have to donate it to a Goodwill charity or "Out of the Closet" - and after-the-fact - fork out additional greenbacks for one that doesn't scream "fashion victim".

Go for the classic silhouette, after all, it's a timeless "look" that emphasizes style, elegance, and understated chic.

By the way, a full-length overcoat gives a man great presence and an air of prestige when he confidently strides into the room.

But it's how you "inhabit" the well-crafted threads that sets the men apart from the boys.

A dramtic fashion statement for a woman capable of pulling it off!
